States Assembly

The States Building is the meeting place of the States Assembly, the parliament of Jersey. It is located on the south side of the Royal Square, adjacent to Hill Street, in St Helier, Jersey.

The Parish Church of St Helier is the parish church of the parish of Saint Helier, Jersey. It is a Church of England church, one of the twelve 'Ancient Parish Churches' of Jersey, and serves as the Island's civic church and Pro-Cathedral.

St Helier railway station was the terminus of the Jersey Eastern Railway (JER) in Saint Helier, the capital of Jersey in the Channel Islands. Opened in 1874, it was situated in a railway cutting at the base of Mont de la Ville below Fort Regent. The station was referred to as St. Helier (Snow Hill) to distinguish it from another railway terminus opened by the Jersey Railway in 1873 at the Weighbridge (now Liberation Square) in St Helier. The station was in passenger operation until the line closed in 1929. Today the site is occupied by the Snow Hill car park.

16 New Street is a detached Georgian house in St Helier, Jersey. It is in the care of the National Trust for Jersey. It is Grade 2 listed.

Jersey Heritage is an independent trust in Jersey which is responsible for the island's major historic sites, museums, and public archives. It holds collections of artefacts, works of art, documents, specimens, and information relating to Jersey's history, culture, and environment. The trust was formally registered in Jersey on 3 June 1983. The trust is financed by an annual grant from the States of Jersey, and self-generated income.

The Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman (CIFO) is a statutory ombudsman scheme with jurisdiction in both Jersey and the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The service investigates complaints regarding financial services provided in or from the Channel Islands. The organisation received its full statutory powers in 2015. CIFO is one of a handful of pan-island institutions, other examples being the Office of the Director of Civil Aviation and the Channel Islands Brussels Office. The organisation is led by a principal ombudsman and chief executive, a post currently held by Douglas Melville. Melville had previously served as the chief executive of the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments in Canada. If accepted by the complainant, CIFO decisions are legally binding on both parties and there is no possibility of appeal. However, ombudsman decisions may be subject to judicial review in the Royal Court of either jurisdiction. In Jersey, CIFO reports to the Minister for Sustainable Economic Development. In Guernsey, CIFO reports to the President of the Committee for Economic Development of the States of Guernsey. The organisation is headquartered in Jersey.

The Jersey Eastern Railway was a standard gauge railway that began operations on 6 August 1873 in Jersey. The line closed on 21 June 1929.

King Street (Jèrriais: Rue d'Driéthe), also known as Rue de Derrière, is one of the two parts of the high street of Saint Helier in Jersey. It is a pedestrianised shopping street which runs from Charing Cross at its west end to Queen Street at its east end. It includes a spur that links to Broad Street which is also called King Street in English, but Ruette Haguais in gallicised Jèrriais.

The Jersey Railway was originally a 3+3⁄4 miles (6.0 km) long standard gauge railway on Jersey in the Channel Islands. Opened in 1870, it was converted to 3 ft 6 in (1,067 mm) narrow-gauge in 1884 and extended 7+3⁄4 miles (12.5 km). The line closed in 1936.

The Pomme d'Or Hotel is a hotel in Saint Helier, Jersey. It was founded in 1837 and was used as the Nazi naval headquarters during the Nazi occupation of the Channel Islands. It is the main focus for Jersey's Liberation Day celebrations.

St Helier railway station was a railway station in Saint Helier, the capital of Jersey in the Channel Islands. The station was referred to as "St. Helier (Weighbridge)" to distinguish it from another railway terminus opened by the Jersey Eastern Railway in 1873 in St Helier at Snow Hill. The station was in passenger operation until the line closed in 1936.

The Maritime Museum is located in Saint Helier, Jersey in the Channel Islands. It is housed in a set of five 19th-century warehouses and was opened in 1997. The collection includes artefacts from the island's maritime industry as well as from piracy and the 1692 Battles of Barfleur and La Hougue. The museum houses the Occupation Tapestry a 1988-1994 work created by islanders to depict life under the 1940-1945 German occupation.
