Mount Konocti

The Clear Lake Volcanic Field is a volcanic field beside Clear Lake in California's northern Coast Ranges. The site of late-Pliocene to early Holocene activity, the volcanic field consists of lava domes, cinder cones, and maars with eruptive products varying from basalt to rhyolite. The site's threat level is ranked "High" at #33 in the top volcanic threats in the United States according to "2018 Update to the U.S. Geological Survey National Volcanic Threat Assessment". The last eruption being about 11,000 years ago. Cobb Mountain and Mount Konocti are the two highest peaks in the volcanic field, at 4,724 feet (1,440 m) and 4,285 feet (1,306 m) respectively. The field's magma chamber also powers a geothermal field called The Geysers, which hosts the largest complex of geothermal power plants in the world. These can generate approximately 2000 megawatts, enough to power two cities the size of San Francisco.The Clear Lake volcanics are thought to have been the heat source for the hot springs and hydrothermal activity that formed the mercury ores at the Sulphur Bank Mine, and the gold ore at the McLaughlin Mine.

KPFZ-FM is an FM radio station that broadcasts a community radio format to Lake County, California. KPFZ's staff, including board members, programmers, and hosts are volunteers.

Konocti Harbor is a resort and music venue in Kelseyville, California. It is situated at the base of Mount Konocti on the south shore of Clear Lake, the largest freshwater lake interior to California. Its amenities included a spa, a miniature golf course, a marina, and two Olympic-size swimming pools.

Soda Bay is a census-designated place in Lake County, California. It is located on Clear Lake 7.5 miles (12 km) east-southeast of Lakeport, at an elevation of 1,398 feet (426 m). The population was 1,016 at the 2010 census. A resort at the place, called Soda Bay Springs, could by 1910 accommodate 150 guests.

Buckingham Park (formerly Buckingham Peninsula) is an unincorporated community in Lake County, California. It is located on the south shore of Clear Lake, on the peninsula just south of The Narrows and 4.8 mi (7.7 km) northeast of Kelseyville, 9 miles (14 km) east-southeast of Lakeport, at an elevation of 1,414 feet (431 m). The community was established as an "exclusive subdivision" of lakeside properties in 1930.The name comes from a family that lived at the site in the 1880s and 1890s.

Clearlake Riviera (formerly Clear Lake Riviera) is a census-designated place in Lake County, California. It lies at an elevation of 1755 feet (535 m). The population was 3,090 at the 2010 census.

Clear Lake State Park is a state park of California, United States, on Clear Lake. The park is popular for water recreation. Amenities include 149 developed campsites spread across four campground areas, two group campsites, a swimming beach with showers, a boat launch, and a marina. Since the area is a major breeding ground for grebes, there's a broad "no wake" zone in the Cole Creek launch area and near the reedy shoreline, which is conducive to canoeing and kayaking. The 590-acre (240 ha) park was established in 1949.

Red Hills Lake County AVA is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) located in Lake County, California and was established by Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Treasury on September 10, 2004. The wine region lies along the southwestern shores of Clear Lake, separating Excelsior Valley to the east from Big Valley to the west. The hills lie at the foot of Mount Konocti, a volcano which last erupted 11,000 years ago, but which is still regarded as active. The terrain is rolling hills with elevations between 1,400 feet (430 m) and 3,000 feet (910 m) above sea level. Red Hills receives an average of 25 to 40 inches (635–1,016 mm) of rainfall annually.

Glenhaven (formerly, Gum Tree Point) is an unincorporated community in Lake County, California. It is located on Clear Lake 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Clearlake Oaks, at an elevation of 1345 feet (410 m).

The Boggs Lake Ecological Reserve is a nature reserve in Lake County, California. The land area is about one quarter of a square mile and contains a large vernal pool as well as endangered plants such as the Boggs Lake hedge-hyssop. Boggs Lake is managed by the Nature Conservancy and the California Department of Fish and Game. It is 8 miles (13 km) south of Clear Lake and has a small parking area and hiking trail loop. The protective fence and interpretive display boards were installed by the Nature Conservancy. The lake lies in a volcanic depression lined with a very fine covering of volcanic ash a few feet deep that has compacted to become impervious to water. The lake surface covers about 90 acres (360,000 m2) when it is full.Originally a plant preserve of 101 acres (0.41 km2) that resulted from the California Native Plant Society's (CNPS) efforts to save the land from development in 1973, it is today a protected area of sensitive habitat for several endangered plants and animals.
