Debenham High Schools is a secondary school located in the village of Debenham in Suffolk, UK. The school accepts students who are between 11 and 16 years old and live in the catchment. Any spare places are then allocated to students outside of the catchment.The school is currently headed by Simon Martin after Julia Upton became the new Headteacher of Kesgrave High School in September 2020.

Debenham is a village and civil parish located 11 miles (18 km) north of Ipswich in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. The River Deben rises in the parish, and flows along a prolonged ford through the village.In 1086, Debenham was a comparatively large village of 69 households in the hundred of Claydon.At the 2001 census the parish population was recorded as 1,728 increasing to 2,210 at the 2011 census though including the parishes of Aspall and Winston. It is currently estimated to be 2,274.In 1991 Prince Alexandre of Belgium was married in the village however the marriage was kept a secret until 1998. In November 2020, filming on the thriller movie Confession started at Debenham Church. The film stars Colm Meaney.

Thredling was a hundred of Suffolk, and at just under 10,000 acres (40 km2) the smallest of Suffolk's 21 hundreds.The five parishes of Thredling fall into the Deanery of Claydon, the Archdeaconry of Suffolk, and the Diocese of Norwich. The hundred was bounded by Loes, Carlford, Hoxne, Hartismere and Bosmere and Claydon. The River Deben has its source here. It was one of seven Saxon hundreds grouped together as the Wicklaw Hundreds.The origin of the hundred's name is not known, though one theory derives it from "Thrythhild", known to be a female first name of the Saxon era.

Aspall is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 52, and estimated population of 60 in 2005. The village is about 15 miles (24 km) north of Ipswich, and 12 mi (19 km) south of Diss. The Domesday Book records the population of Aspall in 1086 to be 24 households made up of 5 freemen and 19 smallholders along with 60 pigs, 24 sheep, and 13 cattle. The lands that made up the village were held by Odo of Bayeux, Ranulf Peverel, Robert Malet. Aspall Cyder is brewed here by the Chevalliers of Aspall Hall. Aspall Hall is one of four moated houses located within a mile - the others being Aspall House, Moat Farm, and Kenton Hall at Kenton, Suffolk. Between 1908 and 1952 the village was served by Aspall and Thorndon railway station on the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway. Sir Herbert Kitchener, then Governor-General of the Sudan, was created Baron Kitchener of Khartoum, and of Aspall in the County of Suffolk, on 31 October 1898.

Winston is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. Located around 8 miles (13 km) east of Stowmarket, the 2011 Census showed that the population of the parish of Winston is 159. The parish also contains the settlements of Winston Green and Fenn Street. There is a church and an old school room, and every year there is a Winston Village Fete. A lot of the village of Winston is based around 14th Century Church, with multiple 16th Century cottages and farmhouses along church lane, showing the villages agricultural past, the area of Winston is still agricultural based with farms and fields all over the parish. Winston and the surrounding area is approximately 45m-50m above sea level making the area unlikely to flood, unless in exceptional circumstances. In the 1870s Winston was described as: Winston, a parish, with a village, in Bosmere district, Suffolk; 1 mile SSE of Debenham, and 7 NE of Needham r. station.

Aspall and Thorndon was a railway station on the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway. This station was located with Aspall to the south, Debenham 2.5 miles further south and Thorndon 3.5 miles to the north-west.

Pettaugh is a village and civil parish located within the district council area of Mid Suffolk, England.It is a small village of a little over 200 inhabitants in 85 households, 10 miles north of Ipswich and 2+1⁄2 miles south of Debenham, in the county of Suffolk. It is in a rural location surrounded by farmland, at the junction of the A1120 (Stowmarket to Yoxford) and the Coddenham to Debenham roads. An aerial view of Pettaugh shows a few houses surrounded on all sides by a patchwork of farm fields. Years ago the fields may have been smaller, with lots more hedges, but farm fields surrounding the village is probably the way it's been for a very long time. The village sign reflects this – it features a farmer with his horse-drawn plough, working the farmland around Pettaugh, an anvil, indicating the existence of a blacksmith in the village, essential to farming in the days of horse-drawn ploughs, and the windmill which stood at the centre of the village. Thus are the main occupations of Pettaugh residents of 'yesteryear' represented – farming, smithing and milling the grain, mostly working very close to home. Today, residents of Pettaugh commute to nearby towns to work – to Debenham, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, and even by train to London; very few earn a living in or near to the village. Even the children catch buses or are driven by parents to schools in Stonham Aspal, Debenham, Helmingham, etc. Occupations may have changed but Pettaugh thrives, at the heart of beautiful Suffolk countryside. History The place-name 'Pettaugh' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appears as Petehaga and Pettehaga. The name means 'Peota's enclosure'.The medieval parish church of St Catherine was renovated in 1861 and is a grade II* listed building.

Mickfield Meadow is a 1.9-hectare (4.7-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Mickfield in Suffolk. It is managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.Fertilisers and herbicides have never been used on this meadow, and as a result it has a rich variety of flora, including fritillary. The dominant grasses are meadow foxtail, cocksfoot, false oat-grass, timothy and Yorkshire fog.There is access by walking along a field margin from Brook Lane.

Fox Fritillary Meadow is a 2.4-hectare (5.9-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Framsden in Suffolk. It is owned and managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.This unimproved meadow is located on heavy alluvial soils at the bottom of a valley. It has a rich variety of flora, including the herbs cowslip, cuckooflower and ragged robin, together with the largest population in East Anglia of the rare snake's head fritillary.This site is closed to the public apart from an open day in April.

Mickfield is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. Located around five miles north-east of Stowmarket, in 2005 its population was 200.The Church of St Andrew was made redundant in the late 1970s and was allowed to fall into disrepair. The building has now been restored by the ACT (Anglia Church Trust) and is being used by the community. The small brethren gospel hall was demolished in 2009, after 104 years, on completion of the new church building, Mickfield Evangelical Church. No longer known as a brethren church, the group are now affiliated with the FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches).

Bedingfield is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. Rishangles and Southolt were included in the population at the 2011 Census.
