Mound City is a city in and the county seat of Linn County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 647.

The Old Linn County Jail, also known as City Hall, at 312 Main Street in Mound City in Linn County, Kansas was built in 1867–68. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It is two-story front-gabled building with 21 inches (0.53 m) thick brick walls on a 27 by 34 feet (8.2 m × 10.4 m) plan. The building began serving as city hall for Mound City in 1903.

The Linn County Courthouse in Mound City, Kansas was built in 1885. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It was designed by Topeka architect George Ropes. It is a two-story-with-basement red brick building with a 110 by 60 feet (34 m × 18 m) plan and height almost 65 feet (20 m). Its foundation is a native limestone wall, separated from brick above by a smooth cut stone belt course. A second belt course circles the building at level of the second story's window sills.

Linn County is a county in the U.S. state of Kansas, located in along the eastern edge of Kansas, and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Its county seat is Mound City, and its most populous city is Pleasanton. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 9,591. The county was named for Lewis Linn, a U.S. Senator from Missouri.

La Cygne (pronounced lay SEEN) is a city in Linn County, Kansas, United States, and situated along the Marais des Cygnes River. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 1,050. The city is named after the Marais des Cygnes River which is a French translation of an Osage appellation meaning "marsh of the swans".

Centerville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Linn County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 78. It is located 8.5 miles (13.7 km) north of the city of Blue Mound.

The Landers Creek Bridge, also known as the Goodrich Bridge and located at the southern edge of Goodrich in Linn County, Kansas, is a stone arch bridge built in 1917. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. The bridge design reflects the transition of materials: it uses stone voussoirs, concrete piers, and concrete spandrel walls. It has five stone arches and is 82 feet (25 m) long with a 14 feet (4.3 m) roadway (from curb to curb). The roadway is 14 feet (4.3 m) above Landers Creek. Small limestone wing walls were added later.

Goodrich is an unincorporated community in Linn County, Kansas, United States.

The Marais des Cygnes Massacre Site, also known as Marais des Cygnes Massacre Memorial Park, is a state historic site near Trading Post, Kansas that commemorates the 1858 massacre of the same name. On May 19, 1858, during a period of political instability and sporadic violence known as Bleeding Kansas, a group of pro-slavery border ruffians captured 11 abolitionist free-staters. The prisoners were forced to a nearby ravine, where 10 of them were shot, resulting in five fatalities. The abolitionist John Brown later built a fort near the site. The first commemoration at the site was two stone markers erected by men of the 3rd Iowa Cavalry Regiment in 1864, although these monuments had been destroyed by souvenir hunters by 1895. In 1941, the land where the massacre occurred, as well as an 1870s-era house constructed by a friend of Brown, were transferred to the state of Kansas. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1974. The Kansas Historical Society administers the site, which is interpreted by signage and a hand-cranked audio recording.
