Erasmus University Rotterdam (abbreviated as EUR, Dutch: Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam [eːˌrɑsmʏs ynivɛrsiˌtɛit rɔtərˈdɑm]) is a public research university located in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The university is named after Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus, a 15th-century humanist and theologian. Erasmus MC is the largest and one of the foremost academic medical centers and trauma centers in the Netherlands, whereas its economics and business school, Erasmus School of Economics and Rotterdam School of Management are well known in Europe and beyond. Currently, Erasmus University Rotterdam has been placed in the top 100 universities in the world by four prominent international ranking tables. In 2017, the university was ranked by Times Higher Education as 69th in the world with its business & economics as 17th, and clinical health as 42nd in the world, and was ranked among top ten business schools in Europe by the Financial Times. Arboretum Trompenburg is a botanical garden in Rotterdam, Netherlands, which hosts a large collection of woody as well as herbaceous plants. It occupies an area of 7 ha and is situated 4 m below sea level, so a system of canals is used to drain the land. The history of the garden dates back to the 19th century. Since 1958 it has been open to the public daily for a small fee. Arboretum Trompenburg holds national plant collections of conifers, Quercus, Fagus, Rhododendron, Ligustrum, Rodgersia and Hosta.

The Stadion Woudestein (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌstaːdijɔɱ ˈʋʌudəstɛin]; known as the Van Donge & De Roo Stadion for sponsorship reasons), is a multi-use stadium in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is currently used mainly for football matches and is the home stadium of Excelsior, as well as for the women's team Excelsior Barendrecht. The stadium is able to hold 4,500 people and was built in 1902. It remains one of the smallest stadiums in the Netherlands, tenanted by a professional club. The stadium has a stand named after Robin van Persie, who played was part of the Excelsior youth academy between 1997 and 1999.

Kralingen-Crooswijk (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈkraː.ˌlɪ.ŋə(n) ˈkroːs.ʋɛi̯k]) is a township of the city of Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is located at the immediate east of the city's centre. As of 2005 it has about 52,379 inhabitants and has a territory of about 1,286 ha. It consists of the two boroughs Kralingen and Crooswijk, the former being a village itself until it was incorporated in the city of Rotterdam in the late 19th century. Kralingen-Crooswijk is home to the football club Excelsior Rotterdam and the economics and social studies faculties of the Erasmus University are located within its borders. It is linked to the city centre by the Caland Metroline, as well as several Rotterdam tram and bus lines. On the northern side of the municipality is located Het Kralingse Bos, a large park surrounding an artificial lake. Many inhabitants of the city use this park for relaxation and sport. On the eastern side the ultra modern company complex Brainpark can be found. Originally Crooswijk and Kralingen were two different districts. Crooswijk being in the north/centre of Rotterdam and Kralingen being more on the east side.

Kralingse Zoom is a subway station on lines A, B, and C of the Rotterdam Metro, in the Kralingen neighbourhood of eastern Rotterdam. The station is located just west of the A16 motorway on the east side of Kralingse Zoom, the road it is named after. At Kralingse Zoom station, transfer is available to several bus lines, as well as to the ParkShuttle, a people mover to a nearby business district. Kralingse Zoom is an above-ground station and is located just to the east of the metro tunnel in which the trains cross the city center. The station has two centre platforms, each with two tracks running alongside them. For most of the day, only the inner two tracks are used. Kralingse Zoom is the metro stop to get to the Erasmus University and to the University of Applied Sciences (Economic Studies).

Voorschoterlaan is an underground subway station in the city of Rotterdam, located on the Rotterdam Metro lines A, B, and C. The station opened on 10 May 1982, the same date that the East-West Line (also formerly called the Caland line), of which it is a part, was opened. The station is located to the east of the city center, in the borough of Kralingen-Crooswijk. Overground people can get on at RET-Rotterdam tram line 7.
