Hochfinsler

Flumserberg is a resort area in the Swiss Alps, located in the canton of St. Gallen. It is composed of several villages at elevations between 1,160 and 1,344 metres (3,806 and 4,409 ft) above sea level. The resort sits on a terrace overlooking the Walensee, above Flums in the Sarganserland region. Flumserberg mainly belongs to the municipality of Flums, with a small part belonging to the municipality of Quarten. The three main villages composing the resort of Flumserberg are: Tannenbodenalp (1,344 m (4,409 ft)), Flumserberg (1,275 m (4,183 ft)) and Tannenheim (1,160 m (3,806 ft)).

Flums is a municipality in the Wahlkreis (constituency) of Sarganserland in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. It is close to a large shopping complex and also is the gateway to a large skiing resort called Flumserberg.

The Wissgandstöckli is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen. It lies approximately halfway between Matt and Weisstannen.The Riseten Pass lies to the south of the Wissgandstöckli, and carries a hiking trail between Weisstannen, in the canton of St. Gallen, and Matt, in the canton of Glarus.

The Spitzmeilen is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, lying on the border between the Swiss cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen. It lies between the valleys of Schilstal and Sernftal.

Flums railway station (German: Bahnhof Flums) is a railway station in Flums, in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. It is an intermediate stop on the Ziegelbrücke–Sargans line.

Gräpplang Castle is a castle in the municipality of Flums of the Canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance. Gräpplang is mentioned around the middle of the 13th century as the administrative seat of the Hochstift Chur, pledged to Ulrich von Flums in 1292 and sold to the Tschudi family in 1528, whose descendants remained owners until 1767.

The Riseten Pass (German: Risetenpass) is a mountain pass of the Glarus Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of St. Gallen and Glarus, at an elevation of 2,189 m (7,182 ft). It crosses the col between the peaks of the Wissgandstöckli and Foostock.The pass is traversed by a trail, which connects the village of Weisstannen, in the canton of St. Gallen at an elevation of 1,004 m (3,294 ft), with the valley of the Krauch stream and thence with the village of Matt, in the canton of Glarus at an elevation of 831 m (2,726 ft).

Mols railway station (German: Bahnhof Mols) is a now disfunct railway station in Quarten, in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. The station was closed on 12 December 2021, because of ongoing construction work on the Bommerstein tunnel and low ridership. Buses continue to stop at the station.The station used to be an intermediate stop of the former S4 circle line (rerouted in December 2023) on the Ziegelbrücke–Sargans line.

The Magerrain is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen in Eastern Switzerland. Reaching an elevation of 2,524 metres above sea level, the Magerrain is the highest summit of the range north of the Walabützer Furggle (2,167 m) and the Risitenpass (2,189 m). The closest locality is Engi on the south side.

Walenstadt railway station (German: Bahnhof Walenstadt) is a railway station in Walenstadt, in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. It is an intermediate stop on the Ziegelbrücke–Sargans line.

Chapfensee is a reservoir at Mels, Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. The area around the reservoir is a nature preserve. The reservoir was built in 1946/1947 and used to generate power at the plant Plons.

The Seeztal (or Seez Valley) is a valley of the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland, extending to the east of Lake Walen for some 10 km, formed by the river Seez. The valley appears to be a left branch off the Rhine valley at Sargans, but there is a divide at Mels. Situated in the Seeztal are the municipalities of Walenstadt (425 m), Flums (453 m) and Mels (500 m). Running along the valley are the A3 motorway and the Chur-Zürich railway line. As a consequence, the Seeztal is well connected to Greater Zurich, the journey by train from Zurich Airport to Mels taking some 90 minutes.
