Kalmthout (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈkɑl(ə)mtɦʌut]) is a municipality in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the villages of Kalmthout, Achterbroek, Heide, and Nieuwmoer. In 2021, Kalmthout had a population of 19,020. The total area is 59.45 square kilometres (22.95 sq mi).In addition to Kalmthout itself, the municipality also contains the communities of Dorp-Heuvel, Heide, Achterbroek, and Nieuwmoer. The Arboretum Kalmthout is one of Belgium's most beautiful botanical gardens. The Kalmthoutse Heide is a nature reserve of nearly 10,000 acres (40 km2) spanning the border between Belgium and the Netherlands.

The Arboretum Kalmthout is a botanical garden in Kalmthout, Belgium. It was started as a tree plantation by Charles Van Geert in 1856. Van Geert developed a collection of rare plants and trees before selling the property after 40 years to Antoine Kort. Kort added an extensive collection of Hamamelis or witch hazel to the nursery, but was forced to close his business due to the Great Depression of the 1930s. In 1952, the property was purchased by the brothers Georges and Robert de Belder, to save it from being destroyed by a housing development. At the site, the year that they purchased the property, the de Belder brothers founded the International Dendrology Society (IDS) to promote preservation and conservation of rare or endangered woody plants. Robert de Belder and his wife, Jelena de Belder-Kovačič worked together to build an internationally known arboretum, where plant enthusiasts could study and exchange knowledge and information about plants. In 1986 it became property of the Antwerp province and is now open to public.

Heide is a railway station in the town of Heide, Antwerp, Belgium. The station opened on 3 January 1897 on the Antwerp–Lage Zwaluwe railway, known in Belgium as Line 12.

De Zoom–Kalmthoutse Heide Cross-Border Park is a cross-border park on the Belgian–Dutch border. It is a merger of two former parks, the Kalmthoutse Heide (Kalmthout Heath) in Belgium and De Zoom in the Netherlands, together extending over 37.50 square kilometres (14.48 sq mi). A very large part of the park is covered with heath. The park is managed by a special commission in which both Flemish and Dutch organisations are represented. The park is owned by the state of Flanders, the municipality Kalmthout, Staatsbosbeheer, Natuurmonumenten and several private owners. The best known part of the border park lies in Belgium, in the north of the province of Antwerp (Kalmthout and Essen). The Dutch part lies in the municipality Woensdrecht (province North Brabant) and stretches from the border to the villages Huijbergen and Putte.

The Kalmthout Heath (Dutch: Kalmthoutse Heide) is one of the oldest and largest nature reserves of Flanders, bordering the Netherlands and part of the Dutch-Belgian cross-border park De Zoom – Kalmthoutse Heide. It used to be part of a vastly larger European heath landscape. Its name stems from its location: the Belgian municipality Kalmthout.It has been protected as a landscape since 1941, and officially became a state reserve (Dutch: staatsreservaat) in 1964 due to a petition of over 100,000 signatures.

Brasschaat Airfield (Dutch: Vliegveld Brasschaat, (ICAO: EBBT)) is an airfield located 4 kilometres (2 mi) north of Brasschaat, Antwerp, Belgium. Formerly the base of the Belgian Army Flying Service, it is today home to recreational flying, including gliders and microlights.

Kapellen (Dutch pronunciation: [kɑˈpɛlə(n)] (listen), old spelling: Cappellen) is a municipality in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality lies in the Campine in the northern part of the province. Kapellen consists only of the town of Kapellen proper. In 2021, Kapellen had a total population of 27,157. The total area is 37.11 km². Kapellen consists out of multiple neighbourhoods, Kapellen Center, the eastern part of Putte, Kapellenbos, Hoogboom and Zilverenhoek. A number of neighbourhoods in Kapellen have a residential character and are characterized by their villaparcs, exclusive landhouses, and beautiful castles. Many who flee the always busy town enjoy Kapellen's peaceful nature. The town's football club is R. Cappellen F.C. and has played at the national level for many years.

Just outside the station, to the north, on the east-side there is a single rail fork towards the military domain of Brasschaat. This fork leaves from the only stabling track between Noorderdokken and Essen. When the schedule is disrupted the slow train is often put on the sidetrack so that the express trains can pass the slow train.

The Belgian part is mostly the municipality of Kapellen and a small part in the municipality of Stabroek, both are in the province of Antwerp.The Nationale Sluitingsprijs, the last road bicycle racing of the season, is held in Putte.

Putte is part of the Dutch municipality of Woensdrecht, and had 3751 inhabitants as of 1 January 2008. The village lies on and extends over the border between the Netherlands and Belgium, the Belgian part being Putte, Kapellen.
