Winmarleigh Hall

Winmarleigh is a village and civil parish of the Borough of Wyre in Lancashire, England. The population taken at the 2011 census was 273. The village, which is north-west of Garstang, has an agricultural college, and the Duchy of Lancaster has an estate here. This includes the local pub, the Patten Arms. It is home to the great manor of Winmarleigh Hall. Constructed to the order of the Duchy of Lancaster, it was given to the first Lord Winmarleigh. Since then the house has been donated to NST Travel Group, who have turned the grounds into an outdoor education programme for schools across the country.Winmarleigh railway station opened in 1870 on the Garstang and Knot-End Railway. It was renamed Nateby railway station in 1902 and closed in 1930.The school and school house, which date from 1870, were designed by Lancaster architects Paley and Austin. The current Lord of the Manor of Winmarleigh is Shawn Casini. This was re-enacted in 2023.

St Luke's Church is in the village of Winmarleigh, Lancashire, England. The church was built in 1875–1876 by Paley and Austin, and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Wyre is a local government district with borough status on the coast of Lancashire, England. The council is based in Poulton-le-Fylde and the borough also contains the towns of Cleveleys, Fleetwood, Garstang, Preesall and Thornton, along with numerous villages and surrounding rural areas. Some of the borough's built-up areas form part of the wider Blackpool urban area. Eastern parts of the borough lie within the Forest of Bowland, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The borough is named after the River Wyre, which runs through the area and meets the sea at Fleetwood. There are no road or rail connections between the parts of the borough either side of the Wyre estuary, and it is necessary to cross the neighbouring Fylde district in order to travel between the two parts of Wyre, or else use the Wyre Estuary Ferry between Fleetwood and Knott End. The neighbouring districts are Blackpool, Fylde, Preston, Ribble Valley and Lancaster.

Nateby railway station served the village Nateby in Lancashire, England. It was originally named Winmarleigh railway station after the landowner at that time and was renamed after his death in 1902. Originally only a halt with the platform on the southern side of the line, it received a passing loop in 1909 and a second platform on the northern side, and by 1910 it also had a goods siding with a cattle dock. Passenger services were withdrawn in 1930, and the station closed altogether in 1950.

Nateby is a village and a civil parish in the Wyre district, in the English county of Lancashire near the town of Garstang. Nateby has a primary school, a place of worship and a post office. It once had a railway station called Nateby railway station, but the station closed on 31 March 1930. In 2001 the parish had a population of 475, increasing to 584 at the 2011 census.The manor belongs to the executors of the late R. Thompson, Esq. The admiral and MP Roger Strickland was the second son of Walter Strickland of Nateby Hall.

Cabus is a village and civil parish in Lancashire, England. It lies 12 miles north of Preston, 9 miles south of Lancaster and 16 miles north east of Blackpool. The electoral ward of Cabus, which includes some northern suburbs of Garstang and a rural area around the village, had a population of 1,573 in 2001 and lies in the Wyre district. The population of the parish was 1,522 at the 2011 Census.

St Thomas' Church is a Church of England church in Garstang, a market town in Lancashire, England. It is an active Church of England parish church in the Diocese of Blackburn and the archdeaconry of Lancaster. The church was built in 1770 as a chapel of ease to St Helen's Church in nearby Kirkland and was later assigned its own parish. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Cogie Hill railway station, also known as Cogie Hill Halt railway station and Cogie Hill Crossing railway station served the village of Winmarleigh, Lancashire, England, from 1870 to 1930 on the Garstang and Knot-End Railway.

The Royal Oak Hotel is a public house and hotel in Market Place in Garstang, Lancashire, England. A Grade II listed building, the pub is owned by Robinsons Brewery. It is rendered with sandstone dressings and a slate roof. There are two storeys and five bays with a plinth and quoins. The windows are sashes; they and the doorway have rusticated surrounds.

Garstang Town Hall is a municipal building in the High Street in Garstang, Lancashire, England. The structure, which currently accommodates two shops and a Royal British Legion Club, is a Grade II listed building.

Wyre and Preston North is a county constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Created in the most recent fifth periodic review of constituencies by the Boundary Commission for England, it elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post voting system. It was formed from parts of the Ribble Valley, Fylde, and Lancaster and Wyre constituencies. The seat is due to be abolished for the next general election.The current MP is Ben Wallace of the Conservative Party, former Secretary of State for Defence. On 15 July 2023, Wallace announced that he intended to step down as Defence Secretary at the next Cabinet reshuffle, and that he would not be seeking re-election as an MP at the next general election.
