Hopkinton is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States, 25 miles (40 km) west of Boston. The town is best known as the starting point of the Boston Marathon, held annually on Patriots' Day each April, and as the headquarters for the Dell EMC corporation. At the 2020 census, the town had a population of 18,758. The U.S. Census recognizes the central village within the town as a census-designated place, with a population of 2,651 at the 2020 census.
