Victoria College is a Government-run, fee-paying, academically selective day school for boys in St Helier, Jersey. Founded in 1852, the school is named after Queen Victoria. It is owned and administered by the Government of Jersey and is located on Mont Millais adjacent to Jersey College for Girls, the Government fee-paying secondary school for girls. As a fee-charging school and a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference (HMC), Victoria College is often considered a private school or a public school in the British sense of the term, despite receiving government funding. The school is selective, meaning prospective pupils must pass an entrance exam to be offered a place. The school charges £2,240 per term, with three terms per academic year, as of 2021/2022, and was noted as being the seventh-least expensive day school in the HMC in 2014. The senior school has about 650 boys aged 11 to 18, with a further 250 boys aged 7 to 11 at the associated preparatory school, which was established in 1922.

Beaulieu Convent School is a Roman Catholic independent school for girls located in St Helier, Jersey. Beaulieu's sister school is De La Salle College, Jersey Today the school is divided into preschool, primary and secondary departments, and also operates a sixth form. Courses of study offered at the school include GCSEs, A Levels and BTECs.

Jersey College for Girls (Jèrriais: Lé collège jèrriais pour les fil'yes), commonly referred to as JCG, is a government-run, fee-paying, academically selective secondary school for girls in Saint Saviour, Jersey. It was founded in 1880 in Saint Helier as Jersey Ladies' College. In 1887, the college moved to a purpose-built site on La Pouquelaye and in 1999, it moved again to its present site, on Mont Millais, across from Victoria College, the government fee-paying school for boys. Despite being owned by the States of Jersey, JCG charges tuition fees of £2,813 per term in the 2024/25 school year.

The Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman (CIFO) is a statutory ombudsman scheme with jurisdiction in both Jersey and the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The service investigates complaints regarding financial services provided in or from the Channel Islands. The organisation received its full statutory powers in 2015. CIFO is one of a handful of pan-island institutions, other examples being the Office of the Director of Civil Aviation and the Channel Islands Brussels Office. The organisation is led by a principal ombudsman and chief executive, a post currently held by Douglas Melville. Melville had previously served as the chief executive of the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments in Canada. If accepted by the complainant, CIFO decisions are legally binding on both parties and there is no possibility of appeal. However, ombudsman decisions may be subject to judicial review in the Royal Court of either jurisdiction. In Jersey, CIFO reports to the Minister for Sustainable Economic Development. In Guernsey, CIFO reports to the President of the Committee for Economic Development of the States of Guernsey. The organisation is headquartered in Jersey.

St Helier railway station was the terminus of the Jersey Eastern Railway (JER) in Saint Helier, the capital of Jersey in the Channel Islands. Opened in 1874, it was situated in a railway cutting at the base of Mont de la Ville below Fort Regent. The station was referred to as St. Helier (Snow Hill) to distinguish it from another railway terminus opened by the Jersey Railway in 1873 at the Weighbridge (now Liberation Square) in St Helier. The station was in passenger operation until the line closed in 1929. Today the site is occupied by the Snow Hill car park.

Government House is the official residence of the lieutenant governor of Jersey. The building is situated in the parish of St Saviour in Jersey. It is also used for ceremonial functions, receptions and meetings with visiting foreign dignitaries and heads of state. It is also the official residence of the Duke of Normandy (currently King Charles III) as head of state when staying in Jersey.

St John Ambulance Jersey, officially the Commandery of the Bailiwick of Jersey of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem is a charitable voluntary first aid organisation based in Jersey. It teaches first aid and communication skills to over 16s, alongside recruiting volunteers to provide first aid at events, respond to emergencies and work alongside police. On the 3 April 2020, the Jersey Ambulance Service took command of St John Ambulance, to help coordinate its emergency first aid efforts. The organisation is affiliated with St John Ambulance England, and is heavily managed from their headquarters. In 2019, the charity faced financial troubles after failing to find a sponsor. The chief executive, Barry Marsden, said the organisation could face bankruptcy in 2021. Following the statement, David Le Quesne sponsored the charity and brought its finances to £900,000.

The States Assembly (French: Assemblée des États; Jèrriais: Êtats d'Jèrri) is the parliament of Jersey, formed of the island's 37 deputies and the Connétable of each of the twelve parishes. The origins of the legislature of Jersey lie in the system of self-government according to Norman law guaranteed to the Channel Islands by John, King of England, following the division of Normandy in 1204. The States Assembly has exercised uncontested legislative powers since 1771, when the concurrent law-making power of the Royal Court of Jersey was abolished. The Assembly passes and amends laws and regulations; approves the annual budget and taxation; appoints the chief minister, ministers and members of various committees and panels; debates matters proposed by the Council of Ministers, by individual States Members or by one of the committees or panels. Members are also able to ask questions to find out information and to hold ministers to account. Executive powers are exercised by a chief minister and eleven ministers, elected from among the members of the Assembly, and are known collectively as the Council of Ministers. Ministers are accountable to the Assembly for the conduct of their departments.

The States Building is the meeting place of the States Assembly, the parliament of Jersey. It is located on the south side of the Royal Square, adjacent to Hill Street, in St Helier, Jersey.
