Bragdøya

Løvika is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The neighborhood is located in the borough of Vågsbygd and in the district of Voiebyen. It is located on the northeastern part of the island of Andøya. Løvika is east of Voie and northeast of Ternevig.

Odderøya is an island and neighborhoods in Kristiansand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The 0.7-square-kilometre (170-acre) island lies immediately to the south of the city centre of Kristiansand and it is connected to the mainland by four bridges. The island creates a natural division between the eastern and western parts of the port of Kristiansand.Gravanekanalen canal separates Odderøya from the city center and the fish wharf (Fiskebrygga). Prior to 1993, the island was owned by the Norwegian government and it was used as a naval base and training grounds, but since that time, the municipality of Kristiansand has taken over and is now using it for recreational purposes. The island is mostly undeveloped, but the town development plan does include an area on the island for up to 500 homes.

The Quart Festival was an annual popular music festival that took place in Kristiansand, Norway in the beginning of July, from 1991 to 2008. It was the most visited music festival in Norway. It was first named Qvadradurmusivalen in 1991, but changed into the more ear-catching Quart Festival the following year. For several years Quart was the largest music festival in Norway, but went bankrupt in 2008 in part due to tough competition from the Hovefestivalen in Arendal and some Oslo-based festivals.

Kilden Performing Arts Centre (in Norwegian: Kilden teater og konserthus) is a theater and concert hall on Odderøya in Kristiansand, Norway. It houses Kilden Teater, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra (KSO) and Opera Sør in a joint project never previously embarked upon. There is room for a variety of concerts and other forms of cultural expression.

Andøya is an island and neighborhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The neighborhood is part of the district of Voie in the borough of Vågsbygd within the city. The island is connected to the mainland via a short bridge. The island is mostly villas, harbors and has a population around 1,000 (2014). There are no schools or shops located at the island but there is a lot of businesses and offices at the island. Buses are available to Vågsbygd a few times a day. The postal code for the island begins with 462* and the telephone area code is 38.

Fiskebrygga (English: The Fish Wharf) is a former fish landing in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The buildings have been redeveloped as a restaurant, shopping area, and tourist destination. The former fish landing extends along both sides of Gravane Canal, the canal that separates the town centre, Kvadraturen, from the island of Odderøya. It was extensively reconstructed in the 1990s, with wood-fronted buildings in an old-fashioned style similar to the warehouses, painted yellow ochre and red, as well as housing, shops, and a number of restaurants. There are wooden piers on both sides of Gravane Canal, where there is a bustling boat traffic in summer, and bridges over the canal give the area an almost Venetian look. The area has since experienced a renaissance. The Fish Market at Fiskebrygga is one of the city's tourist attractions, selling all kinds of Norwegian fish and shellfish, including some live. Kirkens Bymisjon (The Church of Norway's City Mission) has its "Wharf Chapel", along with a café and bike repair shop "the pedal" on Fiskebrygga.

Lagmannsholmen was an island at the entrance to the western part of the harbor of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. Starting in 1686, the island was the site of the fleet station for the Danish-Norwegian galley fleet (Skjærbåt). Between the years 1750–1758, construction was completed for a new headquarters and main station for the navy at Fredriksvern naval station and shipyard at Stavern in Vestfold.During the 1960s and 1970s, the island was expanded and ultimately connected to the mainland in order to expand the western harbor in the port of Kristiansand. Lagmannsholmen is now part of the mainland. It forms a part of Kristiansand's container port and is connected to the current Kristiansand Fish Wharf (Fiskebrygga). Most of the former islet consists today of large warehouses and a concrete grain silo. There are few buildings dating from the former fortifications. In May 2017 a new dock for cruise ships was put into operation at Lagmannsholmen.

Kristiansand Boardwalk (Norwegian: Strandpromenaden) is a street in the town centre Kvadraturen in Kristiansand, Norway. The street is in most of its course closed to the passage of motor vehicles, but operates in the tourist season in connection with sightseeing. From where the street Strandpromenaden ends in the eastern corner of the town centre, there is a continuing boardwalk upwards the river Otra. The boardwalk got the Nordic Green Space Award in 2013.

The serious Hotel Caledonien fire took place at the 12-story Hotel Caledonien in Kristiansand, Norway, on September 5, 1986. The fire alarm was received at 04:40 in the morning. There were 14 fatalities, and more than 100 people were rescued. Rescue operations included a helicopter lifting persons off the roof and off upper story windows stories. The rescue work was difficult. The development of smoke meant that none of the hotel guests managed to get out through the escape routes inside the hotel, and they therefore had to be rescued through the windows. The fire brigade's ladders did not reach the upper floors, and several people therefore had to be rescued with the help of a helicopter. A total of 86 people stayed in this part of the hotel. Of these, 70 were brought out alive via fire brigade ladders, mobile cranes or helicopters, while 2 saved their lives by jumping from windows. The windows in the guest rooms could not be opened because the handles had been removed, and many of the guests therefore broke the windows to get fresh air, before they were rescued. All those who died died of smoke poisoning. Hotel Caledonien was rebuilt after the fire.

Kilden Teater is a Norwegian theatre based in Kristiansand. It was established in 1991, and has been the regional theatre for Agder since 1995. It was earlier named Agder Teater, but changed its name after moving in to the new Kilden Performing Arts Centre. Its first theatre director was Bentein Baardson, who led the theatre from 1991 to 1994. Alex Scherpf has been theatre director since 2005.

Christiansholm Fortress (Christiansholm festning) was a Norwegian fortress built to defend the city of Kristiansand.

Ternevig is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The neighborhood is located in the borough of Vågsbygd and in the district of Voiebyen. Ternevig is northeast of Møvik, southeast of Voie, east of Møviklia, and west of the ocean and the island of Andøya. There is a small hospital located in Ternevig serving the borough of Vågsbygd. There is also a marina located in this neighborhood.
