Lambusart (Walloon: Lambussåt) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Fleurus located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium.

Farciennes (French pronunciation: [faʁsjɛn]; Walloon: Fårcene) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. On January 1, 2018, Farciennes had a total population of 11,247. The total area is 10.39 km2 which gives a population density of 1,083 inhabitants per km2. It is located on the entre-Sambre-et-Meuse in the periphery of Charleroi. The municipality consists of the following districts: Farciennes and Pironchamps. The boroughs of Wainage, Wairchat and Tergnée are part of the district of Farciennes. In the past, Farciennes was an industrial city. It declined with the closure of the last Walloon coal mine, namely the Sainte-Catherine shaft of the Roton company, and the fall of the iron and steel industries, formerly large employers in the area between Liège and Charleroi. Today, the site of Roton, of which only the tower and the cloakroom remain, has been developed to accommodate small and medium-sized businesses.

Roselies (Walloon: Rojni) is a village of Wallonia and district of the municipality of Aiseau-Presles in the province of Hainaut, Belgium.

Farciennes Castle (French: Château de Farciennes) is a derelict 17th-century castle in Farciennes in the province of Hainaut, Wallonia, Belgium. The present building stands on the site of an earlier castle of the 14th century.

The Battle of Fleurus of August 29, 1622 was fought in the Spanish Netherlands between a Spanish army and the Protestant forces of Ernst von Mansfeld and Christian of Brunswick during the Eighty Years' War and Thirty Years' War. The bloody struggle left the Protestants mangled and the Spanish masters of the field and would ensure Catholic dominance in Germany till the intervention of Denmark–Norway.

The Battle of Fleurus, fought on 1 July 1690 near Fleurus, then part of the Spanish Netherlands, now in modern Belgium, was a major engagement of the Nine Years' War. A French army led by Luxembourg defeated an Allied force under Waldeck. Luxembourg's victory had limited strategic impact, since Louis XIV of France ordered him to end his campaign in the Netherlands, and instead reinforce the Dauphin on the Rhine. This gave the Allies time to withdraw to Brussels, and rebuild their army.

The Battle of Fleurus, on 26 June 1794, was an engagement during the War of the First Coalition, between the army of the First French Republic, under General Jean-Baptiste Jourdan, and the Coalition army (Britain, Hanover, Dutch Republic, and Habsburg monarchy), commanded by Prince Josias of Coburg, in the most significant battle of the Flanders Campaign in the Low Countries during the French Revolutionary Wars. Both sides had forces in the area of around 80,000 men but the French were able to concentrate their troops and defeat the First Coalition. The Allied defeat led to the permanent loss of the Austrian Netherlands and to the destruction of the Dutch Republic. The battle marked a turning point for the French army, which remained ascendant for the rest of the War of the First Coalition.

Wangenies (Walloon: Wandjniye) is a village of Wallonia, and a district of the municipality of Fleurus, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. It was its own municipality prior to the fusion of municipalities of 1977.

Aiseau-Presles (French pronunciation: [ezo pʁɛl]; Walloon: Åjhô-Préle) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium.[1] On 1 January 2018 Aiseau-Presles had a total population of 10,788. The total area is 22.19 km2 which gives a population density of 486 inhabitants per km2. It is located in the arrondissement of Charleroi. Its postal area is: 6250. Cities and municipalities bordering: Châtelet - Farciennes - Fosses-la-Ville - Gerpinnes - Sambreville.

Sambreville (French pronunciation: [sɑ̃bʁəvil]; Walloon: Sambveye) is a municipality and since March 12, 2024 a Belgian city of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. On January 1, 2006, Sambreville had a total population of 26,949. The total area is 34.20 km2 (13.20 sq mi) which gives a population density of 788 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,040/sq mi).

Aiseau (Walloon: Åjhô) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Aiseau-Presles, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. It was a separate municipality before the Merger of Commons in 1977. It borders the Biesme, near its mouth on the Sambre. Postal area: 6250 (old zone: 6268) Province: Hainaut District: Charleroi Hamlets of Aiseau: Menonri (wa: In Mnonri); Oignies (wa: Ougniye), with its béguinage.
