Charlton Athletic Women's Football Club (CAWFC) play in the Women's Championship. Founded in 1991 as Bromley Borough, later under the name Croydon Women's F.C., between 2000–2007 as Charlton Athletic, the club was one of the most successful women's teams in England. After the parent club's relegation from the Premier League, the women's team was controversially disbanded in the summer of 2007, causing almost all of the senior squad to depart, although later a rescue sponsorship package was formed allowing the women's set up to continue. CAWFC won the FA Women's Premier League Southern Division title in 2017–18. On 27 May 2018, they beat Northern Division champions Blackburn Rovers Ladies FC 2–1 in a play-off final at Bramall Lane, Sheffield, and thus gained promotion to the FA Women's Championship, the second tier of women's football, for the season 2018–19.

Tower Hamlets Football Club is a football club based in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. They are currently members of the Eastern Counties League Division One South and play at the Phoenix Sports Ground in Barnehurst.

Phoenix Sports Football Club is an English football club located in Barnehurst, Kent. The club plays in the Isthmian League South East Division. Phoenix Sports spent most of its history in the Kent County Football League, with a six-year stint in the Spartan League in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The club was accepted into the newly formed Kent Invicta Football League for the inaugural 2011–12 season.

Noviomagus, also known as Noviomagus Cantiacorum (Latin for "Noviomagus of the Cantiaci") to distinguish it from other places with that name, was a Roman settlement in southeastern Britain. It is named on Iter II of the Antonine Itinerary, ten Roman miles from Londinium and nineteen to Vagniacis, thence nine miles to Durobrivae. Its location has been given as modern Crayford, but is now suggested to be near West Wickham following excavation of the Roman site there; the distances also fit West Wickham better than Crayford.Thousands of sherds of pottery and hundreds of Roman coins have been found near West Wickham, but only slight evidence of housing. The main activity at the site in the Roman period may have been trading in an open-air market, rather than settlement.

Bexleyheath and Crayford is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2005 by David Evennett, a Conservative.It was created in 1997 from parts of the former seats of Bexleyheath and Erith & Crayford.

Braeburn Park is a 22.3-hectare (55-acre) nature reserve in Crayford in the London Borough of Bexley. It is managed by the London Wildlife Trust, and includes Wansunt Pit, a 1.9-hectare (4.7-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest.The area was once used for market gardening; there were orchards, and the Old Crayford Gun Club had been based here. Later, like much of the nearby Dartford Heath, the site was extensively quarried (notably for sand), until it was finally infilled and abandoned in the 1980s; after which time it gradually reverted to nature. Habitats now include ruderal scrub, grassland and woodland. There is a wide variety of invertebrates, including rare ones such as skipping flower beetles and picture-winged flies. There is also a pond, and many common bird species. Reptiles catalogued here include the grass snake, common lizard and slow-worm. There is access to the reserve from Lower Station Road and Galloway Drive, Crayford.A large housing development called Braeburn Park was built here by Taylor Wimpey in 2000. A promised adjacent 17 hectare nature conservation area was finally added in 2014 thanks to resources and management provided by The Land Trust and London Wildlife Trust.

Erith and Crayford was a constituency which returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the UK's Parliament. It was created for the 1955 general election, and abolished for the 1997 general election, when it was replaced by the new constituencies of Erith & Thamesmead and Bexleyheath & Crayford. For its final 32 years it was in the London Borough of Bexley, south-east London but for its first ten years instead in Kent, divided among two council districts, below the higher tier of Kent County Council.

Crayford railway station is in the London Borough of Bexley in south-east London, in Travelcard Zone 6. It is 15 miles 25 chains (24.6 km) down the line from London Charing Cross. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Southeastern. Down trains run eastbound to Dartford, Gravesend and to London Cannon Street via Slade Green, and up trains run westbound to Cannon Street and London Charing Cross via Lewisham. Ticket barriers are in operation.
