Learey Technical College

Erwin Technical College, sometimes known as D. G. Erwin Technical Center, is a public vocational school in Tampa, Florida. It is part of the Hillsborough County Public Schools system. It was founded in 1925.Most classes and all administrative offices are located in the two-story main building. The building measures 380 feet (120 m) by 275 feet (84 m). An auto specialties training shop, one story tall, measures 200 feet (61 m) by 95 feet (29 m). The facility was originally built as a Sears department store in 1957. Erwin has a large variety of programs, some of which may transfer as credit hours in the Florida Community College system or even to a few other colleges willing to accept them. According to the Hillsborough County Public Schools 2011-2012 Workforce & Continuing Education Guide Erwin has forty-two individual career class offerings. Erwin has a few classes geared toward helping persons who need additional preparation to enroll in career classes. These include a class in General Educational Development (GED), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and CARIBE. CARIBE (Career Recruitment and Instruction - Basic English) is a program for recent entrants to the United States from Cuba, Haiti, Colombia, Afghanistan, Vietnam and other entrants with refugee or asylee status. CARIBE provides free English language training, GED training and vocational training in the school district's vocational training programs.All vocational courses at Erwin are approved by the Florida Board of Education.

Middleton High School is a public high school in Tampa, Florida named in honor of George S. Middleton, an African American businessman and civic leader who moved to Tampa from South Carolina in the late 19th century. Middleton was established for black students in 1934 during the segregation era. The current facility opened in 2002 on North 22nd Street in East Tampa. Middleton's mascot is the Tiger. Its rival school in Hillsborough County is Howard W. Blake High School. A historical marker recounts the school's history. It was an all-black school for nearly 40 years and remains predominantly black along with its surrounding neighborhood. It became a junior high school in 1971. Middleton High School reopened in a new location in 2002 with community support. In 2008, a report recounted the school's struggles to improve academic achievement.

The Horace T. Robles House is a historic U.S. home in Tampa, Florida. It is located at 2604 East Hanna Avenue. On March 2, 2006, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The house currently functions as the leasing office for an apartment complex.

The Hampton Terrace Historic District, originally called the Lakewood Manor Subdivision, is a U.S. historic district located in the Old Seminole Heights neighborhood of Tampa, Florida. The district is roughly bounded by Hanna Avenue to the north, 15th Street to the east, Nebraska Avenue to the west, and Hillsborough Avenue to the south. Hampton Terrace Historic District was so designated by its inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places on January 27, 1999. The Hampton Terrace district encompasses 1,150 acres (4.7 km2), and the neighborhood's boundaries are Hanna Ave, 15th St, Hillsborough Ave, and Nebraska, and includes Lake Roberta. The area contains about 470 contributing structures, all of which are private residences. The structures are considered historically significant examples of residential styles like the bungalow, and architectural influences including American Craftsman Style.

Captain William Parker Jackson House is a historic residence in the Seminole Heights area of Tampa, Florida. An 1870s farmhouse, it was once owned by prominent Tampa pioneers. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Jackson was born November 11, 1847, to "first Anglo-American family to settle in the Tampa Wilderness."According to the Tampa Bay Times, the house design is known as an I-house: a symmetrical structure popular from Colonial times through the 1800s. The property once included 152 acres along Nebraska Avenue (Tampa) up to the Hillsborough River, according to an 1852 survey plat.Jackson's parents were Tampa pioneers Nancy Coller Jackson (born January 22, 1815, in St Mary's, Florida and died March 24, 1907, in Tampa) and Robert Andrew Jackson Jr. (born on 2 May 1802 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania or New York and died on March 2, 1865, in Tampa), whose 1836 marriage is believed to have been the first recorded marriage on Florida's west coast, according to the Times. The farmland included cattle and orange groves; and Jackson piloted passenger and mail ships from Cedar Key to New Orleans and from Tampa to Cuba. The farmhouse's mantel may have been salvaged from the Hiram Cool, an iron-hulled steamship that ran aground. The house is located at 800 East Lambright Street. It has been toured as part of the Old Seminole Heights annual home tour. The Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association assisted with the documentation for the designation.

Seminole Heights United Methodist Church, also referred to as Seminole Heights Methodist or Seminole Heights UMC, is an active Methodist congregation and a historic, Gothic Revival style church building constructed in 1927 in the Old Seminole Heights neighborhood of Tampa, Florida. The building is one of the contributing structures within the Seminole Heights Residential District, a U.S. National and Local Historic District. Seminole Heights United Methodist Church is located at 6111 Central Avenue, at the southeast corner of the intersection of Central and Hanna Avenues.
