Melbourn Rural District was a rural district in Cambridgeshire, England, from 1894 to 1934.

Thriplow Meadows is a 3.5-hectare (8.6-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Thriplow in Cambridgeshire.The site has two fields with neutral pastures which range from dry to marshy. These lowland habitats are now rare, and the wetter areas have many uncommon plants. Wetland herbs include ragged robin, fleabane and purple loosestrife.There is access from School Lane.

Thriplow () is a village in the civil parish of Thriplow and Heathfield, in Cambridgeshire, England, 8 miles (13 km) south of Cambridge. The village also gives its name to a former Cambridgeshire hundred.

Fowlmere is one of the southernmost villages in Cambridgeshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 Census was 1,206. It is very close to the Imperial War Museum Duxford, and 9 miles (14 km) southwest of the city of Cambridge.

Thriplow Peat Holes is a 12.2-hectare (30-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-east of Thriplow in Cambridgeshire.The site has rare alder carr and fen habitats which have a wide variety of invertebrates, which is enhanced by ditches and ponds. The main vegetation is alder, ash, willow and guelder rose.The site is private land with no public access.

The Queen's Head is a pub in Newton, Cambridgeshire, England. It is Grade II listed and has been a pub since 1729. It is on the Regional Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors for East Anglia. The pub sign depicts Anne of Cleves.It has been listed in every edition of CAMRA's Good Beer Guide since 1974, one of only five pubs to achieve this. In 2021 it received a Golden Award from CAMRA, one of only 32 pubs.

Newton is a civil parish and small village in Cambridgeshire, England. Situated around 7 miles to the south-west of Cambridge, it lies on the old coaching road between London and Cambridge. Its population in 2001 was 401, falling to 378 at the 2011 Census.

Whittlesford - Thriplow Hummocky Fields is a 55.6-hectare (137-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest between Whittlesford and Thriplow in Cambridgeshire. This site has two unusual species, the nationally rare grass-poly, which is only found in south Cambridgeshire on the British mainland, and the nationally uncommon fairy shrimp Chirocephalus diaphanus. They are found in shallow hollows in arable fields, which are the result of ice lenses melting at the end of the last ice age. There are also uncommon liverworts.

Fowlmere Airfield (ICAO: EGMA) is a small airfield located 4.2 miles (6.8 km) northeast of Royston, Hertfordshire and 8.8 miles (14.2 km) southwest of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. It was previously a Royal Air Force satellite station, RAF Fowlmere.

Rowley's Hill is a hill in Cambridgeshire, near the villages of Harston and Newton. Although of only moderate height (50 m/164 ft), it has a relatively large prominence due to it being surrounded on all sides by a 'moat' of much lower land. It therefore stands separate from the other hills in the region and has a distinctive appearance. The hill has a north east top, St Margaret's Mount (52.1362°N 0.1056°E / 52.1362; 0.1056), on top of which is an obelisk. It is a memorial to Gregory Wale, of Little Shelford, of the eighteenth century.

Foxton is a small village in South Cambridgeshire, England. It has a number of well-preserved fifteenth- and sixteenth-century houses, and a thirteenth-century church dedicated to St Laurence.

Fowlmere is a Royal Society for the Protection of Birds nature reserve between Fowlmere and Melbourn in Cambridgeshire. It is designated a 39.9-hectare (99-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest called Fowlmere Watercress Beds.Fowlmere's reedbeds and pools are fed by natural chalk springs and a chalk stream runs through the reserve. It has three hides, two of which are wheelchair-accessible. Special birds include kingfishers, water rails, sedge warblers, reed warblers and grasshopper warblers plus a roost of corn buntings in winter.
