Omsky District (Russian: О́мский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the thirty-two in Omsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southern central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,600 square kilometers (1,400 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Rostovka. Population: 94,086 (2010 Census); 94,251 (2002 Census); 90,461 (1989 Census). The population of Rostovka accounts for 5.8% of the district's total population.

Siberian Law University (SibLU) is a Russian private higher education institution located in Omsk, Western Siberia. It was established as Omsk Law Institute on 24 February 1998 by the Fund for Social and Legal Protection of Graduates of the Omsk Higher Militia School, renamed in 2004 to the Fund for Assistance to Legal Education and Science. It was renamed in 2012 to Omsk Law Academy, and in 2019 to Siberian Law University. Blinov Sports and Concerts Complex (Russian: Спортивно-концертный комплекс им. Виктора Блинова short form: СКК "Блинова" previous name: СКК "Иртыш") is an indoor sporting arena located in Omsk, Russia. The capacity of the arena is 5,500. It was the home arena of the Avangard Omsk ice hockey team since 1987 till 2007. Today it is a home arena of women's volleyball club Omichka and Avangard affiliated MHL-B team Yastreby Omsk. The construction began back in the 70s, but later was postponed and frozen for several years. The complex was finished only in 1986 and hosted the first hockey games in February 1987. Before 2001 it was called Irtysh Sports and Concert Complex subsequently changing the name to Blinov Sports and Concert Complex after Viktor Blinov, the first ice hockey Olympic champion from Omsk.

The Om (Russian: Омь) is a river in the south of the Western Siberian plains in Russia. It is a right tributary of the Irtysh. It is 1,091 kilometres (678 mi) long, and has a drainage basin of 52,600 square kilometres (20,300 sq mi). It rises in the Vasyugan Swamp at the border of Novosibirsk and Tomsk oblasts. The name is probably from the word om "quiet" in the language of the Baraba Tatars. The city of Omsk is situated at the confluence of Om and Irtysh. The main tributaries are the Icha, Kama and Tartas.

The main tasks of the directorate are to ensure Public Safety, protect the Rights and Freedoms of Man and Citizen, combat Crime, maintain Public Order, and control migration processes. The head of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is appointed and dismissed by the President of the Russian Federation on the proposal of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. The Dormition Cathedral (Russian language: Успенский собор) in Omsk is one of the largest churches in Siberia. Its fanciful design of many shapes and colors utilizes a plethora of elements from the Russian and Byzantine medieval architectural vocabulary. The main square of Omsk takes its name from the cathedral. The first stone of a new church was laid by Tsesarevich Nicholas during his journey across Siberia in 1891. A revivalist design was commissioned from Ernest Würrich, a fashionable architect based in Saint Petersburg. The church was consecrated in 1898. It was shut down after the Russian Revolution and was blown up in 1935. The Russian Orthodox Church had the edifice rebuilt to Würrich's original designs in the early 21st century.The worshippers from all over Siberia come to the church in order to venerate the relics of Bishop Sylvester, a Kolchak supporter who was martyred by the Bolsheviks in 1920.
