March is a Fenland market town and civil parish in the Isle of Ely area of Cambridgeshire, England. It was the county town of the Isle of Ely which was a separate administrative county from 1889 to 1965. The administrative centre of Fenland District Council is located in the town. The town grew by becoming an important railway centre. Like many Fenland towns, March was once an island surrounded by marshes. It occupied the second largest "island" in the Great Level. As the land was drained, the town grew and prospered as a trading and religious centre. It was also a minor port before, in more recent times, a market town and an administrative and railway centre. March is situated on the banks of the navigable old course of the River Nene, today mainly used by pleasure boats.

Fenland Hall is a municipal building on County Road, March, Cambridgeshire, England, which serves as the headquarters of Fenland District Council. The building was originally called "County Hall", and was built in 1908–1909 by Isle of Ely County Council to be its meeting place and offices.

Norwood Road is a 2.6-hectare (6.4-acre) nature reserve in March in Cambridgeshire. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.This site has a deep pond, marshland and hawthorn scrub. There are wetland birds such as coots, moorhens and mallards, and other wildlife includes noctule bats and weasels.There is access to the reserve from Norwood Road.

March railway station is on the Ely–Peterborough line in the east of England and serves the market town of March, Cambridgeshire. It is 85 miles 76 chains (138.3 km) measured from London Liverpool Street via Ely and is situated between Manea and Whittlesea stations. The station, which was opened in 1847, was once a major junction with a number of lines radiating from the town. The station has been the scene of a number of accidents including a double train crash in 1896.The station has since reduced in importance, with several lines being dismantled or mothballed. The regional route between Ely and Peterborough still runs through the station and an increasing number of freight trains pass through. The station originally had seven platforms. However, two of these are now filled-in bay platforms and the track has been removed from a further west-facing bay on the southern side of the station. There are now just two operational platforms, although track has been re-laid on two disused platforms on the northern side of the station and it is anticipated that these may be used should proposals to re-open the line to Wisbech come to fruition. The nearby Whitemoor marshalling yard returned to use in 2004 having been disused since the early 1990s. In 2021, a Victorian ledger dating back to April 1885 was found after it fell from the loft of the station when contractors were removing rotten wood work. The ledger is planned to go on display at the station. In March 2022, the station car park was resurfaced and repainted.

March TMD is a railway traction maintenance depot situated near March, England. March was a steam locomotive shed under British Railways with the depot code 31B; the depot code of the diesel depot under BR was MR. The nearest railway station is March, and the depot was located close to the Whitemoor Marshalling Yard. Despite its rural location, in the 1970s it accommodated a similar number of locomotives to the comparatively larger Toton TMD and served as the main diesel depot for East Anglia.

The ground was established in 1939, when Cambridgeshire played Suffolk in the grounds first Minor Counties Championship match. From 1935 to the present day, it has hosted 69 Minor Counties matches.The first List-A match played on the ground came in the 1975 Gillette Cup between Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. From 1975 to 2003, the ground played host to 10 List-A matches, the last of which saw Cambridgeshire play Yorkshire in the 2003 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy.In local domestic cricket, The Avenue Sports Club Ground is the home ground of the March Town Cricket Club who play in the Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire Premier League Division 1 and Rutland League Division 2.

Neale-Wade Academy (formerly Neale-Wade Community College) is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status in the market town of March, Cambridgeshire, England. As with many state schools, the current school was the product of a merger of a grammar school and a comprehensive school. The merged school has since grown to become, Fenland's largest secondary school. It was designated Mathematics & Computing specialist status in 2005, and gained academy status in 2013. The current head teacher is Graham Horn who started his role there in 2020.

Fen Causeway or the Fen Road is the modern name for a Roman road of England that runs between Denver, Norfolk in the east and Peterborough in the west. Its path covers 24 miles (39 km), passing March and Eldernell (near Whittlesey) before joining the major Roman north–south route Ermine Street west of modern-day Peterborough. It provided a link from the north and west of England to East Anglia. It is possible that the route continued east of Denver to meet Peddars Way at Castle Acre, but the evidence for this is less certain. The road is thought to have been raised above the marshy fens using gravel, with a width of up to 60 feet (18 m). Towards its western end it is close to the Bronze Age route across Flag Fen. At that archaeological site, which is open to visitors, a section through the Roman Road can be seen.

Westry is a village in Cambridgeshire, England. It lies to the northwest of March on the A141 to Wisbech. The Church of St Mary was erected in 1873 to a design by Thomas Henry Wyatt. It is a Grade II listed building. The church was gutted by fire in an arson attack on 15 March 2010 but reopened in 2014 after its insurers paid for a £2.2m renovation.
