Sagamihara Housing Area (SHA) is an area of land designated as living space for United States Military personnel and Department of the Army Civilians in Sagamihara, Kanagawa prefecture, Japan. Married American soldiers who are stationed at Camp Zama may live on SHA instead of living on the main post (although some Married Soldiers do live on Camp Zama). Camp Zama, SHA and Sagami Depot all fall under the command of United States Army Garrison-Japan (USAG-J), the installation management command for the United States Army, Japan (USARJ).

Kirigaoka (霧が丘, Kiri-ga-oka) is a small suburb of Yokohama city located in the Midori-ku ward (緑区). It translates directly into a "Misty Hill". Kirigaoka is bound from the North-West by Tōmei Expressway, from the North by Tōkaichiba (十日市場) neighbourhood, from the East by a Niharu-shimin-no-mori (新治市民の森, Niiharushiminnomori) forest and in the South by another suburb called Wakabadai (若葉台). Kirigaoka also has 9 parks with the main park being called Kirigaoka-kōen (霧が丘公園). One of the major areas with apartment complexes surrounded by a lot of greenery is called Kirigaoka Green Town (霧が丘グリンタウン). Part of the apartments are private and another part is for rent. A koban, having a police officer on duty is located at the 3-chome 3-banchi 2-ban address. Nearby is a post office and a bus stop called Yūbinkyoku-mae (郵便局前). Kirigaoka is also home to a famous movie director Akira Kurosawa's - Kurosawa Film Studio.

Tokyo Jogakkan College (東京女学館大学, Tōkyō jogaku-kan daigaku, TJKC) was a private women's college in Machida, Tokyo, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1888, and it was chartered as a junior college in 1956. In 1995 TJKC entered into an agreement with The School for International Training to create an English medium degree program. In 2002 it became a four-year liberal arts college with a small student body of no more than 480 pupils. Students graduating from TJKC receive a bachelor's degree in International Liberal Arts. In May 2012 it was announced that the university would stop recruiting new students from spring 2013 and would close down permanently after the last of the current students graduate in March 2016. The declining birth rate in Japan and intense competition from other universities were both cited as reasons for the school's closure.

Tōyō Eiwa Jogakuin (東洋英和女学院, Tōyō Eiwa Jogakuin) is a private girls academy founded on November 6, 1884, in Azabu, Minato, Tokyo by Martha J. Cartmell, a Methodist missionary from Canada. Toyo Eiwa Women's University, established as a four-year college in 1989, is attached to the school.
