Lakeland High School (Michigan)

Walled Lake Northern (WLN) is a public high school in the Walled Lake Consolidated School District, located in Commerce Township, Michigan in Greater Detroit. It was completed in April, 2003 by TMP Associates, Inc. at a cost of $67.5 million. The school serves 1612 students.

White Lake Charter Township is a charter township of Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. Together with its two unincorporated communities, the township makes up part of the Detroit metropolitan area outskirts. The Andrews-Leggett House is a single-family home located at 722 Farr Street in Commerce Township, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The house contains the only documented examples of 1830s-40s stenciled wall decorations in Michigan.

Mandon Lake is a 26-acre (110,000 m2) lake located in White Lake Township of Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The geographic coordinates are 42°37′25″N 83°28′15″W The lake is affectionately known as the "Mighty Mandon", because despite its small size all sports are permitted.

Commerce Township, officially the Charter Township of Commerce, is a charter township of Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 40,186 at the 2010 census.As a western suburb of Metro Detroit, Commerce Township is about 32 miles (51.5 km) northwest of the city of Detroit. The cities of Walled Lake and Wixom border to the south, and the township contains the village of Wolverine Lake. Originally settled as a resort destination, the township has seen a large population increase of permanent residents due to the townships rural environment and recreation areas, including most of Proud Lake State Recreation Area. The Huron River runs mostly north–south through the township, and the township also contains numerous lakes. The northern terminus of M-5 is within Commerce Township. This highway was originally meant to connect the spur route Interstate 275 back to Interstate 75, but the project was canceled due to the difficulty of construction around the township's numerous lakes, as well as the high property value of the area.

Highland State Recreation Area is a 5,900-acre (2,400 ha) state recreation area in the southeast part of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located in north Oakland County, 14 miles (23 km) west of Pontiac. Haven Hill Natural Area, within the Highland State Recreation Area, was designated in 1976 as a National Natural Landmark.

Cooley Lake is a private, all-sports, 86-acre (35 ha) Oakland County, Michigan lake located in White Lake Township.

Proud Lake State Recreation Area is a state-managed public park and recreation area located in Commerce Township, Oakland County, Michigan, near Wixom. It is under the jurisdiction of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The recreation area has a total area of 3,030 acres (12.3 km2) and offers various outdoor activities including 20 miles (32 km) of hiking trails (9 miles of which are open to horses and mountain bikes), cross-country skiing, fishing in the Huron River, hunting (in limited areas), canoeing, and picnicking. A campground has 130 campsites and a 24-person cabin for rent.

Pontiac Lake is an all-sports, 640-acre (260 ha) Oakland County, Michigan lake along the Huron River. The lake lies primarily in White Lake Township, while a small portion of the lake lies in Waterford Township.It is the fifth largest lake in the county. Pontiac Lake is a public lake with a public boat launch.The Pontiac Lake Recreation Area is located at the lake.

White Lake is an all-sports, 540-acre (220 ha) lake in White Lake Township, Michigan.It is the sixth largest lake in Oakland County.Potawatomi, Chippewa and Ottawa Native Americans lived, traveled and camped in this area including on the shores of White Lake which they called “white” or “clear” and that is where the name of the lake and township originated.

Pontiac Lake State Recreation Area is located in White Lake Township, Oakland County, Michigan, just west of Waterford, Michigan. It is 3,745 acres (15.16 km2) in size.
