The Methodist Episcopal Church of Pescadero (currently known as Native Sons of the Golden West Pebble Beach Parlor) is a historic church at 108 San Gregorio Street in Pescadero, California. It was built in 1890 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It is Gothic Revival in style.It served as a church only briefly after its completion in 1890; by 1899 church services were only held once a month in circuit rider fashion.In the 1920s and 1930s it was used by families of Japanese-American agricultural workers for after-school teaching of Japanese language and cultural traditions, but this ended abruptly upon Pearl Harbor.It served as a school after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and was converted to a community center in 1920.It was later purchased by the Native Sons of the Golden West, Pebble Beach Parlor, and the Native Daughters of the Golden West, Ano Nuevo Parlor.

First Congregational Church of Pescadero

The First Congregational Church of Pescadero, also known as the Pescadero Community Church, is a historic United Church of Christ on Stage Road, in Pescadero, California. It was built in May 1867 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The listing included the church building, and a contributing structure and a contributing site.The shape of the church's 40 feet (12 m) tall steeple suggests Gothic Revival style, but wasn't added until 1890, being added by local carpenter and church member Charles Wilson. Otherwise the church has Classical Revival details.It is significant as "the first church building to be constructed in the town of Pescadero solely for religious purposes. It is now the oldest, surviving wooden church building on its original site and in continuous church usage and without major renovations in the San Francisco Peninsula and Santa Clara Valley region."

Rancho Butano

Rancho Butano was a 4,439-acre (17.96 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day San Mateo County, California given in 1838 by Governor Juan Alvarado and confirmed in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Ramona Sanchez. The name Butano can be traced back to 1816. It speculated that Californios called a drinking cup made from the horn of a bull or other animal a butano. A First American origin is possible but has not been established. At one time, the grant was in Santa Cruz County 1850–1868; a boundary adjustment transferred the land to San Mateo County. The grant extended along the Pacific coast between Rancho Pescadero and Rancho Punta del Año Nuevo, with Butano Creek on the north to Arroyo de los Frijoles (Creek of the Beans) on the south, and encompassed present-day Bean Hollow State Beach and Butano State Park.

Pescadero Middle and High School is a public school located in Pescadero, California, United States, the only middle and high school within the La Honda–Pescadero Unified School District. Serving 159 students in grades 6–12 as of the 2019–2020 school year, it is the most sparsely populated comprehensive public middle and high school in San Mateo County. The school was founded in 1922, and is designated as a Necessary Small School by the California legislature, meaning the school receives government funds to subsidize its operating costs.

Pescadero Creek

Pescadero Creek is a major stream in Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties in California, United States. At 26.6 miles (42.8 km), it is the longest stream in San Mateo County and flows all year from springs in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Its source is at 1,880 feet (570 m) above sea level on the western edge of Castle Rock State Park, with additional headwaters in Portola Redwoods State Park, and its course traverses Pescadero Creek County Park and San Mateo County Memorial Park before entering Pescadero Marsh Natural Preserve at Pescadero State Beach and thence to the Pacific Ocean 14.4 miles (23 km) south of Half Moon Bay.
