Garstang Rural District was a rural district in the county of Lancashire, England from 1894 to 1974.

The seat is due to be abolished for the next general election.The current MP is Ben Wallace of the Conservative Party, former Secretary of State for Defence. On 15 July 2023, Wallace announced that he intended to step down as Defence Secretary at the next Cabinet reshuffle, and that he would not be seeking re-election as an MP at the next general election.

Garstang is an ancient market town and civil parish within the Wyre borough of Lancashire, England. It is 10 miles (16 km) north of the city of Preston and the same distance south of Lancaster. In 2011, the parish had a total resident population of 4,268; the larger Garstang Built-up Area, which includes the adjoining settlements of Bonds and Cabus, had population of 6,779. Garstang is famous for being the world's first ever Fairtrade Town.

The Royal Oak Hotel is a public house and hotel in Market Place in Garstang, Lancashire, England. A Grade II listed building, the pub is owned by Robinsons Brewery. It is rendered with sandstone dressings and a slate roof. There are two storeys and five bays with a plinth and quoins. The windows are sashes; they and the doorway have rusticated surrounds.

St Thomas' Church is a Church of England church in Garstang, a market town in Lancashire, England. It is an active Church of England parish church in the Diocese of Blackburn and the archdeaconry of Lancaster. The church was built in 1770 as a chapel of ease to St Helen's Church in nearby Kirkland and was later assigned its own parish. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Scorton is a small village near the River Wyre, in the Wyre district of Lancashire, England. It is located north of Garstang. The name means "farmstead near a ditch or ravine."

Bonds is a village in Lancashire, England. It lies immediately south of Garstang town centre, on the opposite bank of the River Wyre. It is bounded by the Lancaster Canal to the south and west. Garstang, Bonds, Bowgreave and Catterall form an almost continuous built-up area, which was bypassed by the A6 road in 1928. (Some sources state, incorrectly, that this occurred in 1926.). While it is often regarded as a de facto suburb of Garstang, Bonds forms part of a different civil parish: Barnacre-with-Bonds. The Roman Catholic church of St Mary and St Michael is a Gothic Revival building consecrated in 1858, superseding a chapel built in 1784.) 1⁄2 mile (800 m) east of the village is the ruin of Greenhalgh Castle, built in 1490 for Thomas Stanley.
