Wyandotte (formerly Oakdale), is a neighborhood on the southside of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its modern boundaries are Longfield Avenue to the north, Taylor Boulevard to the west, I-264 to the south, and Southern Parkway to the east. The opening of Iroquois Park in the early 1890s created a huge demand for suburban homes south of Louisville. The Coleman-Bush company had begun selling lots in a subdivision called Oakdale in late 1890. Oakdale was one of many middle-class communities created at this time, facilitated by the southward extension of streetcar lines. Oakdale incorporated in 1904, and annexed nearby Churchill Downs as well as parts of other nearby neighborhoods. In 1916 however, Oakdale, along with other nearby cities such as Highland Park, was annexed by Louisville. Though the communities fought this, it was ultimately dismissed in federal court in 1921, and Oakdale became a part of Louisville in 1922. Wyandotte Park, named after the Wyandotte tribe, was opened in 1935 in western Oakdale. This would eventually lead to the entire neighborhood being officially renamed Wyandotte in the 1970s, though many residents still call it Oakdale.

South Louisville Reformed Church is a historic church at 1060 Lynnhurst Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky. It was built in 1908 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.It is a frame Gothic Revival style church. In 1908 it was built as the South Louisville Reformed Church; it was renamed to Lynnhurst Reformed Church in c.1925 after the area was annexed by Louisville and the street it was on was renamed to Lynnhurst, from Sycamore.

Hazelwood is a neighborhood on the south side of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Manslick Road to the west, I-264 to the north, Taylor Boulevard to the east, and Hazelwood Avenue to the south. Its development, as with other nearby neighborhoods, was spurred by the opening of Iroquois Park in the early 1890s. E.E. Meacham first subdivided the land in 1899. A larger subdivision, called Bergmann's Addition, was financed in 1902. The Hazelwood Center, opened in 1907, is a former tuberculous center and since 1971 a hospital for the mentally handicapped located in the neighborhood.

Taylor-Berry is a neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Taylor Boulevard to the east, Berry Boulevard to the south, Seventh Street Road to the west, and Algonquin Parkway to the north.

Iroquois High School is a high school located in southwestern Louisville, Kentucky, United States near Iroquois Park, in the Beechmont neighborhood (nestled between two portions of the Iroquois neighborhood). It is part of the Jefferson County Public Schools. As of the 2014–15 school year, there were 1,205 students at the school.

Cloverleaf is a neighborhood in southwest Louisville, Kentucky. Its boundaries are I-264 to the north, Manslick Road to the east, Gagel Avenue to the south, and the Illinois Central railroad tracks to the west. It takes its name from Cloverleaf Acres, a development in the area. It is residential, and was annexed by Louisville in 1958.

The Immanuel Chapel Protestant Episcopal Church in Louisville, Kentucky, which has also been known as Emmanuel Episcopal Church, is a historic church at 410 Fairmont Avenue. It was built in 1909 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.It has lancet windows down its sides. By 1983, a new church had been built next door and this building was no longer used for church services, but it was used for other purposes by the congregation.

Churchill Downs is a horse racing complex located on Central Avenue in south Louisville, Kentucky, United States, famed for hosting the annual Kentucky Derby. It officially opened in 1875 and was named for Samuel Churchill, whose family was prominent in Kentucky for many years. The first Kentucky Derby, a Thoroughbred sweepstakes and part of today's horse racing Triple Crown, and the first Kentucky Oaks were held in the same year. Churchill Downs has also hosted the renowned Breeders' Cup on nine occasions, most recently on November 2 and 3, 2018.The racetrack is owned and operated by Churchill Downs Incorporated. With the infield open for the Kentucky Derby, the capacity of Churchill Downs is roughly 170,000.In 2009 the Horseplayers Association of North America introduced a rating system for 65 Thoroughbred racetracks in North America, which ranked Churchill Downs number 5 on its list. In 2014, prior to the start of their spring meet, Churchill Downs announced an increase in parimutuel takeout rates. As a result of the takeout increase, Churchill Downs ranked number 22 in that year's Horseplayers Association of North America Track Ratings.

The Kentucky Derby Museum is an American Thoroughbred horse racing museum located on the grounds of Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Dedicated to preserving the history of the Kentucky Derby, it first opened its doors to the public in the spring of 1985. Much of its early funding came from a donation from the estate of James Graham Brown. The museum consists of two floors of exhibit space, including a 360-degree theater that shows the HD film The Greatest Race. Through the film and exhibits, visitors can learn what goes into the breeding and training of a young foal and the path it takes to the Kentucky Derby's winner circle. Every Kentucky Derby win is honored in the Warner L. Jones Time Machine, where visitors can watch any Kentucky Derby from 1918 to the present day. Exhibits highlight the stories of owners, trainers and jockeys as well as the importance of African American jockeys and trainers to the race and the Thoroughbred industry. Guided tours of Churchill Downs' barn and infield areas, jockeys' quarters, "millionaires row" and press box are also offered. Exhibits were designed by Bruce Burdick's San Francisco design firm The Burdick Group.

Iroquois is a neighborhood on the south side of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It is split into two parts by Beechmont. From a historical perspective, the northwestern section would be the Bryn Mawr neighborhood and the southeastern section would be the Kenwood neighborhood. The Iroquois neighborhood is roughly bounded by Hazelwood Avenue, Beechmont, Third Street, Kenwood Drive, and Iroquois Park. Located near the Louisville International Airport, residents have frequently complained of noise and challenged airport expansion. The largely residential neighborhood was developed as a suburb after World War II and into the 1950s.The notorious Iroquois Tenement Housing Complex was torn down in 2012 and replaced with the Hope Garden Project, an urban farming collaboration involving KentuckyOne Health, the Food Literacy Project and the Metro Housing Authority.Iroquois has a lending library, a branch of the Louisville Free Public Library.Notable residents include musician Bryson Tiller.

The Seagram's Distillery (also known as the Calvert Distillery) is a historic building complex in Louisville, Kentucky, on Seventh Street Road. It was originally constructed between 1933 and 1936 for the production of bourbon whiskey by Distillers Corporation Limited, who acquired Joseph E. Seagram & Sons (later renamed to The Seagram Company Ltd.) in 1928. The Seagram company has since ceased operation, and its assets were acquired by other companies, notably The Coca-Cola Company, Diageo, and Pernod Ricard.
