Chelmer Valley Riverside is a 17.6 hectare Local Nature Reserve along the banks of the River Chelmer in Chelmsford in Essex. It is owned and managed by Chelmsford City Council.The northern end has the river, unimproved grassland, veteran hedges, scrub and woodland. The southern area is more managed, with mown grass as well as large trees and an area of marshland. Wildlife includes kingfishers, otters, mistletoe and pyramidal orchids.There are many access points, including Valley Bridge at the northern end and Victoria Road at the southern one.

Chelmsford railway station is on the Great Eastern Main Line in the East of England, serving the city of Chelmsford, Essex. It is 29 miles 60 chains (47.9 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Ingatestone to the west and Hatfield Peverel to the east. Its three-letter station code is CHM. The station is currently operated by Greater Anglia, who also operate all trains serving it, as part of the East Anglia franchise. Westbound trains terminate at Liverpool Street and eastbound trains run to a number of destinations including Braintree, Clacton-on-Sea, Colchester Town, Ipswich and Norwich.

The City of Chelmsford () is a local government district in Essex, England. It is named after its main settlement, Chelmsford, which is also the county town of Essex. On 1 June 2012 Chelmsford was granted city status to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II.

The current Stone Bridge in Chelmsford, Essex, England, was commissioned in 1784 by the Essex Court of Quarter Sessions, who had responsibility for the crossing. The work was entrusted to John Johnson, the county surveyor for Essex from 1782 to 1812. The first stone was lain on 5 October 1785, with a temporary bridge slightly down river allowing a crossing while the work was undertaken. Stone was brought by sea from Dorset to Maldon and then transferred to carts to be taken through Danbury before reaching Chelmsford. It became a Grade II listed structure in 1949.

Chelmsford County High School for Girls or "CCHS", is a selective grammar school for girls aged 11–18 located in Chelmsford, Essex, England. Entrance to the school is by an academic selection test. CCHS is traditionally rated among the most consistently high achieving and academically successful secondary schools in the United Kingdom, regularly scoring top marks for both GCSE and A-level results. CCHS has also been voted the best secondary school in Essex. Chelmsford Civic Centre is a municipal building in Duke Street, Chelmsford, Essex, England. The structure, which accommodates the offices and meeting place of Chelmsford City Council, is a locally listed building.

The County Ground in Chelmsford, Essex, has been the official home ground of Essex County Cricket Club since 1967. It has been used for first-class cricket since 1925 and List A matches since 1969. The capacity is 6,500, mostly in single-tier seating with a single double-tiered stand. The pavilion was completed in the 1970s.
