Alagappa College of Technology is an educational institution located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India that offers higher education in engineering, technology and allied sciences. The college was established in 1944 and was integrated with Anna University in 1978 from University of Madras as a constituent part of Anna University within its Guindy Campus.

School of Architecture and Planning (SAP) is one of the four constituent colleges of Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu (India). It was established as a Department of Architecture of the University of Madras in 1957 and was located in the Alagappa College of Technology. The department was later renamed as the School of Architecture and Planning and shifted to its own independent campus in 1968. It is now a constituent college of Anna University. After formulation of Anna University in 1978, the School of Architecture and Planning, being one of the four constituent autonomous institutions of Anna University, started to functions as two departments namely Department of Architecture and Department of Planning from 2005 till date. Dr. Ranee Vedamuthu is the Dean and HOD(i/c)-Department of Architecture and Dr. Masilamani is the HOD(i/c) -Department of Planning. The school conducts undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Architecture and a postgraduate course in Planning. The UG &PG courses currently offered are B.Arch, M.Arch, M.Arch (Landscape) and M.Plan. SAP also offers Ph D programs in Architecture and Planning and MS degree (through research). Under the memorandum of understanding, the Architecture Department has strong connections with various international partners and institution from Europe and United States enabling students and staff to participate in international exchanges through collaborative academic and research works.The school has its own library with a collection of publications of about 15,000 which include books, Journals, thesis reports and back volumes. The Library has now become a resource center for Architectural colleges of Tamil Nadu as well as for other State. Dr. Ranee Vedamuthu, Chairman of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning is the Professor in-charge of Library. SAP has a Centre for Human Settlements (CHS) which is an autonomous Centre of the Anna University t was established in the year 1980. It is an interdisciplinary Centre offering Consultancy, Training, Research and Extension services in the areas related to Urban and Regional Planning, Development and Management. Dr. Masilamani is the director of CHS. The Quality Improvement Program (QIP) Cell was established by the AICTE at SAP campus and has provided the research facilities for teachers of other architectural institutions besides providing admission to PG degree course. Till date 16 teachers from various Schools of Architecture have benefited by the Cell. The QIP Cell also conducts short term training programs for faculty of architecture and Continuing Education programs for professionals.

Sangarsh is an annual fund-raising musical concert organised by Rotaract club of CEG, Anna University, Chennai. Sangarsh is focused at aiding the needy sections of the society. Many eminent playback singers have made their presence over the years. Actor Kamal Haasan was the patron for Sangarsh'11. Oscar-winning Music Director A.R.Rahman was the patron of Sangarsh'12. Veteran actor Prakash Raj and actor Srikanth were the patrons for Sangarsh'13.

Anna University is a public state university located in Tamil Nadu, India. The main campus is in Chennai. It was originally established on 4 September 1978 and was named after C. N. Annadurai, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) is an Indian institution for open and distance learning established by the government of Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded in 2002 and is based in Chennai. The university was established by the Legislative Assembly of the government of Tamil Nadu in Act 27 of 2002 to provide access to higher education for those who had been previously unable to pursue it. It opened in 2003, was recognized by the University Grants Commission in September 2015, and is one of five universities approved to offer distance learning outside its state of establishment. As of January 2016 it was one of 14 state open universities in India, which also has one national open university, Indira Gandhi National Open University; as of April 2017 it was one of 111 distance learning institutions in the country. As of December 2017 it offers 113 programmes of study at levels from certificate to post graduate and has 13 academic schools, five support divisions, a media centre and more than 600 learner support centres across Tamil Nadu.Students are admitted under two admission cycles, calendar year (January to December) and academic year (July to June). They include those living in remote and rural areas, working people, handicapped students, housewives and retirees such as a 67-year-old woman who later completed an MA in history with Madras University, and prisoners.

Guindy National Park is a 2.70 km2 (1.04 sq mi) protected area of Tamil Nadu, located in Chennai, India, is the 8th-smallest National Park of India and one of the very few national parks situated inside a city. The park is an extension of the grounds surrounding Raj Bhavan, formerly known as the 'Guindy Lodge', the official residence of the governor of Tamil Nadu, India. It extends deep inside the governor's estate, enclosing beautiful forests, scrub lands, lakes and streams. The park has a role in both ex-situ and in-situ conservation and is home to 400 blackbucks, 2,000 spotted deers, 24 jackals, a wide variety of snakes, geckos, tortoises and over 130 species of birds, 14 species of mammals, over 60 species of butterflies and spiders each, a wealth of different invertebrates—grasshoppers, ants, termites, crabs, snails, slugs, scorpions, mites, earthworms, millipedes, and the like. These are free-ranging fauna and live with the minimal of interference from human beings. The only major management activity is protection as in any other in-situ conservation area. The park attracts more than 700,000 visitors every year.

The Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre (TNSTC) is a science museum and educational institution in Chennai, India. Established in 1983, it operates under the Government of Tamil Nadu's Department of Higher Education. The centre serves as a hub for science education and awareness, housing several major facilities including the Periyar Science and Technology Centre, the B. M. Birla Planetarium, and various specialized galleries.

VanaVani Matriculation Higher Secondary School, situated in the campus of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India was founded on 8 July 1963 as a primary school with 52 pupils. Today it has grown and developed into a full-fledged Matriculation Higher Secondary School with over 2,200 students.

Voluntary Health Services, popularly known as the VHS Hospital, is a multispecialty tertiary care referral hospital in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, reportedly serving the economically weaker sections of the society. It was founded in 1958 by Krishnaswami Srinivas Sanjivi, an Indian physician, social worker and a winner of Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards and is run by a charitable non governmental organization of the same name. The hospital is situated along Rajiv Gandhi Salai at Taramani, in Chennai.

Madhya Kailash (Tamil: மத்திய கைலாசம்), also known as Nadukkayilai in Tamil, is a Hindu temple in South Chennai, located at the junction between Sardar Patel Road, Adyar and Rajiv Gandhi Salai. It is located opposite the Central Leather Research Institute and is close to the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.

The Madhya Kailash Junction is an important junction in the southern part of the city of Chennai. It is located at the beginning of the Rajiv Gandhi Salai (IT Expressway) which intersects the Sardar Patel Road in the form of "T".
