Swan District Hospital

La Salle College is a Roman Catholic co-educational secondary school in Middle Swan, Western Australia, an eastern suburb of Perth. It caters for approximately 1400 Year 7-12 students, including about 40 Aboriginal boarding students from regional and remote Western Australia.

Midland is a suburb in the Perth metropolitan region, as well as the regional centre for the City of Swan local government area that covers the Swan Valley and parts of the Darling Scarp to the east. Viveash is an eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia, in the City of Swan. It was named after Samuel Waterman Viveash, the owner of the land in this area in the 1840s. He came to the Swan River Colony on Britomart, which sailed from Spithead on 3 July 1838 and arrived at Fremantle on 5 December 1838, and took up land in the Avon Land District. A copy of Viveash's diaries for the period 1838 to 1851 can be accessed at the University of Western Australia Library. The suburban area of Viveash was developed by Midland Brick, which carried out subdivision in 1967, and requested in 1968 that the area be named after Viveash.

The Midland Junction railway station was an important junction station on the Eastern Railway of Western Australia until its closure in 1966. Its history started on 1 March 1886 when Frederick Broome, then Governor of Western Australia, turned the first sod. It was the first railway station in Midland Junction and was replaced by the Midland station 300 metres (980 ft) west, across the tracks from the Midland Railway Workshops.

Midland railway station is the terminus of the Midland line in Perth. Western Australia. It is operated by Transperth and is connected with the feeder bus services that utilise the adjacent bus terminal in Midland.

St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals is a health care facility in Midland, Western Australia which opened in November 2015.St John of God Health Care built and operates the hospitals under a public-private partnership with the Western Australian state government. St John of God Midland Public Hospital has replaced the nearby Swan District Hospital.St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals are divisions of St John of God Health Care, a Catholic not-for-profit health care group, serving communities with hospitals, home nursing, and social outreach services throughout Australia, New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

The Midland Railway Workshops in Midland, Western Australia, were the main workshops for the Western Australian Government Railways (WAGR) for over 80 years.

Midvale is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, which is split between the City of Swan and the Shire of Mundaring. Its postcode is 6056. Developed in the early 1950s, the area was named as a composite of Midland and the former Helena Vale Racecourse. The former racecourse site is now part of Midvale. Its southern boundary is the Great Eastern Highway, and eastern the Eastern Railway. A substantial amount of the housing in the suburb is known as State Housing; a significant amount of this housing was redeveloped by the Department of Housing under the "Eastern Horizons New Living Project".

St. Mary's Church is an Anglican church on Yule Avenue in the suburb of Middle Swan, Western Australia. St. Mary's was built in 1868 on the site of an earlier church which had been built there in 1838. The church is part of the Anglican Diocese of Perth. The church and graveyard overlook the Swan River in the Swan Valley district. The church can seat 150 people and is open by appointment only.

Sandalford Wines is a privately owned Australian winery business based at Caversham, in the Swan Valley, the focal point of the Swan District wine region of Western Australia. Sandalford owns and operates wineries and vineyards both in Caversham and at Wilyabrup, in Western Australia's Margaret River wine region. The company traces its origins back to 1840, when John Septimus Roe, the first Surveyor-General of the Swan River Colony, was granted 1,250 acres (510 ha) on the banks of the Swan River by Queen Victoria, in recognition of his services to the colony.In the same year, Captain Roe planted Western Australia's first vines at the property, which he named Sandalford after an estate owned by his family on the site of a priory built in 1066. However, winemaking only became a commercial venture at Sandalford after World War II; until then it had been a hobby and a sideline.Sandalford now also makes the wines marketed under the brand name "Element".
