Aiseau (Walloon: Åjhô) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Aiseau-Presles, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. It was a separate municipality before the Merger of Commons in 1977. It borders the Biesme, near its mouth on the Sambre. Falisolle (French pronunciation: [falizɔl]; Walloon: Farjole) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Sambreville, located in the province of Namur, Belgium and located a few kilometers south of Sambre. It was a community in its own right before the municipal mergers in 1977. The village covers an area of 4.83 square kilometers and is officially 115.45 m above sea level. As of 1999 it had a population of 3,448.

On January 1, 2006, Sambreville had a total population of 26,949. The total area is 34.20 km2 (13.20 sq mi) which gives a population density of 788 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,040/sq mi).

Auvelais (Walloon: Åvlè) is a town of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Sambreville, located in the province of Namur, Belgium. The town lies in a meander of the River Sambre. The town of Auvelais was formed in 1809 from the merger of the villages of Auvelais-la-Comté and Auvelais-le-Voisin. In 1977, as part of the post-1974 fusion of the Belgian municipalities, Auvelais became part of the newly created municipality of Sambreville, serving as the administrative centre.

The total area is 22.19 km2 which gives a population density of 486 inhabitants per km2. It is located in the arrondissement of Charleroi. Its postal area is: 6250. Farciennes (French pronunciation: [faʁsjɛn]; Walloon: Fårcene) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. On January 1, 2018, Farciennes had a total population of 11,247. The total area is 10.39 km2 which gives a population density of 1,083 inhabitants per km2. It is located on the entre-Sambre-et-Meuse in the periphery of Charleroi. The municipality consists of the following districts: Farciennes and Pironchamps. The boroughs of Wainage, Wairchat and Tergnée are part of the district of Farciennes. In the past, Farciennes was an industrial city. It declined with the closure of the last Walloon coal mine, namely the Sainte-Catherine shaft of the Roton company, and the fall of the iron and steel industries, formerly large employers in the area between Liège and Charleroi. Today, the site of Roton, of which only the tower and the cloakroom remain, has been developed to accommodate small and medium-sized businesses.

The Battle of Lambusart (16 June 1794) saw a Republican French army led by Jean Baptiste Jourdan try to cross the Sambre River against a combined Dutch and Habsburg Austrian army under William V, Hereditary Prince of Orange. This battle was the culmination of the fourth of five attempts to consolidate a foothold on the north side of the Sambre. The clash occurred during the War of the First Coalition, part of a wider struggle known as the Wars of the French Revolution. In 1794, Lambusart was an independent village, but it is now part of the Fleurus municipality. Lambusart is located about 10 kilometres (6 mi) northeast of Charleroi. Three times during the spring of 1794, the French armies attempted to cross the Sambre in the face of resistance by First Coalition forces. After three defeats, they were reinforced by four divisions from the Army of the Moselle under General Jourdan on 4 June, who then took command and led the combined forces to cross the Sambre for the fourth time, and lay siege to Charleroi for the second time, on 12 June. On the 16th, the Prince of Orange counter-attacked and broke the French right flank, forcing Jourdan to lift the siege and withdraw south of the Sambre.

Pont-de-Loup (Walloon: Pondlô) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Aiseau-Presles, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. The residents of Pont-de-Loup are referred to as "Lupipontain(e)." The village is officially a "lieu dit" ("named place") in the commune of Tourrettes-sur-Loup.[1]. The village is best known for an annual religious festival in honor of Our Lady Del Manock. Our Lady of Manock is the subject of veneration for pilgrims hoping to invoke the saint's miraculous healing of deafness. Every year in August, a procession is held along with the feast day for the patron church of Saint-Clèt. The village is nestled in a bend of the River Sambre.
