Museo d'Arte Antica

The Museo Egizio is a museum sited in the Sforza Castle of Milan, Italy. The Castle is one of the most famous monuments in Milan and is home to several museums including the Egyptian Section of the Milan Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Ancient Art, the Pinacoteca and the Museum of Musical Instruments. The Egyptian Museum, situated in the underground level of the ducal courtyard, is divided into seven different sections: ABOUT ANCIENT EGYPTIAN WRITING ABOUT PHARAOHS ABOUT DEITIES AND CULTS ABOUT EVERYDAY LIFE FOR THE EGYPTIANS ABOUT FUNERARY CULT EXCAVATIONS CONDUCTED BY ACHILLE VOGLIANO MUMMIES, SARCOPHAGI AND FUNERARY MASKSA mummy dating from the Greco-Roman period, from Thebes, and ancient Egyptian sarcophagi are exposed in the "mummies, sarcophagi and funerary mask" section, while some papyri of the Book of the Dead are exposed in the Funerary Cult section.

The Museum of Musical Instruments of Milan exhibits over 700 musical instruments from the fifteenth to twentieth centuries with particular attention to Lombard instruments. The collection contains plucked instruments, Lombard and Cremonese violins, hunting horns, numerous wood instruments (e.g. flutes, oboes, clarinets, English horns), bassoons, pianos and some ancient organs. In particular the Cremonese lutherie (from Cremona in low Lombardy) is appreciated all over the world for the high quality of its musical instruments. The museum also displays the equipment of the former Studio di fonologia musicale di Radio Milano. In 2000 a donation by the Fondazione Antonio Monzino added 79 musical instruments, made between the 18th and 20th century, to the civic collection; they had been collected by the Monzino family. These musical instruments represent the strong tradition of Lombard lutherie. The museum is situated in the Sforza Castle complex that also includes The Museum of Ancient Art, the Pinacotheca, the Applied Arts Collection and the Egyptian Museum (that includes the prehistoric sections of the Archaeological Museum of Milan).

The Castello Sforzesco (Italian for "Sforza's Castle") is a medieval fortification located in Milan, northern Italy. It was built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan, on the remnants of a 14th-century fortification. Later renovated and enlarged, in the 16th and 17th centuries it was one of the largest citadels in Europe. Extensively rebuilt by Luca Beltrami in 1891–1905, it now houses several of the city's museums and art collections.

The Antique Furnishings & Wooden Sculpture Museum of Milan is located on the first floor of the Sforza Castle ducal courtyard and it is part of the Sforza Castle's Civic Museum complex. The itinerary is chronologically arranged from the 14th century to the modern times with a particular attention for the Italian and lombardic furniture history. One of the most important artifacts exposed in the museum is the Chamber of Griselda: a wooden room reconstructed with fifteenth century detached frescoes to create a scale replica of how it looked in its original location in the Roccabianca Castle near Parma. The Italian 20th century furniture and the italian design are well represented by furniture signed Alberto Issel, Carlo Bugatti and Ettore Sottsass, while the 18th-century Italian school of cabinetmakers are well represented by several cabinets signed Giuseppe Maggiolini. Are also exposed religious furnishing from 16th–18th century and furniture of the noble families of Milan. Several wooden sculptures and various decorative items, such pottery or tableware including a tea set designed by Gio Ponti, are also displayed in the museum.

Soncino Castle (Italian: Rocca di Soncino) is a military fortress in Soncino, northern Italy. It was built in the 10th century, and it was active since the years around 1500.

The Pinacoteca del Castello Sforzesco is an art gallery in the museum complex of the Castello Sforzesco in Milan, northern Italy.

The Applied Arts Collection of Milan (Raccolte d’Arte Applicata di Milano in Italian) is located in the Sforza Castle museum complex under the management of the municipality of Milan, Italy. The museum is divided into several sections with particular emphasis on jewelry, ivories, pottery and art glass. The ceramic collection includes medieval, Renaissance and Baroque pottery, a maiolica group with pieces from 17th-century Lodi and Milan, and a collection of European chinaware and earthenware. The collection of artistic glass includes the Gonzaga Cup, made of crystal clear glass and decorated with a pattern of small golden flowers and the Gonzaga coat of arm with a quadripartite black eagle on a white background. In the Sala Della Balla is the Arazzi Trivulzio, a series of twelve tapestries representing the different months of the years. Their design is based on drawings by the Italian painter Bramantino.

Piazzale Cadorna (Cadorna Square) is sited in the centre of Milan, near Cadorna Railway Station. The square are dedicated to Italian Field Marshal Luigi Cadorna, famous for being chief of staff of the Italian army during the First World War. In the square is also sited the Cadorna metro station with 2 lines, green and red, of the Milan metro network. Piazzale cadorna is famous for the giant sculpture Needle, Thread and Knot (Ago, filo e nodo) by Claes Oldenburg and his wife Coosje van Bruggen. This sculpture was posed in the square during a massive restyling of the square on Gae Aulenti project in 1999, and represents the hard work and talent for fashion of the city.

Cadorna FN is an underground interchange station in Milan, Italy, serving Lines 1 and 2 of the Milan Metro. The Line 1 station was opened on 1 November 1964 as part of the inaugural section of the Metro, between Sesto Marelli and Lotto. The Line 2 station was opened on 3 March 1978 as the southern terminus of the extension from Garibaldi FS. It served as the southern terminus of Line 2 until the extension of the line to Porta Genova on 30 October 1983.The station is located at Piazzale Luigi Cadorna, opposite to Milano Cadorna railway station, within the municipal area of Milan. It is close to Sforzesco Castle, the Triennale and Parco Sempione.

Lanza is an underground station on Line 2 of the Milan Metro. The station was opened on 3 March 1978 as part of the extension from Garibaldi FS to Cadorna.The station is located on Via Giovanni Lanza, within the core area of the city centre of Milan, in the vicinity of the Sforzesco Castle. The station allows riders to reach the Brera district, the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, the Parco Sempione and the city aquarium. Lanza is the only station in the center to have an input on the front surface of a building. It is also the only stop on Line 2 to have the platforms parallel to each other on the same level, but in two different tunnels without the use of a central platform. According to a sign indicating the distance between stations, Moscova station is 550 meters away.

The Civic Aquarium of Milan (Acquario Civico di Milano in Italian) is an aquarium in Milan, Italy, and the third oldest aquarium in Europe. Built in 1906 on the occasion of the Milan International, It is the only surviving building from the event. Sited on the edge of Sempione Park, the aquarium has over 100 different types of underwater life located in several tanks with a particular attention for the fishes and aquatic vegetation of the Italian seacoasts, lakes, and rivers.The facade of the aquarium includes a Neptune statue, the Roman god of water and the sea, created by sculptor Oreste Labò. The aquarium library, which is open to the public, has one of Italy’s most prestigious collection of marine biology publications.

Parco Sempione ("Simplon Park") is a large city park in Milan, Italy. Established in 1888, it has an overall area of 38.6 hectares (95 acres), and it is located in the historic centre of the city, inside the Zone 1 administrative division. The park is adjacent to the gardens of the Sforza Castle and to the Arch of Peace, two of the main landmarks of Milan. The very design of the park, due to architect Emilio Alemagna, was conceived with the intent of creating panoramic views encompassing both monuments. A third prominent monument of Parco Sempione is the Palazzo dell'Arte ("Palace of Art"), built in 1933 and designed by Giovanni Muzio, which currently houses the Triennale di Milano art expo. In the park are Arena Civica, the public aquarium, and the Torre Branca tower. The X Triennial Pavilion (1954) has been converted into a public library.
