Nurlutta railway station

Hilra railway station is a former railway station on the defunct Penfield line which is located in the northern Adelaide suburb of Salisbury North. It is located 21.7 kilometres from the Adelaide station. The station was located parallel to Langford Terrace, adjacent to the freight train line, and inline roughly to Compton Street. The station was opened in 1941 along with the Penfield line. The station name is derived from the "native word for wind". The station was different from the others as it had up and down stepdown platforms about 61 metres long. The station was unstaffed and had a small shelter. There were similar facilities on the side of the adjacent Port Pirie line. The station had closed by 3 February 1988, with the steps on the down platform (which was on the 'main line' side at the time) having been removed. The station is now long gone, it was probably demolished in 1991, when the line closed. There are several buildings on the old Hilra station site, including a Streets factory.

Salisbury High School (founded in 1959) is a secondary public school located on Farley Grove, Salisbury North, South Australia, Australia. In 2005 it became an IB World School, and it retained this status in an evaluation in 2010. In 2016, Salisbury High converted back to an Australian Curriculum school to focus on improving areas such as STEM and Arts. In addition to catering for it runs three Senior School pathways (a University Pathway, a Vocational Education and Training Pathway and a Community Studies Pathway) that lead to further studies, work, or community service.

GMH railway station Is a former station that spurred off the Gawler line. The station was located within the General Motors Holden car manufacturing factory in the northern Adelaide suburb of Elizabeth South. The start of the spur was approximately halfway between the Elizabeth South and Nurlutta stations. It closed in 1992, and the station demolished, but some of the track that leads to the station is still intact. As of 20 January 2011, the line itself has now been covered over leaving only bits of the line intact near GMH and towards the Gawler line. Primarily an industrial station, it was only served by trains during shift change times at Holden. There were two platforms of step-down construction. Most trains ran express between Adelaide and Salisbury before terminating here.

PBA-FM 89.7 (call sign: 5PBA) is a community radio station in Adelaide, South Australia, and broadcasts to the Northern Suburbs.

Temporary Generation North and its smaller sibling Temporary Generation South were gas turbine power stations in South Australia. They were bought by the Government of South Australia in 2017 as a response to the 2016 South Australian blackout and load-shedding in February 2017. Temporary Generation North was five open cycle gas turbines installed at the former Holden site in Elizabeth South, a northern suburb of Adelaide. It was closed in 2021 or early 2022 so that the turbines could be moved to become the Snapper Point Power Station at Outer Harbor. The generators were purchased to be used only in emergency shortfalls in electricity supply to the grid, such as in extreme weather. Both sets were first used on 24 January 2019 to deal with a supply shortfall in Victoria.The intent of the Weatherill ALP state government was that the turbines would be converted from diesel fuel to natural gas and moved to a single location while remaining owned by the government.In August 2019, the state government (following the 2018 election, now controlled by the Liberal party) announced that it had arranged 25-year leases of the power stations to two different companies, with the leases taking effect from May 2020. Both companies operate wind farms in South Australia. The five northern generators were leased to Nexif Energy and are being relocated to a new site at Outer Harbor and operating on natural gas, intended to be before the end of 2020. Nexif Energy also proposes to convert them to combined cycle with a steam turbine in the following few years.

Salisbury railway station is a railway station and bus interchange in the northern Adelaide suburb of Salisbury. It is on the Gawler line, 20.2 kilometres (12.6 mi) from Adelaide station. Adjoining it is a large park & ride carpark, making it one of the busiest stations on the Adelaide suburban rail system.

Salisbury is a northern suburb in Adelaide, South Australia. It is the seat of the City of Salisbury, and in the South Australian Legislative Assembly electoral district of Ramsay and the Australian House of Representatives division of Spence. The suburb is a service area for the City of Salisbury district, with an abundance of parklands, shops, cafes and restaurants. Parabanks Shopping Centre is also located in Salisbury, which includes Woolworths, Coles and Big W as its signature retailers.

St Augustine's Catholic Church in the Salisbury Catholic Parish forms part of the Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide. Located in the northern suburbs of the city of Adelaide, South Australia, the parish's boundaries roughly coincide with the limits of the City of Salisbury. In the Salisbury Catholic Parish, there are three mass centres: St Augustine, St Finbar, the Holy Family; three parish schools: St Augustine School, Holy Family School, and Thomas More College; the Pioneer cemetery; and some parish and migrant groups and communities, as well as charities.The Parish celebrates a biannual carnival on the eve of Lent.

Penfield 1 railway station was located on the Penfield line located in what is now the northern Adelaide suburb of Edinburgh. It was located 23.2 kilometres from Adelaide station. The station opened between 1940 and 1942 and had a platform which was 213.4 metres long. The station closed on 4 January 1991, along with Penfield 2 station and the line. The station has since been demolished.

Elizabeth South is a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Playford. It was established in the late 1950s as one of the earliest residential suburbs of the planned City of Elizabeth. As for its neighbours including Elizabeth and Elizabeth North, it was configured as a local community around a small shopping centre containing a supermarket, bank, hotel and service station along with other shops. The western boundary is the Gawler railway line, with predominantly current and former Defence land on the other side, including the South Australian branch of the Defence Science and Technology Group opposite Elizabeth South railway station. The suburb is situated on both sides of Philip Highway. The northern part of the suburb (north of Hogarth Road) is a residential suburb, with corresponding schools, shops and other community services. South of Hogarth Road, the suburb is industrial, including automotive and Defence manufacturing, dominated by the large Holden factory, which opened in 1960 and closed in 2017.The water tower near the railway line is 44.2 metres (145 ft) tall and the tank holds 250,000 imperial gallons (1,100,000 l; 300,000 US gal). It was built around 1940 (before Elizabeth was established) to supply the munitions factory that is now repurposed as Defence Science and Technology.

Elizabeth Vale is a suburb in the northern extent of Adelaide, South Australia. It was established in 1955. Its main roads are Main North Road to the east and John Rice Avenue which bisects the suburb. The southern boundary is the northern bank of the Little Para River. Elizabeth Vale has two hospitals, the Lyell McEwin Hospital, a public teaching hospital, and the private Central Districts Hospital.

The District Council of Yatala North was a local government area of South Australia on the central Adelaide Plains from 1868 to 1933. It was split from the abolished District Council of Yatala on 18 June 1868. The council area ranged approximately from Dry Creek in the south to the Little Para River in the north.
