Moulsecoomb Place

Moulsecoomb railway station serves Moulsecoomb and Hollingdean, both suburbs of Brighton in East Sussex, England. Train services from the station are provided by Southern, and the station is on the East Coastway Line 1 mile 65 chains (2.9 km) down the line from Brighton. The station was opened in May 1980 — the first completely new station on the then Southern Region since the Beeching Axe. It is located adjacent to the Moulsecoomb campus of the University of Brighton. The station has separate entrances to each platform; these are connected by a footbridge which also serves as a public right of way. The entrance to Platform 1 (the westbound platform) is via a set of steps from Queensdown School Road, a steeply sloping cul-de-sac off the main A270 Lewes Road. Platform 2 is reached from a path leading from the end of Crespin Way, another cul-de-sac at the eastern edge of the Hollingdean estate.

The School of Business and Law is part of the University of Brighton. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and has about 500 full-time students, 1,000 part-time students and 120 members of academic staff. It provides teaching, research and consultancy in accounting, economics, finance, business, human resources, management, marketing and law. Formerly part of Brighton Technical College, the school has been teaching business and management courses since the 1960s. It is located in Elm House on the Moulsecoomb campus, two kilometers from Brighton city centre. The school runs a number of accredited degrees which lead to some exemptions from professional examinations. Professional bodies affiliated to the school include the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply, the Chartered Management Institute, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and The Law Society. The School of Business and Law hosts two research centres: the Centre for Research in Innovation Management (CENTRIM) and the Centre for Research on Management and Employment (CROME). In the latest Research Assessment Exercise (2008), it was ranked as one of the top 15 UK business schools in terms of world-leading research outputs. 70% of the school's business and management research was found to be of international standing or higher.

Preston Barracks was a military installation in Lewes Road, Preston, Brighton. The buildings and site are being converted into student residences and a business school.

Moulsecoomb () is a suburb of Brighton, England, on the northeast side around Lewes Road, between Coldean and Bevendean, 2+1⁄4 miles (3.6 km) north of the seafront. The eastern edge adjoins Falmer Hill on the South Downs. It is often divided into smaller sections on maps: North Moulsecoomb, East Moulsecoomb and South Moulsecoomb. The name is sometimes pronounced as if spelt Mools-coomb, though more often the first part is pronounced like the animal "mole". It derives from the Old English for Muls Valley: Mul was a Saxon nobleman.Moulsecoomb suffers from high social deprivation and crime rates, along with neighbouring Whitehawk. In 2001, it was in the top 5% of socially deprived areas in England.

The Brighton and Lewes Downs Biosphere Reserve (established 2014) is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve located in Sussex on the southeast coast of England near the city of Brighton and Hove. Forming a central unit of the hills of the South Downs National Park, it is centred on the Brighton chalk block that lies between the River Adur in the west and the River Ouse in the east. Chalk downland makes up the principal terrestrial landscape of the area, bounded at each end by the two river valleys. The coastline is dominated by impressive chalk cliffs in the east and urbanized plains in the west, running to the estuary of the River Adur at Shoreham-by-Sea. The area is nationally and internationally renowned for its arts and culture, distinctive settlements, independent mindset and its links to the surrounding iconic English landscape of downland, white chalk cliffs and beaches.

Wild Park is a 239.8-hectare (593-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Brighton in East Sussex. It is owned and managed by Brighton and Hove City Council. It includes Hollingbury Castle, an Iron Age hillfort which is a Scheduled Monument, and Hollingbury Park golf course. The park has views over Brighton. Species-rich chalk grassland is managed by sheep grazing. There is extensive woodland with a network of footpaths, large areas of scrub and a dew pond.

The Bear Road area is a largely residential area in the east of Brighton, part of the English city of Brighton and Hove. Centred on the steep west–east road of that name, it is characterised by terraced houses of the early 20th century, but Brighton's main cemeteries were established here in the 19th century and there is also some industry. Bear Road itself, a steeply sloping route running from the main Brighton–Lewes road eastwards towards Brighton Racecourse, divides the area into two contrasting sections. North of the road, the bare hillside was developed with densely populated streets of small houses from 1895 onwards. Development was effectively complete within 20 years, and most of the roads have names connected to the Boer War, giving the suburb "a strong sense of place". Other surviving buildings include some large early-20th-century factories, but an isolation hospital and the area's only church have both been demolished since 1990. South of Bear Road, a series of cemeteries and crematoria were built on a large, undulating area of farmland between 1850 and 1919.

Brighton Electric is a music studio complex in Brighton, UK, founded in 2000. The main premises was built in 1897 as the Brighton Corporation Tramways head office.

Hollingbury Castle, also known as Hollingbury Camp and Hollingbury Hillfort, is an Iron Age hillfort on the northern edge of Brighton, in East Sussex, England. It is adjacent to Hollingbury Park Golf Course. It is a scheduled monument.

Lewes Road railway station was a railway station in Brighton, East Sussex. It was located on the now closed Kemp Town branch line which first opened in 1869. The station opened on 1 September 1873 and was closed to passengers in 1933 but the line remained opened for goods trains until 1971. The layout of the station was quite unusual, as the single track that passed through it had a platform either side of it linked by a footbridge. Entry to the station was via a covered staircase situated next to the first arch of the Lewes Road viaduct. After the station was closed to passengers the platform buildings were used as a pickle factory, before being demolished during the 1950s. The platforms were intact when the line was completely closed in 1971. The site was redeveloped during the 1980s and no trace of the station now remains.

Hartington Road Halt railway station was a stop on the Kemp Town branch railway line between Brighton station and Kemp Town, Brighton, East Sussex. It was open only briefly between 1906 and 1911. The line it stood on was closed permanently in 1971 and has now been demolished.

Hollingdean is a district in the city of Brighton & Hove. The Ward is called Hollingdean and Stanmer with a population of 15,681 at the 2011 Census. Hollingdean is in effect the older part of Hollingbury. It is bounded by Ditchling Road to the west, the Round Hill area to the south, and Lewes Road and Moulsecoomb to the east. It is a mainly residential area, with many council houses to the east and low-rise flats in the central part, with late 19th and early 20th-century terraced houses towards Fiveways, and some railway land, light industry, and warehousing.
