London Heritage Farm

The Alaksen National Wildlife Area is located on Westham Island in the city of Delta, British Columbia. It is an important stopover point for many species of birds migrating along the Pacific Flyway.

George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary is a protected area in Delta, British Columbia, Canada, and is part of the Fraser River estuary, designated a site of Hemispheric Importance by the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network. The area includes managed wetlands, marshes and dikes. The 300-hectare (740-acre) area has numerous walking trails, bird blinds, lookouts, and a gift shop. It has resident nesting sites for sandhill cranes, bald eagles, mallards, spotted towhees and many others. Migrants include, lesser snow geese, greater and lesser yellowlegs, long-billed dowitchers, and western sandpipers. Over 250 species have so far been recorded in the sanctuary. The sanctuary is open year-round from 9 am to 4 pm local time.

Westham Island is an island located near Ladner, British Columbia, Canada within the City of Delta, which in turn is part of Greater Vancouver, Canada. The George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary for migratory birds is located at the northern end of the island. The Alaksen National Wildlife Area is also located on the island. The island is accessible via the Westham Island Bridge. The island was named by Harry Trim who came from Westham, Sussex.: 292 

École Secondaire Robert A. McMath Secondary School is a high school located on Garry Street in the Steveston neighbourhood of Richmond, British Columbia. Named in honour of Robert Alexander McMath (1915-1996). McMath served with the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada during the Second World War. In 1951, McMath was elected as a school trustee in the city of Richmond, and from 1957 until his retirement in 1993 he served on Richmond's Municipal Council.The school opened in 1998 and serves grades 8 to 12. It is a bilingual school providing a French immersion program. The school is fed into by the nearby elementary schools of Lord Byng Elementary School, Westwind Elementary School, Manoah Steves Elementary School, John G. Diefenbaker Elementary School, Dixon Elementary School and Homma Elementary School as well as all French immersion students from 15 other elementary schools in western Richmond. As of 2023, the current principal is Mr. J Johnstone and the vice principals are Ms. A Naidu and Mr. T Ngo. The school's sports teams are all called the McMath Wildcats. McMath uses the 2 semester system with PLT (Personal Learning Time)

Steveston, founded in the 1880s, is a neighbourhood of Richmond in Metro Vancouver. On the southwest tip of Lulu Island, the village is a historic port and salmon canning centre at the mouth of the South Arm of the Fraser River. The early 1900s style architecture attracts both the film and tourism industries.

The Steveston Museum is located at 3811 Moncton Street in the heart of the village of Steveston, British Columbia, Canada. The building is owned by the City of Richmond and is run by the Steveston Historical Society. Erected in 1905 during a cannery boom period, the building housed Steveston's first bank.

The International Buddhist Temple (also 觀音寺 in Chinese; Guān Yīn Sì in pinyin; Guan Yin Temple) is located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. It is a Chinese Buddhist temple run by the International Buddhist Society. While the Society officially practices Mahayana Buddhism, the temple is open to Theravada Buddhist affiliates and visitors, as well as visitors of all religious and unique cultural backgrounds.

Steveston Exchange is a transit exchange serving the Steveston village area of Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. Buses have served the area since the late 1950s but Steveston was not indicated on system maps as an exchange until 2013. It was given an official exchange designation on September 7, 2020. There are 5 routes that connect to various areas of the region, such as Brighouse, Riverport and Vancouver.

Finn Slough is a tiny Fraser River fishing community located at the south end of No. 4 Road in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. The community has approximately 30 residents who live in wooden houses, both floating and built on pilings, along the marshy river bank. Many of the buildings were built between the late 19th century and 1950s and many have decayed severely, while some have been carefully restored. Finn Slough was founded by Finnish settlers who came to Richmond in the 1880s. Most of these residents made a good living from fishing and became local landowners. The sleepy and decaying village of Finn Slough has been repeatedly photographed, and it appears on numerous postcards sold throughout Vancouver tourist shops.

Hugh McRoberts Secondary School, officially "École Secondaire Hugh McRoberts Secondary School", is a Canadian school in Richmond, British Columbia. Named after Hugh McRoberts, an early settler on Sea Island, this secondary school (grades 8-12 in British Columbia) is one of the two schools in Richmond that offer the French Immersion Secondary School program (the other being McMath). McRoberts is situated at Garden City Rd. and Williams Rd. and is a member of School District 38 Richmond. Hugh McRoberts Secondary School opened on November 30, 1962 and was converted into a full-fledged secondary school in the mid-1990s, with the first class of the new grade 8-12 program graduating in 1997. The high school was partially renovated in 1999. The school logo and mascot is a "Striker", which is depicted as a mounted knight carrying a lance or a claymore. The logo had previously been a shamrock. In 2006, the Fraser Institute evaluated Hugh McRoberts Secondary as the highest ranking school compared to other secondary schools in Richmond, with an average ranking of 8.3 out of 10.0 for all schools in the Greater Vancouver Regional District.

The Gulf of Georgia Cannery is a National Historic Site of Canada located in Steveston village in Richmond, British Columbia.Built in 1894, the cannery echoes the days when it was the leading producer of canned salmon in British Columbia. Today it is a museum with interactive exhibits, film, and tours that demonstrate the Cannery's important role in the history of Canada's West Coast fishing industry. The Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society, a non-profit community organization, operates the site on behalf of Parks Canada.

Thrangu Monastery, Canada's first traditional Tibetan Buddhist monastery, was officially opened in Richmond, British Columbia, on July 25, 2010, by the Very Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, the worldwide leader of Thrangu Monasteries.Thrangu Rinpoche is a prominent tulku (reincarnate lama) in the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, the ninth reincarnation in his particular line. His full name and title is the Very Venerable Ninth Khenchen Thrangu Tulku, Karma Lodrö Lungrik Maway Senge. "Khenchen" denotes great scholarly accomplishment, and the term "Rinpoche" is an honorific title commonly afforded to Tibetan lamas. Thrangu Rinpoche was born in Tibet in 1933 and went to India when he was 27. Since then, he has been in residence at the Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim, India. He oversees a number of Thrangu establishments in several parts of the world. The new Canadian monastery will be under the direction of the resident lama, Lama Pema Tsewang, who was born in 1972 in Tsum, Gorkha District, Nepal. In 2002, Thrangu Rinpoche appointed him to the very high position of a "Vajra Master"/The Shrine Hall or (Lhakhang) of the monastery has 30-foot ceilings, contains Tibetan art and a four-metre (16 ft) tall gold-leaf-covered statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, "filled with precious offerings including scriptures, scrolls and sacred stones and pebbles from 108 countries, including China, Hong Kong, India, Tibet, Sri Lanka and Canada. The two side walls have 500 Medicine Buddha statues each and there are 200 Amitabha statues adjacent to the main entrance. Behind the Shakyamuni statue are the six ornaments, and the 12 mandalas are painted on the ceiling. The six pillars are decorated with traditional Tibetan designs with statues of Guru Rinpoche and Four-Arm Chenrezig on top. The shrine hall can comfortably accommodate up to 500 people."A spokesperson said: "The central Buddha is flanked by 35 smaller Buddhas of confession and 1,000 medicine Buddhas that offer protection from illness and danger.There are 8 retreat rooms at the monastery, where practitioners can engage in short and long term retreats, a library with texts in a number of languages, and a room for visiting teachers.The Canadian temple is a daughter establishment of the Tibetan mother temple, Thrangu Monastery near Jyekundo or Gyêgu town in the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai (ancient Kham), China which was severely damaged on April 14, 2010, in the 2010 Yushu earthquake in which many monks and thousands of laypeople died.
