La Barque Creek is a stream in Jefferson County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Meramec River. La Barque is a name derived from the French denoting "the boat".

Fox Creek is a stream in Franklin and St. Louis counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Meramec River. Fox Creek was named for the abundance of foxes near its course.

Eureka is a city in St. Louis County and Jefferson County, Missouri, adjacent to Wildwood and Pacific. It is in the extreme southwest of the Greater St. Louis metro area. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 11,646. Since 1971, Eureka has been known as the home of the amusement park Six Flags St. Louis.

Young Conservation Area, formerly named Hilda Young Conservation Area, consisting of 970 acres (3.9 km2), is located in the north central portion of Jefferson County, Missouri.

Myron and Sonya Glassberg Family Conservation Area is a 429-acre (1.74 km2) protected area in northwestern Jefferson County, Missouri. It is south of Eureka and southeast of Pacific. The Glassberg Family Conservation Area is located within the watershed of the Meramec River, primarily in the watershed of LaBarque Creek. The Young Conservation Area is about 0.2 miles (0.32 km) to the east and LaBarque Creek Conservation Area is about 1.2 miles (1.9 km) to the southwest.The acquisition of the conservation area's land was made possible by a donation from the Myron and Sonya Glassberg Family and the Forest Legacy Program run by the U.S. Forest Service. The land was acquired to protect the water quality of LaBarque Creek, which is one of the highest quality streams in the St. Louis area, with at least 42 species of fish. The area was opened to the public in December 2012.There is a 3 miles (4.8 km) loop hiking trail, a 0.5 miles (0.80 km) trail around 3-acre (1.2 ha) Buder Lake, which is open to fishing, and a scenic overlook above the Meramec River. There are five additional fishless ponds. A limestone monument designed by Gail Cassilly and dedicated to the Glassberg family is located near the parking area. No horses, camping, motorized vehicles, or bicycles are permitted in the area.

American Thunder is a wooden roller coaster located in the 1904 World's Fair section of Six Flags St. Louis in Eureka, Missouri. Opened on June 20, 2008, the coaster was originally named after and themed to the famous motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel. It was renamed American Thunder for the 2011 season. To help promote the opening of the then-Evel Knievel Roller Coaster, Knievel's son, Robbie Knievel, jumped a Honda CR-500 motorcycle over 25 Dodge Chargers on July 3, 2008.As a result of the St. Louis Cardinals losing to the Chicago Cubs in the 2015 National League Division Series, Six Flags St. Louis lost a friendly wager with Six Flags Great America, resulting in the temporary name change of the roller coaster to Cubs Thunder.

The Big River is a tributary of the Meramec River in east-central Missouri. The river rises in western Iron County near the summit of Johnson Mountain just north of Missouri Route 32 and approximately 3.5 miles southeast of the community of Enough. It flows through Washington, Saint Francois, and Jefferson counties. It forms part of the boundary between Jefferson and Saint Francois counties and also part of the boundary between Jefferson and Washington counties. It empties into the Meramec River opposite Eureka where the Meramec forms the border between Jefferson and Saint Louis counties. The river flows through Washington State Park, St. Francois State Park, and the Lead Belt mining district. The elevation of the river at its source is approximately 1,300 feet (400 m) above sea level and at its mouth about 400 feet (120 m). The length of the river is approximately 145 miles (233 km), while the airline distance between source and mouth is about 56 miles (90 km). Its watershed area is 955 square miles (2,470 km2). The river flows through or near the communities of Belgrade, Irondale, Park Hills, Bonne Terre, Morse Mill, Cedar Hill, and Byrnes Mill. Tributaries of the Big River include Flat River, Belews Creek, Turkey Creek, Mill Creek, Mineral Fork, Calico Creek, Heads Creek, Terre Bleue Creek, Ditch Creek, and Jones Creek.

Six Flags St. Louis, originally known as Six Flags Over Mid-America, is an amusement park featuring characters and rides from many Warner Bros. films and TV shows such as Looney Tunes, DC Comics, and formerly Scooby-Doo. It is located in Eureka, Missouri, which is a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. Owned and operated by Six Flags, the park opened on June 5, 1971, as the third of the company's three original theme parks. It is the only one of the original three Six Flags parks to be both owned and operated by Six Flags. (The other two, Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Over Georgia, are owned by limited partnerships and operated by Six Flags.) The park was conceived by Six Flags founder Angus G. Wynne in the 1960s, although unlike the previous two Six Flags parks, it was designed by the Six Flags company itself rather than architect Randall Duell, who was preoccupied with designing AstroWorld at the time. Its layout consists of six themed areas, each of which contain numerous attractions, dining locations and live entertainment. Since its original opening in 1971, the park has undergone many changes, most notably of which are the replacement or renaming of all six of the park's original areas in the 1990s, as well as the addition of two new ones. There are many celebrations and events held year round at the park. Some of the most popular are Fright Fest runs during the Halloween season (usually late September to late October/early November) and features many Halloween decorations and haunted houses. Coca-Cola's July 4th Fest takes place July 3–5 and features firework displays. Formerly Holiday in the Park during the Christmas season that ran from November to early January and featured Christmas decorations, music, New Years fireworks, and more.

Ninja is an Arrow Dynamics/Vekoma steel roller coaster located in the Studio Backlot section of Six Flags St. Louis in Eureka, Missouri. It was originally built for and located at Expo 86 in Vancouver, British Columbia, operating as Scream Machine from May to October 1986. It began operating as Ninja at Six Flags St. Louis in 1989. The coaster was started by American manufacturer Arrow Dynamics, but when Arrow fell into bankruptcy during construction, it was sold to Dutch manufacturer Vekoma, who finished it. The ride features a loop, a sidewinder and a double corkscrew. The Ninja, like most modern roller coasters, requires a minimum of two employees to dispatch the train. One operates the main panel, which controls the restraints, gates and has a section for the mechanics. The other operator stands at the remote enable. Both operators have to do an all clear sweep and thumbs up, then press their buttons at the same time.

River King Mine Train is a steel mine train roller coaster at Six Flags St. Louis in Eureka, Missouri. Built in 1971, it was the park's first coaster and opened with the park on June 5, 1971. The actual ride itself is one of two tracks, one which was later sold. Today, the ride operates with its original name. The ride has also received modern upgrades, including a new control panel. It is a popular family and beginner coaster, since it is the smallest in the park. Often called simply the Mine Train, it is unique in the fact that it has no automatic system for the lap bars; instead, employees have to manually lock and unlock the bars. Trains are five cars with riders arranged two across in three rows. In total, the coaster has three trains that have a total capacity of 90 riders (30 each).

Colossus is a 180-foot tall (54.9 m) Ferris wheel located at the 1904 World's Fair section of Six Flags St. Louis in Eureka, Missouri. It opened on April 18, 1986, and is 165 feet (50.3 m) in diameter, weighs 180 short tons (160 metric tons), and has a maximum capacity of 320 people.The ride debuted at the 1984 New Orleans World's Fair, one of multiple rides at the fair that were operated by Six Flags. About three years after being at the fair, it was relocated to Six Flags St. Louis.

The Grand Ole Carousel is a carousel at Six Flags St. Louis. It opened in 1972, and was originally manufactured by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters in 1915. The Carousel was originally installed at Luna Park in Cleveland, Ohio.
