The Puerto Real Campus is one of the four campuses housing the University of Cádiz. It is located at the municipal limits of Puerto Real (Cádiz), together with the San Pedro river and the neighborhood of the same name. It is located within Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park. It is well-connected with all the localities in the bay of Cádiz and several nearby (Jerez, Sanlúcar, Chipiona, Arcos and the white towns of the mountain range, accessibly by bus or commuter train.

Penalty de las Cuatro Torres was a prison located in San Fernando in the Province of Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain. Francisco de Miranda was imprisoned here and died in prison in 1816 while his case was still being processed.

Arsenal de la Carraca, also Naval Station of La Carraca, is a naval shipyard and a naval base in San Fernando, Spain. It is a naval base for the construction and repair of ships, and the storage and distribution of arms and ammunition. The first military establishment of its kind to be created in Spain under the naval policy of Felipe V, it was developed by Patiño and the Marquis de la Ensenada. Though work on building the shipyard began in 1720, the formal decree issued by Fernando VI on October 3, 1752, accelerated its construction until it was completed in the late 18th century.

Isla del Trocadero (tr. "trader's island") is an island in the Bay of Cádiz, in Andalusia, Spain.

San Pedro is a small stream in the province of Cádiz, Spain, close to Guadalete river. It runs for 25 km into the Bay of Cádiz. It flows by Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park.

Puente Marqués de Ureña is a bridge located in San Fernando in the Province of Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain. It was built in the 18th century in honour of the Marqués de Ureña.

The Battle of Cádiz (1640) was a naval battle in the Franco-Spanish War (1635-1659), which took place on July 21, 1640, when a French squadron under Jean Armand de Maillé-Brézé attacked a Spanish convoy coming from the Americas. The attack occurred just in front of the coast of Cádiz. Armand de Breze employed a hitherto unknown tactic to attack the Spanish convoy from both sides. The Spanish lost a galleon and a small vessel but the convoy completed its journey and delivered most of its cargoes including its silver bullion. French losses are unknown.

The Bay of Cádiz is a body of water in the province of Cádiz, Spain, adjacent to the southwestern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. The Bay of Cádiz adjoins the Gulf of Cádiz, a larger body of water which is in the same area but further offshore.

Torres de la Casería de Ossio is a complex of three towers of sixteen floors located in San Fernando in the Province of Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain. As of 2013 it is the tallest building in the city, surpassing the Hospital Militar de San Carlos by several metres when built in 2007.

Casto Secundino María Méndez Núñez (1 July 1824 – 21 August 1869) was a Spanish Navy officer. He served in the First Italian War of Independence in Italy in 1849, the Spanish-Moro Conflict in the Philippines in 1861, and the Dominican Restoration War in the Caribbean in 1863–1864. Rising to the rank of contralmirante (counter admiral) he achieved international renown for his command of the Spanish Navy's Pacific Squadron during the Chincha Islands War in 1865–1866, becoming one of the major Spanish naval figures of the nineteenth century. In Spain, he is a popular hero, viewed as an exemplification of good character and Spanish patriotism.

Victoriano Sánchez Barcáiztegui Acquaroni (23 April 1826 – 26 May 1875) was a Spanish Navy officer. He played a role in the First Italian War of Independence in 1849 and gained fame in Spain for his performance in the Battle of Callao in 1866. He was killed in action during the Third Carlist War.

Francisco Moreno Fernández (7 November 1883 – 21 January 1945) was a Spanish Navy admiral who fought in the Rif War and later participated in the coup d'état in Spain against the Second Spanish Republic in July 1936 that triggered the Spanish Civil War (1936–1939). He fought on the Nationalist side during the war, rising to the rank of vicealmirante (vice admiral) in the Nationalist fleet and was both its commander-in-chief throughout the war and the commander of its Mediterranean Blockade Forces from 1937 to 1939. He later reached the rank of almirante (admiral). For his service, General Francisco Franco posthumously awarded him the title of 1st Marquis of Alborán on 1 April 1950.
