The Montgomery County Courthouse (MCC), built in 1847, is a historic Greek Revival building located in Dayton, Ohio. It is referred to locally as the Old Courthouse. The limestone building, modeled on the 5th century BC Temple of Hephaestus in Athens, Greece, is the nation's best surviving example of a Greek Revival-style courthouse.The design was suggested by Dayton citizen Horace Pease, who had a book of sketches of the Acropolis in Athens which showed the Temple of Theseus, which he admired. Pease showed it to the Montgomery County Commissioners, who also were favorably impressed, and agreed it would be a good model for their new Courthouse. They hired architect Howard Daniels of New York to draw the plans in which he captured the form and beauty of the ancient Greek temple.The building, now restored, stands as a tribute to the leaders of old Dayton and to the artisans of the Miami Valley who built it. Dayton History, formerly known as the Dayton Historical Society and the Montgomery County Historical Society, is housed in the Old Court House. The courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 26, 1970.

KeyBank Tower is a skyscraper in Dayton, Ohio. Its address at 10 West 2nd Street was the first official name of the structure. The building was once named MeadWestvaco Tower until KeyBank gained naming rights to the tower in 2008. The tower has 27 floors and is 117 metres (384 ft) tall. KeyBank occupies about 45,000 square feet of office space spread across four floors of the tower. The main office branch was previously located on the first floor of the tower until it closed in May 2021. Other tenants include National Processing Solutions, Scientific Simulations Systems, Skilken & Skilken, Colliers International, and the Downtown Dayton Partnership.The first floor of the KeyBank Tower also houses an OinkADoodleMoo BBQ restaurant.In 2010, a group of Cincinnati investors purchased KeyBank Tower. The 397,000-square-foot (36,900 m2) building was purchased from THMG 10 West Second Street LLC, a real estate investment company. The company is taking approaches to have the entire office tower leased.

The Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center (Schuster Center) is located in Dayton, Ohio and was built in 2003 to serve as Dayton's principal center of the lively arts. It is owned and operated by Dayton Live and occupies the former site of Rike's department store on a block comprising North Main Street, West Second Street and North Ludlow Street. It is named for local philanthropists Dr. And Mrs. Benjamin Schuster who donated the lead gift for the project. The Schuster Center houses the 2300-seat Mead Theatre, the ticket office for all Dayton Live venues, a Starbucks café, a glass enclosed lobby called the Wintergarden, and the multi-purpose Mathile Theatre hosting performances, events, and rehearsals. Attached to the Schuster Center is Performance Place Tower, a 15-story residential and office condominium. The Schuster Center opened as an additional venue to house Dayton Live's larger touring Broadway productions and presentations. The Dayton Philharmonic, the Dayton Opera, and the Dayton Ballet rent the building for their performances. The Schuster Center and the Metropolitan Arts Center, occupying the former Metropolitan Company department store building next to the Victoria Theatre, stage a variety of performances and form the basis of the performing arts district in downtown Dayton.

The Dayton Arcade is a collection of nine buildings in Dayton, Ohio. The Arcade is a historic, architecturally elegant complex in the heart of Dayton's central business district. Built between 1902 and 1904, it was conceived by Eugene J. Barney of the Barney & Smith Car Company and consists of nine interconnecting buildings topped by a glass-domed rotunda, 70 feet (21 m) high and 90 feet (27 m) in diameter (detailing around the dome includes oak leaves and acorns, grain, rams' heads, wild turkeys, and cornucopia), below which two balconied upper floors circle the central enclave. As president of the Arcade Company, Barney made sure the Arcade had the latest innovations, including elevators, a power plant and a cold-storage plant. The architect was Frank M. Andrews, known also as architect for many of NCR's factory buildings (notable for their use of progressive fenestration) and the American Building (originally Conover) at Third and Main Streets in Dayton.

Dayton ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. A small part of the city extends into Greene County. As of the 2020 census, the city proper had a population of 137,644, making it the sixth-most populous city in Ohio. Dayton anchors the state's fourth-largest metropolitan area, the Dayton metropolitan area, which had 814,049 residents. Dayton is located within Ohio's Miami Valley region, 50 miles (80 km) north of Cincinnati and 60 miles (97 km) west of Columbus. It is a principal city of the Dayton–Springfield–Sidney combined statistical area, home to a population of 1,086,512.Dayton was founded in 1796 along the Great Miami River and named after Jonathan Dayton, a Founding Father who owned a significant amount of land in the area. It grew in the 19th century as a canal town and was home to many patents and inventors, most notably the Wright brothers, who developed the first successful motor-operated airplane. It later developed an industrialized economy and was home to the Dayton Project, a branch of the larger Manhattan Project, to develop polonium triggers used in early atomic bombs. The Lindsey Building is a historic commercial building in the downtown section of the city of Dayton, Ohio, United States. Built in the early twentieth century, the Lindsey has been named a historic site. Constructed of brick on a stone foundation, the Lindsey Building's architecture is typical of commercial buildings erected in the early twentieth century. Some of its more distinctive components are Neoclassical, including its three-part facade and some of its smaller details. Twelve stories tall, the building has been modified to include room for modern-styled shops on its first two floors; the main entrance is located in a recessed area to the right (from the perspective of someone inside the building) of the shop space. It was renovated to new apartments as part of the city block revitialation of the Dayton Arcade. Built for Theodore Lindsey, the Lindsey Building was constructed in 1917 at a time when Dayton was highly prosperous. During the late 1910s, the downtown was experiencing sustained growth, and numerous commercial buildings such as the Lindsey were being constructed. For much of its history, it has housed financial institutions, including the Miami Savings and Loan Company and the Mutual Home and Savings Association.In 1985, the Lindsey Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places; by the early 2010s, it was one of approximately one hundred such locations in the city of Dayton. It qualified for designation in two separate ways: because of its architecture, and because of its place in local history, for it was deemed a leading example of the downtown's expansion in the early twentieth century.

The Commercial Building is a historic skyscraper in central Dayton, Ohio, United States. Constructed in the early twentieth century, it played an important part in the development of the western portion of downtown Dayton, and it is one of the most prominent surviving examples of the work of one of the most significant architects in the city's history. Located at the edge of what was once one of the city's leading commercial complexes, it has been named a historic site.

The Edwin Smith House is an historic structure in Dayton, Ohio. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 13, 1974. It is also known as the Dayton Bicycle Club and Craighead House.

The Benjamin F. Kuhns Building is a historic commercial building on Main Street in downtown Dayton, Ohio, United States. Distinguished by its little-modified late nineteenth-century architecture, it has been named a historic site. Built of brick covered with a slate roof, the Romanesque Revival building features elements of stone and terracotta. Its facade is divided into five bays, each of which features a large arch, while the street-facing southern side is functionally a larger form of the facade. The building was designed by Peters and Burns, a Dayton-based architectural company, and constructed under the direction of Dayton contractors Beaver and Butt. During the building's early years, it was home to companies such as the Manhattan Clothing Store and Oleman's Department Store, which maintained premises there in the 1890s and 1910s respectively. However, the building was not always used for commercial purposes; an arts school operated in the building during the 1888-1889 schoolyear. Among the building's interior features is a mail chute, which according to local lore is one of the earliest installed in any building nationwide.Benjamin Kuhns, the building's namesake, moved from Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Dayton in 1855 at the age of thirty. By his fiftieth birthday, Kuhns was a prominent industrialist, having taken a small Dayton firm and turned it into a prominent manufacturer of agricultural equipment. He was also a prominent philanthropist, having been one of the primary founders of Miami Valley Hospital.The Benjamin Kuhns Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in April 1978, qualifying because of its historically significant architecture. By the early twenty-first century, the Kuhns Building had undergone a highly successful redevelopment process, but like the Kettering Tower and several other downtown buildings, it experienced foreclosure in 2010 after the corporation that owned it fell behind on the mortgage and on property taxes. In 2019, it was sold by the city of Dayton to a developer.

The Conover Building, also known as Wright Stop Plaza, is a historic structure in downtown Dayton, Ohio, United States. Constructed at the turn of the twentieth century, the Conover features a mix of architectural styles and sits at a prominent intersection, and it has been named a historic site.

WDPS (89.5 FM) (for: Dayton Public Schools and its nickname Dayton's Power Source") is a radio station broadcasting a Jazz format. It serves its city of license, Dayton, Ohio, United States. The station is currently owned by Dayton Public Schools. Its programming is aired weekdays during school hours during the curricular school year. The frequency is shared with WQRP which airs a gospel music format when WDPS programming ends after the school day. According to a Dayton Daily News story dated July 21, 2009, the station has moved to new studios located in the David H. Ponitz Career Technology Center at 741 West Washington St. A switch to a "real jazz" format has also taken place.
