Loudoun Hill

The Battle of Loudoun Hill was fought on 10 May 1307, between a Scots force led by King Robert the Bruce and the English commanded by Aymer de Valence, Earl of Pembroke. It took place beneath Loudoun Hill, in Ayrshire, and ended in a victory for King Robert. It was the king's first major military victory. The battlefield was added to the Inventory of Historic Battlefields in Scotland in 2012.

Drumclog Moss is a flat wilderness of broken bog and quagmire in Lanarkshire, Scotland. The Covenanters defeated Claverhouse's dragoons at the site in the 1679 Battle of Drumclog. The name Drumclog may have Brittonic origins. The first part of the name may be *drum, meaning "a back, a ridge", and the second *clog, "a rock, a crag, a steep cliff" (Welsh drum-clog), in place names meaning a standing stone or other stones of perceived significance. The second part of the name could also be the cognate Gaelic element clach.

Darvel Music Festival is a music festival that has been held in the town of Darvel, East Ayrshire, Ayrshire, Scotland, since 2002. The Darvel Music Festival is a community-led initiative, managed and supported by the Darvel Music Company. It features ten days of music with seven concerts and twenty five international and national performers at Darvel Town Hall. The festival, which occurs during the month of May, began to run bi-annually in 2009. People from not only the Irvine Valley near Darvel, Scotland, but elsewhere in the United Kingdom and the world attend the festival—increasing tourism and benefitting the economy in the area.
