Clear Lake (Douglas County, Oregon)

Lake Marie is a small freshwater lake in Umpqua Lighthouse State Park, near Winchester Bay, Oregon, USA. It has a sandy beach at one end for swimming and day use, hiking trails surrounding it, and is overlooked by a couple of log cabins which can be rented.

The Umpqua River ( UMP-kwə) on the Pacific coast of Oregon in the United States is approximately 111 miles (179 km) long. One of the principal rivers of the Oregon Coast and known for bass and shad, the river drains an expansive network of valleys in the mountains west of the Cascade Range and south of the Willamette Valley, from which it is separated by the Calapooya Mountains. From its source northeast of Roseburg, the Umpqua flows northwest through the Oregon Coast Range and empties into the Pacific at Winchester Bay. The river and its tributaries flow almost entirely within Douglas County, which encompasses most of the watershed of the river from the Cascades to the coast. The "Hundred Valleys of the Umpqua" form the heart of the timber industry of southern Oregon, generally centered on Roseburg. The Native Americans in the Umpqua's watershed consist of several tribes, such as the Lower and Upper Umpqua (for which the river is named), and the Kalapuya. These tribes witnessed much of the Great Flood of 1862, during which the Umpqua and other rivers rose to levels so high that even the oldest natives had never seen a greater flood.

Winchester Bay, formerly Umpqua City, is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Oregon, United States. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Winchester Bay as a census-designated place (CDP). The census definition of the area may not precisely correspond to local understanding of the area with the same name. The population of the CDP was 382 at the 2010 census. The community of Umpqua City was established in 1850.

Eel Lake is a large, deep lake in a chain of water bodies along the Oregon Coast south of the Umpqua River in the United States. William M. Tugman State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of Oregon. Administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD), the park borders Eel Lake, about 8 miles (13 km) south of Reedsport near U.S. Route 101.Tugman Park has 94 campsites for recreational vehicles (RVs) as well as 16 yurts for hikers and bikers; a day-use area, a boat ramp, a fishing dock, and a hiking trail. Activities on or near the lake include fishing, swimming, boating, and wildlife watching. The lake supports populations of largemouth bass, crappie, stocked rainbow trout, steelhead (sea-run rainbow trout), and Coho salmon, the latter of which must be released if caught.William M. Tugman (1894–1961) was a journalist from Eugene and Reedsport. In 1957, he became the first chairman of the OPRD Advisory Committee, which made recommendations to the governor about state parks.

Tenmile is an unincorporated community in Coos County, Oregon, United States. It is about 8 miles (13 km) south of Winchester Bay and one mile (1.6 km) west of Lakeside, on U.S. Route 101 next to Tenmile Creek and the Oregon Dunes. Tenmile Lake was named for Tenmile Creek, which was said to be ten miles south of Winchester Bay.

A'eron island is a tiny island (approx 800 ft x 1600 ft) located near the mouth of the Umpqua River on the Pacific coast of Oregon in the United States. At very low tides it can be reached via the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area over a narrow naturally occurring sand causeway or by boat at higher tide levels.

North Tenmile Lake is one of a chain of lakes along the Oregon Coast south of the Umpqua River in the United States. The chain includes Tenmile, Eel, Clear, and smaller lakes, which drain into the Pacific Ocean via Tenmile Creek. The lake is 8 miles (13 km) south of Reedsport and 1 mile (1.6 km) east of U.S. Route 101 near the community of Lakeside. North Tenmile Lake is connected to Tenmile Lake by a navigable 0.5-mile (0.80 km) channel.North Tenmile Lake is named after the creek, which is about 10 miles (16 km) south of Winchester Bay. This community, at the mouth of the Umpqua River, was the earliest pioneer village along this part of the coast.
