Free Church, Hampstead Garden Suburb

The Parish Church of St Jude-on-the-Hill (usually known simply as St Jude's), is the parish church of Hampstead Garden Suburb in north London. The suburb was founded in 1907 by Henrietta Barnett to be a model community where all classes of people could live together in attractive surroundings and social harmony.

The Henrietta Barnett School is a grammar school with academy status for girls, in Hampstead Garden Suburb in London. The Good Schools Guide called the school 'One of the best academic state schools in the country, providing a gentle, inspiring education in a wonderful setting for very clever girls', and the school consistently ranks amongst the top state schools in educational league tables. The school was named among the 'magnificent seven' in 2005, following three mentions as being 'outstanding' in Ofsted's inspections. Following its latest Ofsted inspection in May 2022, the school was recategorised as "Good".

Big Wood and Little Wood are two patches of woodland in Hampstead Garden Suburb in the London Borough of Barnet. They are a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade 1, and a Local Nature Reserve. Big Wood is 7.3 hectares and Little Wood is 1.2 hectares.The woods have been a forest for over 1000 years, and were probably part of land given to Wealdheri, Bishop of London in about 704. The area remained in church ownership until the twentieth century, and in 1911 the woods were part of lands leased to the Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust by the Ecclesiastical Commissioners. In 1933 the freehold of the woods was transferred to Finchley Urban District Council, and in 1965 the land passed to its successor, the London Borough of Barnet. Prior to the construction of the Denman Drive North and South in 1912 on the field between Little and Big Woods, the land was used for grazing elephants.Pedunculate oak is the main canopy tree, together with sessile oak, hornbeam and wild cherry. It also contains an unusually large population of wild service trees, while the undergrowth is dominated by bramble and ivy, with many bluebells. Breeding birds include tawny owl, nuthatch and treecreeper.At the Temple fortune Hill entrance to Big Wood there is a new gate donated by local people as a memorial to 29 Garden Suburb residents who died in World War II. It stands on an ancient eighth century boundary. Little Wood has an open-air theatre built in 1920.There is access to Big Wood from Northway, Temple Fortune Hill, Oakwood Road and Denman Drive South, and to Little Wood from Denman Drive North and Addison Way.

Hampstead Way is a street at the northern edge of Hampstead. It is located primarily in the London Borough of Barnet although its southern end forms a border with the London Borough of Camden in which the rest of Hampstead is located. In the south it is part of the old hamlet of North End, which marked the northern boundary of Hampstead, but then curves northwards and follows the edge of Hampstead Heath into Golders Green and Hampstead Garden Suburb. The southern end leads off North End Way. Notable residents on or near the street include Nikolaus Pevsner, the founder of the eponymous Architectural Guides who is commemorated with a blue plaque just off Hampstead Way at 2, Wildwood Terrace, William Blake and John Linnell who lived at Wyldes Farm and the architect Thomas Smith Tait on Hampstead Way itself.North End tube station in the street was due to open on the Northern Line extension in the Edwardian Era, but it was abandoned uncompleted in 1906 when a planned housing development was instead turned into the Hampstead Heath Extension. A number of buildings in the street are now listed including Wyldes Farm (dating back until at least the seventeenth century) and the 1920s Heathcroft block of apartments.

Golders Green Crematorium and Mausoleum was the first crematorium to be opened in London, and one of the oldest crematoria in Britain. The land for the crematorium was purchased in 1900, costing £6,000 (the equivalent of £135,987 in 2021), and the crematorium was opened in 1902 by Sir Henry Thompson.Golders Green Crematorium, as it is usually called, is in Hoop Lane, off Finchley Road, Golders Green, London NW11, ten minutes' walk from Golders Green Underground station. It is directly opposite the Golders Green Jewish Cemetery (Golders Green is an area with a large Jewish population). The crematorium is secular, accepts all faiths and non-believers; clients may arrange their own type of service or remembrance event and choose whatever music they wish.The crematorium gardens are listed at Grade I in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Golders Green Jewish Cemetery, usually known as Hoop Lane Jewish Cemetery, is a Jewish cemetery in Golders Green, London NW11. It is maintained by a joint burial committee representing members of the West London Synagogue and the S&P Sephardi Community (the Spanish and Portuguese Jews Congregation).

North Western Reform Synagogue (usually known as Alyth, although Alyth is strictly speaking the name of the Jewish community that was founded in 1933; the synagogue is Alyth Shul) at Temple Fortune in north west London. The synagogue was built in Alyth Gardens in 1936, on land carved out from the West London Synagogue’s cemetery in Hoop Lane. Alyth is one of the largest Reform synagogues in the United Kingdom. It has around 2500 adult and 1000 child members. In 2021 its members approved a £6 million upgrade to the synagogue building.

The Barnett Homestead is a grade II listed building in Erskine Hill, Hampstead Garden Suburb, in north London, England. Designed by architect John Soutar, the building comprises 12 apartments intended for soldiers' widows and their children, and its construction was funded by shipbuilder and philanthropist Sir Alfred Yarrow in 1916. The building was given its name as a memorial to clergyman and social reformer Samuel Augustus Barnett, who was a friend of Yarrow's. It was listed in November 1996. The building is symmetrically designed in a Georgian style, though Soutar adopted a cottage vernacular with dormer windows. A metal plaque on the west face of the south wing bears the inscription: "These cottages were built by Sir Alfred Yarrow Baronet out of his great respect for and in affectionate memory of his friend Canon S. A. Barnett, whose life was spent in assisting all with whom he came in contact to become both nobler and happier."Barnett was married to Henrietta Barnett, who founded The Institute (later renamed Henrietta Barnett School) nearby in 1911.

Hampstead Garden Suburb is an elevated suburb of London, north of Hampstead, west of Highgate and east of Golders Green. It is known for its intellectual, liberal, artistic, musical and literary associations. It is an example of early twentieth-century domestic architecture and town planning in the London Borough of Barnet, northwest London. The master plan was prepared by Barry Parker and Sir Raymond Unwin. Comprising just over 5,000 properties, and home to around 16,000 people, undivided houses with individual gardens are a key feature. The area enjoys landscaped garden squares, several communal parks and Hampstead Heath Extension.

Temple Fortune is a place in the London Borough of Barnet to the north of Golders Green. It is principally a shopping district used by residents of the Hampstead Garden Suburb. Between here and Golders Green, at Hoop Lane are two cemeteries – Golders Green Jewish Cemetery and Golders Green Crematorium. Religious buildings include the Catholic Church of St Edward the Confessor, St. Mary & Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church, and North Western Reform Synagogue (also known as Alyth Shul).

St Edward the Confessor Church is a Catholic parish church in Temple Fortune, Golders Green, Borough of Barnet, London. It was built from 1914 to 1915, and designed by Arthur Young in the Gothic Revival style. It is located on the Finchley Road, on the corner with Hoop Lane, next to Golders Green Jewish Cemetery. In 2016, it was designated a Grade II listed building.

The Golders Green Hippodrome was built in 1913 by Bertie Crewe as a 3,000-seat music hall, to serve North London and the new London Underground Northern line expansion into Golders Green in the London Borough of Barnet, London, England. Taken over by the BBC in the 1960s as a television studio, it has been put to more recent use as a radio studio and multi-purpose concert venue. In 2007, it became an evangelical church building. In 2017 it was acquired by Markaz El Tathgheef El Eslami (Centre for Islamic Enlightening). It was to be converted into an Islamic centre, but residents objected, and Barnet council deferred a decision.In October 2021 Hillsong Church bought the Hippodrome, with the intention of holding Sunday services there.
