The Mittaggüpfi (also known as Gnepfstein) is a mountain of the Emmental Alps, located west of the mountain of Pilatus on the border between the Swiss cantons of Lucerne and Obwalden.

Schwarzenberg is a municipality in the district of Lucerne in the canton of Lucerne in Switzerland.

The Schimbrig is a mountain of the Emmental Alps, located in the municipality of Hasle in the canton of Lucerne. In the nineteenth century a tourist resort was established at the foot of the mountain where a natural sulphur spring surfaces. The resort Schimbrig Bad was successful until it burnt down in a fire in the early twentieth century.

The Widderfeld is a mountain in the Emmental Alps, located west of the Pilatus in Central Switzerland. The summit lies on the border between the cantons of Obwalden and Lucerne. The tripoint between the cantons of Lucerne, Obwalden and Nidwalden (1,920 m) lies 300 m north of the summit.

Rengg is a locality and a mountain pass in the canton of Lucerne in Switzerland. It connects Schachen, part of Werthenstein, and Entlebuch. It lies partially in the district of Entlebuch which is a biosphere preserve recognized by UNESCO.

Canton of Nidwalden or Nidwald (German: Kanton Nidwalden [ˈniːdˌvaldn̩] ; Romansh: Chantun Sutsilvania; French: Canton de Nidwald [ni.dwal]; Italian: Canton Nidvaldo) is one of the 26 cantons forming the Swiss Confederation. It is composed of eleven municipalities and the seat of the government and parliament is in Stans. It is traditionally considered a "half-canton", the other half being Obwalden. Nidwalden lies in Central Switzerland. It borders the canton of Obwalden to the west, the cantons of Lucerne and Schwyz to the north, the canton of Uri to the east and the canton of Bern to the south. The canton is essentially in the Alps, south of Lake Lucerne. It is one of the smallest cantons, the population is 40,287 (in 2007). The largest town is Stans, followed by Hergiswil and Buochs. Together with Obwalden, Nidwalden was part of the forest canton of Unterwalden, one of the three participants in the foundation of the Old Swiss Confederacy, named in the Pact of Brunnen of 1315 with Uri and Schwyz. The division of Unterwalden into two separate territories, Obwalden and Nidwalden, appears to develop over the course of the 14th and 15th centuries.

Entlebuch is a municipality in the canton of Lucerne in Switzerland. It is the seat of the district of Entlebuch. The area has been designated a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2001.

Landenberg Castle is a ruined castle atop a hill in the municipality of Sarnen in the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland. In the 18th century an armory and firing range were built on the site. The Landenberg Armory is a Swiss heritage site of national significance. The ruins of the castle was the meeting place of the Landsgemeinde or Cantonal assembly for over three centuries.
