The Bahram Jung Mosque (Tamil: பஹ்ராம் ஜங் மஸ்ஜித்) is a mosque situated in the neighbourhood of Nandanam in Chennai, India. The mosque was constructed between 1789 and 1795 by Muhammad Abdullah Qadir Nawaz Khan Bahadur Bahram Jung, a poet in the court of Muhammad Ali Khan Wallajah, the Nawab of the Carnatic. Bahram Jung and his brother, Hafiz Ahmad Khan incurred huge expenses on part of the Carnatic state that on the death of Wallajah's successor Umdat ul-Umara, the lands belonging to the brothers were confiscated by the East India Company.

Anna Salai (Tamil: [aɳɳaː saːlaɪ]), formerly known as St. Thomas Mount Road or simply Mount Road, is an arterial road in Chennai, India. It starts at the Cooum Creek, south of Fort St George, leading in a south-westerly direction towards St. Thomas Mount, and ends at the Kathipara Junction in Guindy. Beyond the Kathipara Junction, a branch road arises traversing westwards to Poonamallee to form the Mount-Poonamallee Road while the main branch continuing southwards to Chennai Airport, Tambaram and beyond to form Grand Southern Trunk Road (GST Road or NH45). There were several flyover projects under proposal along the stretch, many of which have been shelved owing to the construction of the Chennai Metro Rail project, which runs along the median of the road. Anna Salai Head Post office, one of the most important post offices in the city, is located on this road. It was established in 1854 as Mount Road SO as a non-gazetted delivery office. With the growth of commerce and urbanization, this SO was upgraded to gazetted in the year 1955. Nomenclature of this Head Post office was changed from Mount Road Head Post office to Anna Road Head Post office on 15 September 1974.

LIC Building is a 15-storied building in Chennai, India, serving as the southern headquarters of the Life Insurance Corporation of India. It is the first skyscraper built in Chennai and an important landmark in the city. Located on the arterial Anna Salai (formerly Mount Road), the building is 54 m (177 ft) tall. Initially built with 12 floors, the LIC Building was the tallest building in India when it was completed in 1959 and was surpassed by Mumbai's first skyscraper, the Usha Kiran Building, in 1961, which is about 80 m (260 ft) high. The building marked the transition from lime-and-brick construction to concrete columns in the region. The building is also known for using pile foundation technique for the first time in the region. It was the tallest building in Chennai for over 35 years before being surpassed by the Hyatt Regency Building (erstwhile Magunta Oberoi) on Anna Salai and the Arihant Majestic Towers in Koyambedu, both in the mid-1990s.

The Quaid-e-Millath Government College for Women is an educational institution in Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu. In 1974-75 it replaced the Government Arts College for Men, which was shifted to Nandanam. The Mount Road Arts College was the legacy of the Muslim Rulers of Wallajah. The Madras Mohammedan College and the Madrasa-e-Azam school for boys functioned from this location. After Independence, Mohamedan College was renamed as Government Arts College for Men (1948). The premises are now divided between the Madrasa-e-Azam school and the Quaid-e-Millath Government College for Women.
