Grand Lake Regional Airport (IATA: NRI, FAA LID: 3O9) is a privately owned, public use airport in Delaware County, Oklahoma, United States. It is located on Monkey Island, a peninsula on the northern shore of Grand Lake o' the Cherokees. The airport is nine nautical miles (10 mi, 17 km) southeast of Afton, a city in Ottawa County, Oklahoma. This airport was included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2007–2011, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.

Teramiranda Airport (FAA LID: 79F) was a privately owned, public use airport in Delaware County, Oklahoma, United States. It is located on Monkey Island, a peninsula on the northern shore of Grand Lake o' the Cherokees. The airport is seven nautical miles (13 km) southeast of the central business district of Afton, a city in Ottawa County, Oklahoma. As of October 19, 2009, the airport was permanently closed.

Grand Lake o' the Cherokees is situated in Northeast Oklahoma in the foothills of the Ozark Mountain Range. It is often simply called Grand Lake. It is administered by the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA).

Cherokee Seaplane Base (FAA LID: 4O6) is a privately owned, public use seaplane base on Grand Lake o' the Cherokees in Delaware County, Oklahoma. It is located seven nautical miles (8 mi, 13 km) southwest of the central business district of Afton, a city in Ottawa County, Oklahoma.

Bernice State Park, also called Bernice Area at Grand Lake State Park, is an 88-acre (360,000 m2) Oklahoma state park located in Delaware County, Oklahoma. It is located near the city of Bernice, Oklahoma at the northwestern corner of Grand Lake o' the Cherokees. The park is actually across the mouth of the Neosho River from the town of Bernice. Known as the "Crappie Capital of the World," the park also offers fishing for largemouth bass, white bass, channel catfish and bluegill. Visitors will find semi-modern RV sites and tent campsites, comfort stations with showers, boat ramp, courtesy boat dock for loading and unloading, picnic areas, playground, one mile (1.6 km) paved walking and jogging path that is handicap accessible, two wildlife watch towers, swimming and a nature center.

Bernice is a town in Delaware County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 562 at the 2010 census, an increase of 11.5 percent over the figure of 504 recorded in 2000. The town is now primarily a vacation and retirement area. It claims to be the "Crappie Fishing Capital of the World."

The Quapaw Indian Agency was a territory that included parts of the present-day Oklahoma counties of Ottawa and Delaware. Established in the late 1830s as part of lands allocated to the Cherokee Nation, this area was later leased by the federal government and known as the Leased District. The area that became known as the Quapaw Agency Lands contained 220,000 acres and was located in the northeastern corner of Oklahoma where that state adjoins Missouri and Kansas. After the Civil War, the Cherokee were forced to cede the land and the US assigned it to several other tribes. This area was settled prior to 1874 by 24 Indian groups. These range from full Indian tribes down to the remnants of several larger Indian groups whose main body settled elsewhere. The agency was disbanded in 1890 by the Oklahoma Organic Act, which was designed to extinguish tribal communal land claims. The land was attached to an Indian Territory prior to passage of the Dawes Act and distribution of plots to individual households. Another Indian reserve, the Miami Indian Agency based in Miami, Oklahoma was disbanded at the same time. All Native American claims were extinguished prior to Oklahoma's admission to statehood in the 20th century.

Cleora is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Delaware County, Oklahoma, United States, along State Highway 85. The population was 1,463 at the 2010 census, up from the figure of 1,113 recorded in 2000. The Cleora Post Office existed from November 28, 1900, until October 15, 1954. Cleora was established in District 2 of the old Indian Territory. It was named for Cleora Ann Lunday, sister of the postmaster, Ed Lunday.

Copeland (also Copeland Switch) is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Delaware County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,629 at the 2010 census, a 12.5 percent increase from the figure of 1,448 recorded in 2000. Founded as a railroad community, it was named for local resident D.R. Copeland.

Lendonwood Gardens are non-profit botanical gardens in Grove, Oklahoma. The 3-acre (1.2 ha) gardens were founded in 1995 by Dr. Leonard Miller, a retired dentist, and consist of a blend of American and Japanese gardening techniques. Major plantings took about 18 months to complete. In 1997 the Gardens became a non-profit organization and are now part of the Oklahoma Botanical Garden system. To be designated a botanical garden, a site must contain labeled plants, be open to the public, and contain at least 225 species. Grassy pathways meander through more than 1,400 different types of plants, including one of the largest collections of Chamaecyparis (false cypress) in the United States, the largest collection of rhododendrons in the Southwest, 500 varieties of daylilies, 25 varieties of dogwoods, more than 50 bonsai, 75 varieties of Japanese maples, and 70 varieties of hostas, as well as a 150-foot (46 m) stream consisting of nine pools of water, and a koi pond. Plants in the American Backyard Xeriscape Garden thrive without additional watering and include annuals such as zinnias and marigolds.
