There are varied definitions of the area, including the official statistical areas designated by the Office of Management and Budget, a federal agency of the United States. Metro Detroit is known for its automotive heritage, arts, entertainment, popular music, food, cultural diversity, and sports. The area includes a variety of natural landscapes, parks, and beaches, with a recreational coastline linking the Great Lakes. Metro Detroit also has one of the largest metropolitan economies in the U.S. with 17 Fortune 500 companies.

Frank Cody High School is a high school in Detroit, Michigan, United States. Named to honor a former superintendent of Detroit Public Schools, it opened in 1952.

Warrendale is a neighborhood located in Detroit, Michigan, bordered by Greenfield Road, Joy Road, and the Detroit city limits. Warrendale neighbors Dearborn on two sides and Dearborn Heights on another side.

The Karbalaa Education Center is located along a busy commercial strip in the heart of a thriving Middle Eastern community in Dearborn, a middle-class suburb of Detroit. The strip is lined with numerous Middle Eastern restaurants, bakeries, clothing stores, and markets selling Halal meat. The Karbalaa Islamic Education Center, housed in a former nightclub that had been damaged by fire, contains approximately 10,000 square feet (930 m2) of space that have been converted into a prayer room, offices, an all-purpose meeting room, an audio-visual room, kitchen, and an area to hold a weekend school for children.

St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church was established on May 24, 1942 on Waterman Street in Detroit, MI, US. The current location in Dearborn, MI was dedicated on October 14, 1962; it serves the Armenians in Eastern Michigan, and is one of the Churches of the Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America under jurisdiction of the Holy See of Cilicia. The congregation supports the Armenian Senior Citizen Tower, also called St Sarkis Towers, a 151-unit low income/senior housing facility near the church.

The Parklane Towers complex is a pair of twin office buildings in Dearborn, Michigan, United States, known locally as the "salt and pepper shakers" or "washer and dryer"Parklane Towers East is located at 1 Parklane Boulevard in Dearborn, Michigan. It was constructed in 1971 and stands at 15 stories. The older of the twin buildings is used for offices, retail, and other commercial space.Parklane Towers West is located at 3 Parklane Boulevard in Dearborn, MI. The younger of the two buildings was constructed in 1973 and stands at 15 floors in height. Designed by Rossetti architects, the high-rise is used for offices and retail space. Rossetti architects designed both towers in the modern architectural style with concrete and glass as its main materials. Joseph Pasquali was the tile setter and mechanic for the towers.

The Islamic Center of America (Arabic: ٱلْمَرْكَز ٱلْإِسْلَامِيّ فِي أَمْرِيكَا‎, al-Markaz al-ʾIslāmīy Fī ʾAmrīkā) is a mosque located in Dearborn, Michigan, in the United States. The 120,000 sq. ft. facility is the largest mosque in North America and the oldest purpose-built Shia mosque in the United States, as well as the second oldest mosque in the United States after 'Asser El Jadeed which originally opened in 1924 in Michigan City, Indiana.The Islamic Center of America is located at 19500 Ford Road in Dearborn and was founded in 1949.

Detroit Leadership Academy is a free public charter school located in Detroit, MI. The school was opened in 2012 through the YMCA and currently serves students in Pre-K - 11th grade at two campuses on the city's west side. and is managed by Equity Education.

Dearborn Ice Skating Center (The DISC, formerly Mike Adray Arena) is a 1,700-seat indoor ice arena located in Dearborn, Michigan, United States, in Metro Detroit. It is used primarily for high school and youth hockey as well as for ice skating. There are 1,500 seats at the main arena and another 200 in the viewing area. The arena contains eight locker rooms and three officials' rooms. Two party rooms also overlook the arena. The arena was recently remodeled with a new 4,000-square-foot (370 m2) lobby and main entrance. Built in 1971 as the Ford Woods Ice Arena, it was renamed the Mike Adray Sports Arena in 1981. A second ice rink was added in 1996 and named Kilpatrick Arena, with the entire complex being renamed the Dearborn Ice Skating Center.

Clara B. Ford Academy is a charter school located in the city of Dearborn Heights, Michigan. The school is located at 20651 West Warren Avenue. The Sisters of the Good Shepherd ran a Detroit area outreach program for young women and in the 1930s began fundraising with the Salvation Army for a large campus. The automaker Henry Ford and his wife, Clara B. Ford, donated 50 acres of land. The residential school opened in 1942 as part of the Vista Maria facility. By the 1980s the facility had evolved into a lay-run "residential treatment and detention facility for young women, placed [t]here by the court". The school has grades 5 - 12 and serves about 170 students at any time but 450 individuals in a school year. For some years Clara B. Ford was operated by the Dearborn School District although it is located in Dearborn Heights.

The Henry Ford II World Center, also commonly known as the Ford World Headquarters and popularly known as the Glass House, is the administrative headquarters for Ford Motor Company, a 12-story, glass-faced office building designed to accommodate a staff of approximately 3,000. The building is located at 1 American Road at Michigan Avenue in Dearborn, Michigan, near Ford's historic Rouge plant, Greenfield Village, the Henry Ford Museum, Dearborn's Henry Ford Centennial Library, and Fair Lane, Henry Ford's personal estate.In 2008, columnist George Will said the building opened at "the peak of American confidence" and described the headquarters as having a "sleek glass-and-steel minimalism that characterized up-to-date architecture in the 1950s, when America was at the wheel of the world and even buildings seemed streamlined for speed".While under design and construction, the building was called the "Central Staff Office Building" and was later referred to as the "New Central Office Building" to distinguish it from the company's prior headquarters nearby, known as the Administration Building, which was located at 3000 Schaefer, directly across from the Ford Rotunda building. The building was later referred to as the "Ford Motor Company Administrative Center" and was formally renamed the Henry Ford II World Center in June 1996.In early 2016, Ford announced a redesign of the headquarters building and its surrounding campus, scheduled to begin in 2021 and projected to connect the Glass House to a series of new and existing buildings, parking decks, soccer fields and an arboretum.

WHFR (89.3 MHz) is a low power radio station in Dearborn, Michigan, which is owned and operated by Henry Ford College. WHFR programs a variety radio format, music heard little elsewhere on Detroit area radio stations. The station features alternative/modern rock, big bands, urban gospel, Americana, folk, blues, hip hop, jazz, space rock, urban rock, and world music, in addition to a weekly public affairs show. Most music shows highlight new releases, independent labels, and local artists. Through a satellite-delivered service known as "Classical 24," the station provides classical music in late nights and early mornings. WHFR-FM is non-commercial, student-staffed, faculty-guided station with its radio studios in the college's Student Center. The transmitter is also on the campus, off Evergreen Road.
