Carmel Bay

The PURE Insurance Championship is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour Champions. It is sponsored by the PURE Insurance company and normally held in August/September in Monterey, California at the Pebble Beach Golf Links and Del Monte Golf Course, but has also been played in July. In 2014 it was played at Pebble Beach and Poppy Hills Golf Course.It is an official PGA Tour Champions event that pairs one junior with one senior, PGA Tour Champions player and two amateurs. Seventy-eight junior spots are awarded, seventy chosen from two selection processes and eight exemptions are selected through The First Tee of Monterey County and Monterey Peninsula Foundation, the host organization. The purse for the 2012 tournament was US$1,800,000, with $255,000 going to the winner. The tournament was founded in 2004 as The First Tee Open at Pebble Beach presented by Wal-Mart. The First Tee of Monterey County is one of the direct receivers of the proceeds made from this tournament. Walmart was the title sponsor of this event from 2004 to 2009. National Association for Home Care & Hospice was the title sponsor for 2010. Nature Valley was the title sponsor for the 2011 tournament.

Ghost Tree is a famed big wave surfing location off the 18th hole of Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California. The wave breaks off the rock-strewn shoreline known as Pescadero Point. On rare winter days with the proper westerly angle, waves are focused by the deep Carmel Canyon to rear up as much as 60 ft (18 m) in height. Formerly known as Pesky's, Ghost Tree is considered one of the most dangerous waves in the world due to its slab shape, massive boils, strong current, bull kelp, and the underwater labyrinth of natural rock pillars in the impact zone. It is also frequented by white sharks.

Carmel Pinnacles State Marine Reserve (SMR) is a marine protected area in Carmel Bay including a unique underwater pinnacle formation with adjacent kelp forest, submarine canyon head, and surfgrass. The Seaburst House, is a mid-century modern-style private residence located on Carmel Point in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. This is the second home on Carmel Point designed and built by architect Francis W. Wynkoop in 1953. The house's modernist-style, integration with the landscape, attention to detail, and use of natural materials combine to create an example of mid-century architecture that remains relevant today. The house, perched on a rocky outcropping, is a piece of architecture that still stands today as a testament to Wynkoop's skill and innovative approach to design. It is one of the only five houses built directly on the rocky Carmel shoreline.

Carmel Point also known as the Point and formerly called Point Loeb and Reamer's Point, is an unincorporated community in Monterey County, California, United States. It is a cape located at the southern city limits of Carmel-by-the-Sea and offers views of Carmel Bay, the mouth of Carmel River, and Point Lobos. Carmel Point was one of three major land developments adjacent to the Carmel city limits between 1922 and 1925. The other two were Hatton Fields, 233 acres (94 ha) between the eastern town limit and Highway 1, and Carmel Woods, 125 acres (51 ha) tract on the north side.Carmel Point is also known for its beautiful homes and architecture. Several of the homes in the community were designed by renowned architects, such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Julia Morgan, and feature views of the ocean and surrounding landscape.

Butterfly House, is a Mid-century modern style house built in 1951 located on Carmel Point in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Due to its unique wing-shaped roof, this building is commonly referred to as the Butterfly House. The house was designed and built by architect Francis W. Wynkoop. It is one of the few houses that is on the rocky Carmel shoreline.

Tor House and Hawk Tower are buildings in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, United States. They were the home of poet Robinson Jeffers and family from 1919 to 1999. The two structures, often referred to jointly as Tor House, are generally believed to have played a crucial role in the development of Robinson Jeffers as a poet, and have inspired many a visitor. Stewart Brand, founder of the Whole Earth Catalog, describes Tor House as "a poem-like masterpiece" with "more direct intelligence per square inch than any other house in America".

Driftwood Cottage, often simply called Driftwood, is a historic home located on Carmel Point at the southern city limits of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. It has views of Carmel Bay, Carmel River, and Point Lobos. It was the first house built on Carmel Point and became the home of actress Jean Arthur. Architect George W. Reamer built the house in 1908 for Florence E. Wells.

Pebble Beach is an unincorporated community on the Monterey Peninsula in Monterey County, California, United States. The community's post office is named Pebble Beach, as is its identity; whereas, the U.S. Census Bureau aggregates census returns from Pebble Beach as part of the larger census-designated place of Del Monte Forest. However, residents and visitors associate and identify with the name Pebble Beach; boundaries of the Del Monte Forest extend outside of the Pebble Beach community boundaries encompassing a larger forest area that comprises the wooded parts of Monterey Peninsula. Area open space is partly administered by the Del Monte Forest Conservancy, a non-profit organization designated by Monterey County and the California Coastal Commission to acquire and manage certain properties by conservation easement and, as well, by fee title. The Conservancy is governed by a self-elected volunteer board of up to 12 members working with a small part-time group of contractors and volunteers to preserve the open space within the Del Monte Forest and non-forested sites of Pebble Beach. The Lodge at Pebble Beach is a historic American hotel and clubhouse overlooking the Carmel Bay in Pebble Beach, California. Opened in 1919, the property, operated by Pebble Beach Resorts.

The Los Laureles Lodge is a historic American lodge in Carmel Valley, California. The Pacific Improvement Company used the lodge as a game preserve for Hotel Del Monte guests to hunt, fish, and canoe the Carmel River. It was once referred to as the Rancho Del Monte or Del Monte Dude Ranch. Today, the Los Laureles Lodge is a resort hotel and restaurant.

The 2023 U.S. Women's Open was the 78th U.S. Women's Open, held July 6 to 9 at the Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California.Allisen Corpuz won by three strokes over Charley Hull and Jiyai Shin. It was her first LPGA Tour win.
