Eyton, Herefordshire

Bicton is a hamlet in the Croft and Yarpole parish in Herefordshire, England. It is on a crossroads south of Yarpole and north-east of Kingsland.

Folly's Lane is a woodland in Herefordshire, England, near the village of Luston. It covers a total area of 1.18 hectares (2.92 acres). It is owned and managed by the Woodland Trust.

Luston is a village and civil parish in north Herefordshire. It is 3 miles (5 km) north from Leominster on the B4361 road. To the south from the village of Luston is the hamlet of The Broad. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 541.The parish has no church but there is a Methodist chapel in the village. The village primary school opened in September 1968. The local pub is The Balance Inn. The parish hall, shared with the neighbouring village of Eye, is called Cawley Hall after the family who had their seat at nearby Berrington Hall.

Berrington and Eye railway station was located in Eye, Herefordshire. It opened on 6 December 1853 and closed on 9 June 1958. The station was opened under the Shrewsbury and Hereford Joint Railway and closed under the auspices of the Western Region of British Railways. The former station is on the operating Welsh Marches Line.

Yarpole is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Croft and Yarpole, Herefordshire, England, about 4.5 miles (7 km) north-west of Leominster. The village is near the county boundary with Shropshire and about 7 kilometres (4 mi) south-west of Ludlow. The hamlet of Bicton is to the south, Bircher to the north-east and Croft to the west. In 1961 the parish had a population of 394. On 1 April 1987 the parish was abolished and merged with Croft to form "Croft and Yarpole".The village has a gastropub, The Bell, and a parish hall.

Eye is a small village in the Eye, Moreton and Ashton civil parish of Herefordshire, England, and 3 miles (5 km) north from Leominster, 15 miles (24 km) north from the city and county town of Hereford, and in the catchment area of the River Lugg. Eye has a small historic church with a square tower and effigies; beside it is Eye Manor, noted for its decorated plaster ceilings, and a village hall—the Cawley Hall—named after the local Cawley family. At 1 mile (1.6 km) to the east, between the villages of Moreton and Ashton, is Berrington Hall, a Henry Holland house with Capability Brown landscape, which was built for Thomas Harley. The Welsh Marches Line runs through the closed Berrington and Eye railway station, which previously served the village. The station opened on 6 December 1853 and closed on 9 June 1958.Admiral James Vashon (1742 – 1827) was born here. In 2015 metal detectorists found a viking hoard worth £3 million in a field in the village but failed to report it as treasure.

Eye Manor is a Carolean manor house in Eye, Herefordshire, England. It dates from the late 17th century and was built for Ferdinando Gorges. Noted for its interior plasterwork, the house is a Grade I listed building.

Leominster nunnery was an Anglo-Saxon nunnery at Leominster, Herefordshire, England. Founded in the ninth century, the nunnery is known to have been active in the eleventh century. The exact location of the nunnery is not known, but it may have been the site later occupied by Leominster Priory, a twelfth-century foundation.
