The Vara is a river of the Province of La Spezia in Liguria, north-west Italy.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 10,145 and an area of 16.4 square kilometres (6.3 sq mi).The municipality of Arcola contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Baccano, Termo, Fresonara, Monti, Romito Magra, Cerri, and Trebiano. Arcola borders the following municipalities: La Spezia, Lerici, Sarzana, Vezzano Ligure.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,490 and an area of 14.7 square kilometres (5.7 sq mi).Bolano borders the following municipalities: Aulla, Follo, Podenzana, Santo Stefano di Magra, Tresana, Vezzano Ligure.
