Mahonia Hall is the official residence of the governor of Oregon, located in Oregon's capital city, Salem. The building was acquired by the state in 1988 with private donations. It is also known as the T. A. Livesley House or Thomas and Edna Livesley Mansion, after its original owners. The house was renamed Mahonia Hall after the scientific name of the Oregon-grape, Mahonia aquifolium, Oregon's state flower. A naming contest was held by The Oregonian in 1988, and Eric Johnson, a 13-year-old from Salem, came up with the winning entry. Other finalists were The Eyrie, Trail's End, The Oregon House, and The Cascade House. Governor Neil Goldschmidt and his family were the first official residents.The half-timber Tudor-style mansion was designed and built in 1924 by Ellis F. Lawrence, the founder of the University of Oregon School of Architecture, for hop farmer Thomas A. Livesley. The structure includes a ballroom on the third floor, a pipe organ, a wine cellar and formal gardens; all were part of the original design. The home has 10,000 square feet (930 m2) of space. Mahonia Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Alonzo Gesner (March 2, 1842 – March 6, 1912) was an American land surveyor, Indian agent, and politician in the state of Oregon. A native of Illinois, he immigrated as a boy to the Oregon Country with his family where he became a deputy surveyor for the United States government. A Republican, he also was appointed as an Indian agent to the Warm Springs Reservation and later was a member of the Oregon State Senate.

Salem Pioneer Cemetery (also known as the I.O.O.F. Cemetery or Oddfellows Cemetery) is a cemetery in Salem, Oregon, United States. It has been listed as a National Register of Historic Places since 2013, under the name Odd Fellows Rural Cemetery.

The Marion County Housing Committee Demonstration House in Salem, Oregon is a small house from c. 1860 that was renovated extensively in 1934–35. It has also been known as the William Beckett House, named for the person believed to be the original owner in the 1860s. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is a work of architects Clarence L. Smith and Frank S. Strubble.

Augustus Crouch Kinney (July 26, 1845 - March 24, 1908) was an American physician and scientist in the state of Oregon. A native of Iowa, his family moved to Oregon Country when he was an infant where he was raised and started his medical career. He practiced the majority of his career in Astoria, Oregon, and was a leading expert on tuberculosis.

The Daughters of Union Veterans Civil War Memorial is an outdoor war memorial commemorating Union Civil War veterans, installed at City View Cemetery in Salem, Oregon, United States. The monument, erected by the Oregon Daughters of Union Veterans in 1933, features a statue of a soldier atop pedestal surrounded by two circles with markers honoring veterans. One plaque reads: ERECTED / IN MEMORY OF / DECEASED BRAVE / DEFENDERS / OF OUR COUNTRY / IN THE CIVIL WAR OF / 1861–1865.

City View Cemetery is a privately owned cemetery in Salem, Oregon, United States, that was established in 1893. Its Mount Crest Abbey Mausoleum, opened in 1914, contains the remains of eight governors of Oregon.
