Aspall, Suffolk

Aspall and Thorndon was a railway station on the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway. This station was located with Aspall to the south, Debenham 2.5 miles further south and Thorndon 3.5 miles to the north-west.

Debenham is a village and civil parish located 11 miles (18 km) north of Ipswich in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. The River Deben rises in the parish, and flows along a prolonged ford through the village.In 1086, Debenham was a comparatively large village of 69 households in the hundred of Claydon.At the 2001 census the parish population was recorded as 1,728 increasing to 2,210 at the 2011 census though including the parishes of Aspall and Winston. It is currently estimated to be 2,274.In 1991 Prince Alexandre of Belgium was married in the village however the marriage was kept a secret until 1998. In November 2020, filming on the thriller movie Confession started at Debenham Church. The film stars Colm Meaney.

Debenham High Schools is a secondary school located in the village of Debenham in Suffolk, UK. The school accepts students who are between 11 and 16 years old and live in the catchment. Any spare places are then allocated to students outside of the catchment.The school is currently headed by Simon Martin after Julia Upton became the new Headteacher of Kesgrave High School in September 2020.

Debenham Leisure Centre Football Club is a football club based in the village of Debenham, in Suffolk, England. The club are currently members of the Suffolk & Ipswich League Senior Division and play at Maitlands.

Thredling was a hundred of Suffolk, and at just under 10,000 acres (40 km2) the smallest of Suffolk's 21 hundreds.The five parishes of Thredling fall into the Deanery of Claydon, the Archdeaconry of Suffolk, and the Diocese of Norwich. The hundred was bounded by Loes, Carlford, Hoxne, Hartismere and Bosmere and Claydon. The River Deben has its source here. It was one of seven Saxon hundreds grouped together as the Wicklaw Hundreds.The origin of the hundred's name is not known, though one theory derives it from "Thrythhild", known to be a female first name of the Saxon era.

Kenton was a railway station on the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway. The station was located a mile north of the hamlet of Kenton.

Kenton is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. Located 1.9 miles to the north-east of Debenham, in 2005 its population was 170. A parish in the Hundreds of Suffolk of Loes. The name Kenton comes from the Old English for ‘Kingly’, or ‘Royal’ and can trace its origins back to before the Norman conquest. Not to be confused by Kenton, a place partly in the London Borough of Harrow and partly in the London Borough of Brent, and Kenton, a place in Devon. Between 1908 and 1952 the village was served by the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway, on which it had a station with a platform, which was located over 0.6 miles south. The station had a small building made externally of corrugated iron and internally of match-boarding. Kenton station was halfway between Laxfield and Haughley on the branch line. Kenton Hall (around 1200) resides nearby about half a mile south-west from the church.Grass drying plant (operated by Eastern Counties Farmers) was just behind the old station.

Rishangles is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. The place-name 'Rishangles' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appears as Risangra. The name means 'brushwood slope', the second element being related to the word 'hanger' meaning 'hanging wood'.The manor of Rishangles was held until his death in September 1478 by Edward Grimston, who also held the manor of Thorndon. They passed to his son Edward (1462-1520). Edward Grimston was well-connected, and his third marriage (1471) to Philippa, daughter of John Tiptoft, 1st Baron Tiptoft and sister of the Earl of Worcester was held in the presence of John de la Pole, 2nd Duke of Suffolk and his wife Elizabeth Plantagenet, sister of Kings Edward IV and Richard III.Located around seven miles south of Diss, in 2005 its population was 80. At the 2011 the population was included in the civil parish of Bedingfield. Despite its small population the village is at one time believed to have been home to three churches. Following the closure of both the Methodist church and the Grade II* listed Parish church, St Margaret's, only the Baptist Church remains open.

Southolt is a village and civil parish in Suffolk, about 4+1⁄2 miles (7 km) southeast of Eye, on the road between Bedingfield and Worlingworth.

Winston is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. Located around 8 miles (13 km) east of Stowmarket, the 2011 Census showed that the population of the parish of Winston is 159. The parish also contains the settlements of Winston Green and Fenn Street. There is a church and an old school room, and every year there is a Winston Village Fete. A lot of the village of Winston is based around 14th Century Church, with multiple 16th Century cottages and farmhouses along church lane, showing the villages agricultural past, the area of Winston is still agricultural based with farms and fields all over the parish. Winston and the surrounding area is approximately 45m-50m above sea level making the area unlikely to flood, unless in exceptional circumstances. In the 1870s Winston was described as: Winston, a parish, with a village, in Bosmere district, Suffolk; 1 mile SSE of Debenham, and 7 NE of Needham r. station.

Mickfield Meadow is a 1.9-hectare (4.7-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Mickfield in Suffolk. It is managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.Fertilisers and herbicides have never been used on this meadow, and as a result it has a rich variety of flora, including fritillary. The dominant grasses are meadow foxtail, cocksfoot, false oat-grass, timothy and Yorkshire fog.There is access by walking along a field margin from Brook Lane.
