Law Hospital

Bogside is a hamlet 2 miles north-east of Wishaw in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, on the border of South Lanarkshire. The hamlet is situated on two main roads, A73 and A721, so many of Central Scotland's communities can be accessed from there. It contains only a few houses, and a motorstore. In 2019 it was recognised as being among the 10 healthiest places to live in the UK, according to research by Liverpool University.

Morningside is a small village in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is located around 3⁄4 mile (1.2 km) south of Newmains, and 2+1⁄4 miles (3.6 km) east of Wishaw. Morningside's population (as of 2016) is 1,090 people. It is a former coal mining village, and formerly had two railway stations. Today, Morningside mainly consists of a modern housing estate with more older houses along the main road.

Law is a village situated between Carluke and Wishaw in South Lanarkshire, Scotland with a population of around 2,800. The village lies on the border of North Lanarkshire. Law is a former mining village, now mainly a low density residential area. For a village so small, Law has a wide range of services, which include Law Community Centre, Scotmid, Post Office, The Auld Store village bar, Boots Pharmacy, Dario's Takeaway, a Barbers, Law Bowling Club, the Room and Kitchen (coffee shop) and various other services, the majority of which can be found on Station Road, the village's main street. Law Parish Church can be found on Station Road. The church is part of the Church of Scotland (Presbyterian) and seeks to provide spiritual and pastoral care to anyone in the parish, church member or not, who requires it. A variety of organisations take place in the church for people of all ages including a very large and well run Boys' Brigade and Girls' Brigade. Law Primary School has about 300 pupils and with older pupils going on to attend Carluke High School 4 miles (6 km) away. Irvine's Coaches was a bus company based in the village that ran services throughout Lanarkshire and surrounding areas, but have now ceased trading. The West Coast Main Line runs through the Village but the station was closed down several years ago. However, there has been much speculation that it may be reopened in future, due to the proposed building of many new homes on the old site of Law Hospital. If re-opened, cities such as Glasgow and Edinburgh could be accessible from Law by train. Law Hospital, on the outskirts of Law Village, closed in 2001, with all patients being sent to Wishaw General Hospital, located in the Craigneuk area of Wishaw. There was an ambulance station on the site of the hospital but since 2001, the Scottish Ambulance Service opened a new one next door to Davie Buildbase on Wildman Road, which is the entrance road to the village from Wishaw.

Carluke railway station is a railway station on the West Coast Main Line (WCML) that serves the town of Carluke, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is predominantly served by Argyle Line commuter trains running between Lanark and Glasgow Central. The station lies at the western edge of the town, and enjoys panoramic views of the Clyde Valley and beyond to the hills of Lanarkshire and Ayrshire.

Newmains United Football Club are a Scottish football club based in the village of Newmains, near the towns of Wishaw and Motherwell. They play their home games at Victoria Park and compete in the West of Scotland League Conference B. Formed in 2006, they are the successors to Coltness United who were formed in 1934. They merged with amateur team Carluke FC in February 2018, keeping the same name

Bonkle is a village 3 miles (4.8 km) north-east of Wishaw in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is sited on the east bank of the South Calder Water. Murdostoun Castle is located nearby.

Newmains is a village and former mining community on the eastern edge of Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, Scotland, 18 miles (29 km) south-east of Glasgow. Although it is considered by the local authority to have a town centre in its own right.
