St Mary's Church, Longnewton

Longnewton (also known as Long Newton) is a village and civil parish in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and ceremonial county of County Durham, England. The population taken at the 2001 Census was 733 increasing to 828 at the 2011 Census. It is situated between Darlington and Stockton-on-Tees. The village is mostly privately owned dwellings, and has a public house, The Derry, St. Mary's church and Saint Mary's Church of England primary school. Longnewton is not home to a secondary school however it is in the catchment area for Egglescliffe Secondary School, which is located 3 miles away and around a 10-minute drive. Located in the village is also a community centre, most commonly known as the Wilson Centre which has 3 different venue rooms, for a variety of activities and occasions. Longnewton is also a 10 minutes drive north of Teesside International Airport. In March 2007 a new bypass and junction on the A66 which runs just north of the village was created after almost 30 years of proposals, the junction was fully open to traffic in May 2008. A new roundabout has been put in place to service Teesside International Airport and ease traffic levels around the surrounding area.

Elton is a village and civil parish in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and ceremonial county of County Durham, England. It is situated a short distance to the west of Stockton-on-Tees. St. John's Church is located in Elton. It is a Grade II listed building, and was built around 900 years ago.A public house called The Sutton Arms has been in Elton for 122 years, but closed in 2021 following the retirement of its owners. It is currently under new ownership but there is no news on a potential time for its reopening.

Teesside Airport railway station is on the Tees Valley line which runs between Bishop Auckland and Saltburn via Darlington in County Durham, England. The station is 5.5 miles (9 km) east of Darlington and about 1 mile (1.6 km) from Teesside International Airport, which owns the station. It is managed by Northern Trains, which also operated the limited service calling at the station prior to its temporary closure in 2022. Teesside Airport is one of Britain's least-used railway stations, with an estimated 338 passenger journeys made during 2019/20. In both 2012/13 and 2013/14 it was the least-used station in the country, serving just eight passengers per year. In 2020/21, due to decreased travel throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the station saw only two passenger journeys made.While remaining officially open, the station has seen its service suspended since May 2022 with the one operational platform condemned as unsafe. Because of this, there were only 2 passengers in the year beginning April 2022.

Urlay Nook is a village in the County Durham, England. It is part of the Egglescliffe parish in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees. The village is dominated by the site of the former Elementis chromium chemicals plant and the Admiralty Ecology Site, both of which are owned by Elementis. In March 2011 work was underway to dismantle the chemicals plant, and by November 2011 the work was nearing completion. Urlay Nook contains the Tactical Training Centre for Durham Constabulary and Cleveland Police.

Briarcroft Pasture (grid reference NZ394193) is a 1.76 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in County Durham, England notified in 2004.

RAF Middleton St George is a former Royal Air Force (RAF) and Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Bomber Command station during the Second World War. It was located in County Durham, 6 mi (9.7 km) east of Darlington, England. The station's motto was Shield and Deter. The aerodrome remains active as Teesside International Airport.

Redmarshall is a village and civil parish in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and ceremonial county of County Durham, England. The population as of the 2011 census was 287. Redmarshall is situated to the west of Stockton-on-Tees, just north of the A66 road which is one of the main trunk routes through Teesside. It is home to the Church of Saint Cuthbert and a pub called The Ship. It has a green in the centre and roads such as Church Lane, Coniston Crescent and Windermere Avenue, named after waters in the Lake District. Ferguson Way is the newest addition to the village. A small wood is a short way out of the village and down a bank past Ferguson Way. There is a new housing estate called the langtons being built on the old remains of the mains care home.

St Cuthbert's Church is in the village of Redmarshall, County Durham, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Stockton, the archdeaconry of Auckland, and the diocese of Durham. Its benefice is united with those of five nearby parishes. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.

The Old Rectory in the village of Redmarshall, County Durham, England, stands to the northeast of St Cuthbert's Church. The rectory, together with its adjoining balustrade, is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade X listed building. The earlier rectory was rebuilt in 1845 at a cost of £1,326 (equivalent to £140,000 in 2021), of which £600 came from Queen Anne's Bounty. It was designed by the Lancaster architect Edmund Sharpe. At that time the rector of St Cuthbert's Church was Revd Thomas Austin, father of Hubert Austin, who was later to join Sharpe's successor, E. G. Paley, in the Lancaster practice. The rectory is constructed in red brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. It has an L-shaped plan, is in three storeys, and is Gothic in style. Above the entrance door is a plaque inscribed "A.D. 1845 EDWDO: MALTBY EPISCPO: THA AUSTIN RECTRE: DOMINE DIRIGE NOS". It has since been divided into a house and two flats.

Aislaby ( AYZ-əl-bi) is a small village and civil parish on the north bank of the River Tees within the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and the ceremonial county of County Durham, England. It is located to the west of Eaglescliffe and Yarm. The name, first attested as Asulue(s)bi in 1086, is of Viking origin and means "Aslak's farm." Aislaby was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086.
