Barstow is an unincorporated community in Rock Island County, Illinois, United States. Barstow is east of East Moline and Silvis. Barstow is located on a wye that connects track owned by the BNSF Railway, including the Barstow Subdivision. These tracks were previously owned by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad (CB&Q), and a station once existed within the wye. Barstow was to be the site of a planned hog plant and a Nascar race track, but both plans were shelved after heavy opposition to them.

The Quad Cities Metropolitan Area is situated across four counties in Illinois and Iowa. It is located four miles from the intersection of Interstate 80 and Interstate 88, 165 miles west of Chicago, Illinois, and 165 miles east of Des Moines. It sits next to East Moline and Moline. The area has a rate media market with 308,910 TV households in a designated market area, or 2.7% of United States. Silvis also is near two major medical centers, including a critical access center. Silvis also has two community college districts, a liberal arts college, a public university auxiliary campus, two private universities, and two extension services in the area.

Black's Store, also known as the Brettun & Black Museum, is an historic building located in Hampton, Illinois, United States. The mercantile store was built in 1849 and was the largest store in Northwest Illinois when it opened. It is a three-story brick structure that had one of the first elevators in the Midwest. Preservationist Ron Nelson of Bishop Hill, Illinois restored the elevator in recent years. The store served as a riverboat stop and later as a stop on the Galena Stagecoach.The Brettun & Black Museum recreates the 1849 store. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Campbell's Island is an island and unincorporated community in the Mississippi River. The island is located in Hampton Township, Rock Island County, Illinois. It is adjacent to the city of East Moline and is connected to the city by a bridge. It is the site of the Campbell's Island State Memorial, a listed historic site overseen by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency.

Lock and Dam No. 14 is a lock and dam located near LeClaire, Iowa on the Upper Mississippi River above Davenport, Iowa and Moline, Illinois. The movable portion of the dam is 1,343 feet (409.3 m) long and consists of 13 tainter gates and 4 roller gates. Connected to it is a 1,127 feet (343.5 m) long non-submersible rock fill dike which extends to the Illinois side. The main lock is 110 feet (33.5 m) wide by 600 feet (182.9 m) long. The site on the National Register of Historic Places as the Lock and Dam No. 14 Historic District (#04000174) listed in 2004 consisting of 3,043 acres (12.3 km2), 1 building, 6 structures, and 2 objects. It was completed in two phases, the first as part of the six foot channel project from 1921 to 1924, which included a lock and canal bypassing a hazardous rapids. The second phase was part of the nine foot channel project from 1935 to 1939 and included the main dam and the current main lock.

East Moline is a city in Rock Island County, Illinois, United States. The population was 21,374 at the 2020 census. East Moline is part of the Quad Cities, along with the cities of Rock Island, Moline, and the Iowa cities of Davenport and Bettendorf. As of 2011, the Quad Cities has a population estimate of 381,342.

The John Deere Classic is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour. It is played annually in July, usually the week before The Open Championship, at TPC Deere Run in the Quad Cities community of Silvis, Illinois.
