Prosser Creek Dam

Prosser Creek is a perennial stream in Nevada County, California, formed from the North Fork Prosser Creek and South Fork Prosser Creek, then flowing into Prosser Creek Reservoir, and then to the Truckee River.

The Barracuda Championship is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour in California. Founded in 1999, it is an alternate event played annually in August. Previously held at Montrêux Golf and Country Club outside Reno, Nevada, the tournament moved west in 2020 to Tahoe Mountain Club's Old Greenwood course in nearby Truckee, California. Until 2010, it was held in August, the same week as the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. For its first three years, it had a full field of 156 players, while the World Golf Championship event had a field of about 40. When the WGC event expanded to about 80 players in 2002, the field for the Reno–Tahoe Open was reduced to 132 players. With the launch of the FedEx Cup in 2007, the tournament and the WGC event were moved from late to early August. In 2010 the Reno–Tahoe Open was played several weeks earlier, opposite the Open Championship in mid-July. This lasted only one year, as it returned to early August in 2011, opposite the WGC-Bridgestone. The purse in 2022 was $3.7 million, with a winner's share of $666,000. The Reno–Tahoe Open gained its first title sponsor for the 2008 event, the Legends at Sparks Marina. After two years the name was returned to "Reno–Tahoe Open" in 2010. Barracuda Networks became the title sponsor in 2014.The Reno–Tahoe Open is an alternate event, which means the winner does not earn a Masters Tournament invitation. The winner still earns 24 OWGR points, 300 FedEx Cup points, a two-year tour exemption, and entry to the PGA Championship. After flooding in West Virginia cancelled the Greenbrier Classic in 2016, the Reno–Tahoe Open was given the honor of awarding entry to the Open Championship to the leading non-exempt player. In August 2021, it was announced that from 2022 onward, the event would become a co-sanctioned event with the European Tour.

Martis Creek is a northward-flowing stream originating on Sawtooth Ridge, west of the peak of Mount Pluto in Placer County, California, United States. After crossing into Nevada County, California, it is a tributary to the Truckee River on the eastern side of Truckee.

Martis Valley is a geographic area of 70 square miles (180 km2) in the United States, extending northward from the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, California, to the west of the California-Nevada border. It is located in Placer and Nevada Counties and is bisected by Martis Creek which flows north to the Truckee River.

Polaris was a historic ice farming community located nearly 3 miles east of Truckee, approximately at the intersection of modern day Glenshire Drive and Quail Lane.

The Little Truckee River is a 34.3-mile-long (55.2 km) river that is a tributary to its larger counterpart, the Truckee River, north of Lake Tahoe. It drains the eastern flank of the Sierra Nevada, flowing through Sierra County and Nevada County in eastern California.

Boca Reservoir is an artificial lake in Nevada County, California, United States, located in the perimeter covered by Tahoe National Forest. It was created by the construction of Boca Dam across Little Truckee River, approximately 10 km northeast of Truckee. It is located downstream (south) of Stampede Dam and to the east of Prosser Creek Dam and Prosser Creek Reservoir.

Boca (Spanish for "Mouth") is a former settlement in Nevada County, California. Situated at an elevation of 5,528 ft (1,685 m) above sea level, Boca is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad, 6.5 miles (10.5 km) northeast of Truckee. 

Boca Dam (National ID No. CA10135) is an earthfill dam and a part of the Truckee Storage Project that encompasses Nevada County, California and Washoe County, Nevada in the United States. Open year-round, it is located at the southern end of Boca Reservoir, 1 mi (2 km) north of Interstate 80, 0.3 mi (480 m) above the confluence of the Little Truckee River and the Truckee River, and 6 mi (9.7 km) northeast of Truckee, California. Reno, Nevada lies 27 mi (43 km) to the east.Boca Dam's area of significance includes agriculture, conservation, and engineering. It is administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, and operated by the Washoe County Water Conservation District. The technical point of contact is the United States District Court Water Master's Office in Reno. The dam's major period of significance was 1925 through 1949.

Trout Creek is a small tributary of the Truckee River draining about 5.1 square miles (13 km2) along the eastern crest of the Sierra Nevada. It originates east of Donner Ridge and north of Donner Lake in the Tahoe–Donner Golf Course and flows through the town of Truckee, California, to its confluence with the Truckee River in Nevada County, California, just west of Highway 267.
