Melody is the name of a residential high-rise completed in May 2016 in the Arts & Entertainment District neighborhood of Miami, Florida, U.S.A. The building rises about 467 feet (142 m) with 36 floors and contains nearly 500 rental units. It is located about one block from the Adrienne Arsht Center/Omni Metromover and Metrobus hub.

Atlantis University is a private for-profit university in Miami. It offers degree programs through its schools of Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Health Care, and Foreign Languages. The university offers graduate, undergraduate, diploma and certification courses both onsite and online.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts is a performing arts center located in Miami, Florida. It is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States.The center was partly built on the site of a former Sears department store; an Art Deco building constructed in 1929, pre-dating the Art Deco hotels on Ocean Drive. It was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places in 1997 as Sears, Roebuck and Company Department Store. However, by 2001, the only surviving part of the original structure was the seven-story tower designed by Sears as its store's grand entrance. The department store space itself had been demolished and developers decided to preserve the tower and incorporate it into the new performing arts center. It has been adaptively restored as a bookstore-café called the Café at Books & Books.

The Sears, Roebuck and Company Department Store in Miami, Florida was an Art Deco building built in 1929 for Sears, Roebuck and Company. The building was the first known implementation of Art Deco architecture in the county and was spectacular. It was followed a year later by the Shrine Building (Miami, Florida), an application of Art Deco with local Seminole Indian motifs added as an interesting twist. Both were covered in a 1988 study of Downtown Miami historic resources, but were not NRHP-listed due to owner objections at the time.: 11, 30  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 8, 1997. Only its tower remains. After the area's drastic decline in the early 1980s, the building's intense structural decay, and declining sales, the store closed for good in 1983. The building remained vacant and abandoned and was the subject to graffiti and vandalism. Sears was unable to sell the property and it donated the site to Dade County in 1992. That same year, the Sears signs were removed. The building listing was added to the National Register on August 8, 1997. By 2001, the only surviving part of the original structure was a seven-story tower. The original department store space had been demolished. The tower was preserved and incorporated it into the new Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, built in 2006. The Sears building at one point absorbed a former Burdines department store. The Art Deco building was constructed in 1929, predating the Art Deco hotels on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach.

The Collins Bridge was a bridge that crossed Biscayne Bay between Miami and Miami Beach, Florida. At the time it was completed, it was the longest wooden bridge in the world. It was built by farmer and developer John S. Collins (1837–1928) with financial assistance from automotive parts and racing pioneer Carl G. Fisher. Fisher, an auto parts magnate, loaned Collins $50,000 in 1911 ($1.6 million, adjusted for current inflation) to complete the bridge when Collins' money ran out. Collins, then 75 years old, traded Fisher 200 acres (81 ha) of land on Miami Beach for the loan. The 2.5-mile (4.0 km) wooden toll bridge opened on June 12, 1913, providing a critical link to the newly established Miami Beach, formerly accessible only by a ferry service. The total cost of the Collins Bridge was in excess of $150,000. The middle of the bridge had a steel lattice truss design, while the ends were primarily wooden, as well as the deck being wooden for the entire length.The original wooden causeway was replaced in 1925 by a series of arch drawbridges and renamed the Venetian Causeway.

Miami International University of Art & Design (formerly the International Fine Arts College) was a private, for-profit art school in Miami, Florida. It was owned and operated by the non-profit Education Principle Foundation (aka Colbeck Foundation). The university was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and was a member of the Art Institutes system of schools. All Art Institute schools closed on September 30, 2023.The university had programs in design, media and visual arts, fashion, and culinary arts. Its sister schools were the Art Institutes, a collection of schools once owned by Education Management Corporation (EDMC) and Dream Center Education Holdings (DCEH). Established in 1965, the university provided career-focused education in the applied arts and design. It was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.Miami International University of Art & Design had branch campuses in Tampa, Florida and Dallas.

School Board is a Metromover station near the northwestern end of Downtown, Miami, Florida, south of Midtown and west of the Arts & Entertainment District. It is the northern terminus of the people mover system. This station is located near the intersection of Northeast 15th Avenue and Miami Place, about one block north of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Administration Building. It opened to service May 26, 1994. School Board has consistently been one of the lowest used stations in the system, with well under 1,000 riders a day. As of 2017, two large apartment buildings totaling over 1,200 units were under construction nearby, such as Canvas and Square Station, Art Plaza, and Miami Plaza, with others planned. Prior to this, the station was surrounded by mostly empty lots.

On August 5, 1974, at 10:24 a.m. EDT, a Federal office building housing the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Miami Field Division office in downtown Miami, Florida, United States, collapsed after the roof caved in, causing the deaths of seven DEA employees and injuries to 15 others.Initial speculation centered on a theory that the cars parked on a six-inch-thick slab of concrete on the roof were too heavy, causing the collapse. Investigations later concluded that resurfacing of the parking lot combined with salt in the sand had eroded the supporting steel structure of the building, weakening it catastrophically.

The Kentucky Home (also known as the Anderson Hotel) was a historic home in Miami, Florida. It was located at 1221 and 1227 Northeast 1st Avenue. On January 4, 1989, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, but afterwards it was demolished.

Adrienne Arsht Center station, formerly Omni station, is a Metromover station in the Arts & Entertainment District neighborhood of Downtown, Miami, Florida, United States. The station is adjacent to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, just west of The Miami Herald building and the Venetian Causeway, and directly south of the MacArthur Causeway. This station is located near the intersection of Northeast 15th Avenue and Biscayne Boulevard (U.S. 1). It opened to service May 26, 1994, as Omni station.

The Fire Station No. 2 (also known as the Old Fire Station No. 2) is a historic fire station in Miami, Florida. On January 4, 1989, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. A proposal for it to be designated as a City of Miami historic site was prepared by the city's historic preservation program, and it was so designated.The building is now owned by a community redevelopment agency (CRA) called the Omni CRA. Ownership was transferred from the Miami. In late 2011, the Omni CRA launched a US$2M renovation in order to refurbish the building and use it as the CRA's main office. The nearby Omni Center was purchased in October 2011 by the Genting Group in an effort to establish a Las Vegas-style gambling operation. The vacant Fire Station No. 2 was constructed in 1926 by architect August C. Geiger, the tenth registered architect in Florida. The groundbreaking ceremony took place onsite on December 19, 2011.

Omni International Mall was a shopping mall that opened in February 1977 in the northern environs of Downtown Miami's Arts & Entertainment District (then Omni) in Dade County, Florida, United States. The mall was built in 1977, attached to an existing Jordan Marsh store, with J.C. Penney as the other anchor. It was a mixed-use complex, combining a traditional retail mall with offices and hotel space. Burdines later took over the Jordan Marsh building, closing it in 1992. J.C. Penney closed in 1998. After several years of decreasing sales, the mall closed in 2000, but the adjacent hotel remained open. Part of the mall portion has since been converted to use for Miami International University School of Art & Design. Crystal Cruises took up residence before its bankruptcy. A demolition permit was applied for the old JCPenney section.
